The Grand Marquis and the Crown Victoria were both great cars. Ford screwed themselves in stopping production of them, pretty much every law enforcement agency, many taxi companies, and hundreds of thousands of people owned these cars. They did great in all weather conditions. They got pretty descent fuel economy as well. My aunt and uncle has a 1998 crown vic with 487k on it, its still going, and they still drive it all over the place.
I got a surprise text from my mother yesterday saying their older neighbors kids were selling a Chevy HHR and 2003 Grand Marquis Ultimate Edition, due to alzheimers. That part makes me sad. It was his travel car, always garaged with 50k miles I'm buying it this weekend at their asking price of $1500. I kinda feel guilty but they want to settle things so they can get their dad moved in with them asap. I'm excited to daily such a beauty.
i got a 01 Grand Marquis GS (had a beautiful 93 LS fully loaded but totaled it in a snow storm) i was wondering, do you know if the tack/display and everything from this will fit in my merc? i love it!
Hola sr este vídeo esta genial y este es un señor carrazo muy hermoso y muy elegante y le mando un cordial saludo de su amigo de siempre fco naesxc hoy 23 julio 2019 saludos desde ciudad Obregón sonora México
You cant kill the 4.6 motor. We have a 2007 Grand Marquise & it's sush a great car. Never a problem at all & it has 95,000 miles already. And it has ICE cold AC.....I live in vegas lol
Hi random person I have a question, what is the coldest weather this car can start in, and is it hard to install a block heater for the motor. I have a 2009 ls ultimate edition.
im 21 and i bought my dad's 2001 grand marquis for $3k with only 36k miles!! i got less miles than you lol, mine also has the digital dash, chrome pillars and rims, and it also has a custom chrome panel on the bottom part of the doors and bumpers, they're not as bad on gas, i get 25, 27,29 mpg here in vegas
most people would think of the Grand Marquis as being outdated...while it might be slightly dated in design its still one of my Favorite Car's by far...and im 16....id take this Full Sized V8,body on Frame over any Four Cylinder, unibody beer can,the value of these cars is outstanding.
Some are louder than others, I think the Explorer used/uses the regular coil springs. My 2003 Grand Marquis doesn't have air ride either, it was an upgrade option I believe. I'd rather be without it, it's been known to fail (I'm not sure it's supposed to have to fill up during start up every time). I've driven Crown Vics with it too and never heard it fire up, so there could be a leak causing it to have to refill.
AWSOME car man next time let her warm up she thought you were going for a drive with her she was so excited 😆 then you shut her down you can hear her disappointment in the engine video when you first shut her down. 😁
Oh, ok then. I thought the air ride was silent. Do all cars w/ air ride do that? Because I got a 1997 Explorer and I'm trying to figure out if it has air ride or not.
@knotdrummer88 Yup. They will. Depends on the year though. Some are 17" and others are 16" so make sure to check. Also if I was you I would invest on using Sea Foam. Google it and check it out. It really helped with performance and smoothness
Actually I don't think it would be all that hard to convert since the Explorer uses the same 8.8 rear axle as the Crown Vics, though there may be other factors at play there. Not to mention you would have to wire it in somehow so that it is turned on with the car being on, and only powers up when needed. I don't see why it couldn't be done though.
@jonesmw01 "Just because the EPA rated it at 25 mpg on the highway doesn't mean it can't do better, or worse for that matter.. It all depends on how you drive and maintain it". So true and I agree fully. But it still doesn't help your case, sir. Real life fuel consumption figures will always be somewhere near that EPA, just a few mpg up or down. That means that real life fuel consumption will also be similar. And that's bad considering the 16 year age difference between the 2. Good day!
@jonesmw01 I made a little bit a researching and I found out that the Grand Marquis will do 25mpg on th hwy, not 33. Even if you stripped your car empty, that's still a far cry. I have a 1987 Merkur XR4Ti, a compact sports car with a 2.3 turbo engine which, at max boost, has the equivalent displacement of 4.7 liters and it has the exact EPA. Hwy=>25, Cty=>17. And it's a 23 year old sports car that's packed full with ALL that luxury you were bragging about. Thing about the difference in age.
@jonesmw01 The Grand Marquis has 50% more stuff to haul than a Honda, that's why it requires that fat ass V8. And being that much bigger and heavier, the laws of physics clearly give it the better hand in a collision. My dad has a 1996 Ford Mondeo with anything a reasonable man can desire on it(AC, power everything, music, safety and control equipment, etc) and it only weighs 1200kg and the NA 1.8l 4-cylinder 16valve engine gives it awesome performance, reliability and it's way more economical.
@hi5lo2 this is true. i hit a tree with my vic police interceptor. messed it up ( in my vids) BUT i lived, and it saved me. and with some repair. will be roadworthy soon
@Mathieu1903 haha hell yeah right with yah dude my whole family drives those three exact moodels my brother has crown vic sister town car and my dad grand marquie my mom the mountaineer and i am probably getting the grand marquie and it only has 34,000 on it i have at least 300,000 more to go :)
Sad my 1995 4.6 mercury grand marquis has pretty much the same dash and digital cluster right down to the heat control. They didn't change much they just killed them off
Im confused.....The Grand Marquis Ultimate Edition, was manufactured in 2011 as the Last production...for this magnificent machine. Is your grandpa's a 2011 Or 2003 as you mentioned..??
The ultimate edition of 2003 was basically a Grand Marquis fully loaded except the moonroof/ sunroof or vinyl top like the presidential, actually I own an 03 ultimate edition
If you can get past the looks. I prefer the 90's GM B-Body vehicles. They seem kinda special, like a trip into the past. The Crown Vic's were so mass produced and generic that they aren't really special (at least to me).
@hi5lo2 your 15 and you know what your talking bout. you made me LTIAS laugh till i almost shit. and i will be quoting you for the rest of my cars life
RIP PAPA WE WILL MISS YOU!!! KEEP THE GRAND MARQUIS KYLE!!!

I got a surprise text from my mother yesterday saying their older neighbors kids were selling a Chevy HHR and 2003 Grand Marquis Ultimate Edition, due to alzheimers. That part makes me sad. everyones grandfather has this car
i got a 01 Grand Marquis GS (had a beautiful 93 LS fully loaded but totaled it in a snow storm) i was wondering, do you know if the tack/display and everything from this will fit in my merc? i love it!
I have a 1999 Grand Marquis LS 94000 original miles. Great condition, always been garaged, they are the best car on the road. As I am concerned.
you must love the grand marquis
gotta love the sound of the 4.6 L v8 in those marquis......
Please demonstrate the keypad entry on the driver's door. you can program in a temporary code to show everyone how it works.
Thanks.
Punch in the code driver's door unlocked hit 3/4 all other doors unlock hit 5/6 trunk opens. Hit 7/8 and 9/0 together it locks all doors
i love this car ur grandfather is cool... :P
How does the marquis drive in the winter weather?? Are you running snow tires?
Hola sr este vídeo esta genial y este es un señor carrazo muy hermoso y muy elegante y le mando un cordial saludo de su amigo de siempre fco naesxc hoy 23 julio 2019 saludos desde ciudad Obregón sonora México

Hi random person I have a question, what is the coldest weather this car can start in, and is it hard to install a block heater for the motor. I have a 2009 ls ultimate edition.
bring the sync system in to this car and its golden!
im 21 and i bought my dad's 2001 grand marquis for $3k with only 36k miles!! i got less miles than you lol, mine also has the digital dash, chrome pillars and rims, and it also has a custom chrome panel on the bottom part of the doors and bumpers, they're not as bad on gas, i get 25, 27,29 mpg here in vegas
i dont blame them, they are very nice
Renault and Citroen uses them in some cars (usually MPVs) though placed middle except for the tachometer which is usually in front of the driver.
really diggin the music lol
I want that car!!!! :)
most people would think of the Grand Marquis as being outdated...while it might be slightly dated in design its still one of my Favorite Car's by far...and im 16....id take this Full Sized V8,body on Frame over any Four Cylinder, unibody beer can,the value of these cars is outstanding.

@Mathieu1903 hey man do you know if i got some crownvic hub caps, the ones on police just the crome center, if it would fit on a grand marquis?
The only option I see missing is the heated seats(and possibly a sunroof). I'd love this car. I miss my '98 one.
AWSOME car man next time let her warm up she thought you were going for a drive with her she was so excited 😆 then you shut her down you can hear her disappointment in the engine video when you first shut her down. 😁
Do you know if there is any way to convert to air ride? Because I looked in my manualm and determined I don't have air ride.
grandma got one clean ass beetle lol
Amen to that!
Mercury Grampa Marquis!
hows this handle in the snow? i got a '99 grand marquis gs and i love it but its terrible in the snow so i dont drive in the snow
that dashboard looks like the one on my grandpas 1993 Lincoln Town Car
yup :)
Отличная машина!
Idk why that irks me when someone leaves the steering wheel down after they get out the car 😂😂
Oh, ok then. I thought the air ride was silent. Do all cars w/ air ride do that? Because I got a 1997 Explorer and I'm trying to figure out if it has air ride or not.
How’s that thing handle on the snow, bro?
The song in 4:35 is nice

He even said it at that time mark, the air ride suspension.
How do you get air bag suspension?
Digi dash is so nice
Great car... just wish I was able to drive
The front bench seat in the middle is so so uncumfertible. I really like the non gauge dash in seems futureistic.
RetroVintageItems27
The Grand Marquis and Crown Victoria are the best cars Ford has ever built.
Let it warm up before reving it. Not good for the engine when it's cold. Very nice car too :)
:20 punch buggy, punch buggy. PUNCH BUGGY!
the ultimate GRAND PA CAR
Hey saabkyle 04 you sell cars?Is cool mercury!
i am thinking that the grand marquis fully loaded has the same features than the lincoln town car.
am i right?

dave had an older version of this car too.
@jonesmw01

They don't make these gems anymore it's soooo sad Ford will not produce cars anymore except the mustang they will build SUVs and crossovers
Ralph Abreu wait.. what about the Taurus, and Fusion? They are not cars?
one he had had a big fan in front of the engine
What's that sound at 2:46?
either this, or a cadillac deville/DTS or a Lincoln towncar
@lukehogan278 Did this plus added some Bullitts from a Mustang on it. I love my Merc ;)
thats because it is.
@jonesmw01

Good thing you’re OK hope your car gets fixed
الله يوفقك
how many hp does it have?
Looks like it's already had it's timing chain guides replaced! Nice. Keep on eye on those rear axles! They were soft that year.
jonesmw10 isnt it the 8.8 thatz a good rear end
They're slow but they're still really nice. Everyone should have one.
I hope he’s OK
that has the same dash as my 97 towncar
@Mathieu1903 haha hell yeah right with yah dude
my whole family drives those three exact moodels my brother has crown vic sister town car and my dad grand marquie my mom the mountaineer and i am probably getting the grand marquie and it only has 34,000 on it i have at least 300,000 more to go :)

I was on IIIrd grade of elemy on schooltime on the Raul
Sad my 1995 4.6 mercury grand marquis has pretty much the same dash and digital cluster right down to the heat control. They didn't change much they just killed them off
meh I didn't doubt for a second it would start. Panther frame Fordasaurus's are just too bulletproof.

@Tcosp e-brake
I call dibbs when he wants rid of it :) that's exactly the car I want.
@hi5lo2 your 15 and you know what your talking bout. you made me LTIAS laugh till i almost shit.
