I bought my 2004 GS Grand Marquis in December. I love it to death. That 4.6 Liter V8 really gets up and goes. I had an accident with her though and she has to have a new hood, grill, header pannel, front bumper, and new head lamp assemblies. Gonna be a lot of work to fix her back up, but she'll be just as clean as yours when I'm done. Not to mention mine's the same color as yours.
These are some of the strongest and most reliable cars ever built along with the Lincoln Town Car and Ford Crown Vic. My 97 town car has over 200K miles and still runs strong like a freight train.
Also if you press your RDS button on the radio it will tell you what song is currently playing providing that your listening to a clear channel owned station.
@form109 yea, ford discontinued the crown vid and merc. is gone now so i think your correct. they have 2 2010 marquis'es at my delarship and theyre CHEEP!!!!!!!! fully loaded too
@prianah85 I can't wait to get one of these. That's what I like about it is that there's no center console so there's so much more area and freedom in the car. Too many people now a days want these small foreign cars that box you in. I used to be one of them until I bought a Dodge Magnum. I'll always perfer a full sized American car now.
My Grandpa had to rent one of these when he went to Vegas and he didn't like it because "it was too big," This is coming from the man that has a 2005 F-150 Extended Cab 5.4L Triton. My grandma for the same reason and she has a 2012 Elantra. Why can't I have normal Grandparents that have a Crown Victoria, Gran Marquis, or a Town Car because I love these things!!! :/
@Mraajdar GS and LS are option backages (LS is the better equipped variant.) It's great in the winter, even over heavy snow. The only trouble you may have in the winter is if the drive wheels are on very slick ice or are in deep soft snow. I've never gotten stuck in mine, but be aware that unlike a FWD car the Grand Marquis does not have a weight bias over the drive wheels. This lends to more balanced handling (see weight transfer) but reduced traction at a dead stop, which is useful on snow.
Thats a really nice Mercury. The only thing that I dont like is the digital guages and it doesnt have a tach. Mercury is a really good brand though. I really like my 2004 Mercury sable LS. Mercury makes good cars!!!
:58 dude i thought someone was in the car with u when i saw that shoe and then u turned the camera to the passenger side and i was like woow theres no one there that must of been a ghost lol
I definitely prefer the 2006 update interior. These cars biggest letdowns are the rather dimwitted transmission and sometimes rough engine. That is the common feature in both my friend's 96 and 06 Grand Marquis.
+WRB The 4.6 just isn't the most refined engine. Obviously being truck based it never was supposed to be, but I've been in multiple grand marquis (low and high mileage) that have a noticeable vibration to them at idle.
cool video thinkin about buyin a lincoln town car.i know that the crown vic, grand marquis, and tha town car all use the same 4.6 V8 but im not fully shure which is the fastest.i think the crown vic is the fastest the grand marquis is 2nd and the town car is 3rd.corect me if im wrong.
@sm6161 as do i , BUT tbh id rather have this car. aqnd switch out ECM/s this car then would be almost on par with teh cop car. either way, i do love these thigns. theyre big, BUT they do not drive like a big car
I gots the 03 and its ugly as hell. But it rides like a beast.. and its fast enough for a full size Murican sedan. Grand Pappy gonna beat yo azz for fucking up his shit like that.
1993 Chrysler New Yorker Fifth Avenue 1995 Chevrolet G20 Van 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 Turbo Diesel* 2011 Ford F-250 2006 Ford Expedition 1998 Ford Expedition 2000 Lincoln Navigator 2000 Lincoln Town Car 1997 Lincoln Town Car 2000 Ford Crown Victoria
Hey man that was awesome. I love those cars what does Ultimate edditoin mean? I love the sound of the big 4.6 Ltr V8 engine and the sound of the acceleration when you take off. We had a 96 Grand Marquis until one day we were in an accident and it was totaled. But Im just like you as far as kept it clean and washed and waxed I dont know how many times I waxed and washed it but it was an awesome car and i still miss it. Thanks for the drive it was nice. Take care of that car it will last !!
Rusty Nail How does it drive after 9 years (or maybe almost 10 years) after buying it? Does it drive great? I’m looking to get one as a project car to possibly fix.
I supercharged a 2007 at work for a client. I took it for a test drive and man this car be smokin tires with a supercharger. On the dyno it made. 350 hp n 380 somethin torque
thank you for reviewing cars that many of us like but will never own or drive, unless it gets 40+ mpg i wont buy a car, so im stuck driving a prius, lol.
When you live in heavily populated areas a prius, or some other hybrid is about the only choice on mpg but when you live out in an area where it’s just cruising highway speed and no real traffic, these cars are worth less mpg, not to mention now used you can get a very nice low mileage one for 4 grand.. compare that to a similar prius, and you are talking generally a 10k dollar difference.. 10k is a lot of gas my friend.. likely enough to make up the cost savings difference
The way cars were meant to be. Big ass V8 that got great gas millage, yet could be repaired with duct tape and a screwdriver. No center console, or tv screens, or bulky, awkward controls. You want to change the temperature, just rotate the knob. Has two cup holders, a tape player, and you can have your girl sit next to you on the bench seat. Please Detroit, bring back real cars.
@Mraajdar Try to find an example with the "PrecisionTrac" traction control (identified on the dash grand marquis logo and by a switch on the left of the dash under the instrument panel with a spinning tire icon on it.) It's very helpful in the winter in low-traction situations, especially if you have to make quick evasive maneuvers that involve heavy acceleration.
dude I have this exact same car, and of course I love it. At time 3:50 in the video you could have smoked the tires! Look to the left of the steering wheel, on the dash is a button for "traction control". It keeps you from spinning in snow or wet conditions. Turn that bad boy off when your really "running it".
Very funny your video joy ride convinced me of two things #1 yes like the car big boat with big power, quiet and a great roar to that V8 # 2 I better be careful when ny grandson asks to clean and make a video of my car. Great stuff kid !!
@hybrid32494 this car may be no prius when it comes to gas mileage...but as long you don't have a lead foot, it'll should be fine....the highway is where gas mileage for this car is the best, where most people tend to get mpg's in the high 20's (if you don't have the pedal buried in the floor)
you just can't be a full size rear drive sedan. Cadi, Merck / Lincon, they ride and drive like nothing else. Thanks for the video. The last great all American design and feel vehicles on the road.

Finding a Mercury Grand Marquis with digital gauges is pretty impossible that it will become a collectors item
My brother in law had an '05 Crown Vic(same thing just with Ford badges)...really nice car. Comfortable and fast.
This one is so cool!I love these cars! This one looks awesome!Your grandpa cares about this car!
The engine sounds good on the inside and also on the outside
These are some of the strongest and most reliable cars ever built along with the Lincoln Town Car and Ford Crown Vic. My 97 town car has over 200K miles and still runs strong like a freight train.
Very nice car you have. I can definetly see myself getting one of these one day when I'm older.
Did you get one of these yet ??
Also if you press your RDS button on the radio it will tell you what song is currently playing providing that your listening to a clear channel owned station.

Why are you driving it like that? Wasting gramps gas.

Because gramps needs to dust it out every now and then 😂
Alex Mattsson Hah. I get it. 😂
Perfect car! Could you tell me, what are the buttons on the driver's door for? Is the remote door-open system in basic?
@1DirtbikeBoy Yes. The biggest advantage the P71s have is rear end gearing. 3.53:1 opposted to the (most likely) 2.97:1 in this one.
Sad to say the Grand Marquis is one of the Last Rear Wheel Drive Full Sized American Sedan's Left......that sucks
you sure have a heavy foot on that gas petal !! I saw 0 to almost 55 in no time.
I like your videos, especially the driving videos!
Very nice keep it up!
Thanks!
What's the strip on top of the door handle?
alexlovesmac keyless entry. Pass code to unlock the doors
Nice grand marquis man!
How does this compare to the DeVille or the Park Avenue?
@prianah85 I can't wait to get one of these. That's what I like about it is that there's no center console so there's so much more area and freedom in the car. Too many people now a days want these small foreign cars that box you in. I used to be one of them until I bought a Dodge Magnum. I'll always perfer a full sized American car now.
@tippman2k01 and one HELL of a huge trunk for a decent sound system as well, WIHT the spare tire
My Grandpa had to rent one of these when he went to Vegas and he didn't like it because "it was too big," This is coming from the man that has a 2005 F-150 Extended Cab 5.4L Triton. :45 no one knows by queens of the stone age love that song lol nice vid 5/5
Haha when you said Ultimate Edition i heard Old Man Edition xD.Great Car ;D
@jonathanjeep1 you are aware that the Crown Victoria is built on the same platform?...virturally everything is the same minus the Grille and Logo.
I definitely prefer the 2006 update interior. These cars biggest letdowns are the rather dimwitted transmission and sometimes rough engine. That is the common feature in both my friend's 96 and 06 Grand Marquis.
+Zach Davis What do you mean by rough engine?
+WRB The 4.6 just isn't the most refined engine. Obviously being truck based it never was supposed to be, but I've been in multiple grand marquis (low and high mileage) that have a noticeable vibration to them at idle.
I see. Looking at a MGM, i can live with the vibration, just thought you meant reliability
+WRB 4.6 is an extremely reliable engine. My friends 96 has 235,000 miles and runs like the day it was made.
Zach Davis Thats what i am hearing from everyone. Good to hear then, might buy one this weekend.
@littleelvisofMA Ford, mercury, and Lincoln are all divisions of Ford Inc. They also quit making mercury.
@sm6161 Hate to shatter your ego but the P71 has the same Ford 4.6L V8 in it as the Grand Marquis.

@mifan93 yeah i hear ford is discontinuing the Panther Platform!...which means the Towncar and Crown Victoria will dissappear as well!
I have an '05 Town Car and I'd never owned an American car before. Love this car and prefer large American V8 rear drive sedans now...
@tippman
I'm having a quarter-life crisis and I'm getting a Grand Marquis since it was my first car and very comfortable to get some tail in! :-D
After watching ur videos i finally bought a Grand Marquis 2010
thank u so much.
Rusty Nail How does it drive after 9 years (or maybe almost 10 years) after buying it? Does it drive great? I’m looking to get one as a project car to possibly fix.
I have a 2003 Lincoln Town Car Signature that is just like your Grandfather's Grand Marquis.

I love this car...it's just amazing!!
i dont know why they put big engines in old peoples cars!!!!!LOL they dont go that fast!!!!!LOL
@wmichswingers
say what you want about the marquis being a grandpa car, but remember it has a big back seat if you know what i mean.
yea so do i. Now i like the new ones with the tac and digital milage reader
It would actually be a close race.. if not a tie.. I have a 99 P71 also.
Get the car again, and point at the overhead console. (I know. I sound like a rabid idiot.)
The speakers are bigger behind the door panel.
an old school car with ugly modern age digital gauges? yuck
ford certanly know how to build a car.
Hey whats ur MPG for your car? How much gas per week?
Can u take the Suburban on a test drive plz

This video would have been so much better without messing with the radio.. hearing the engine note and silence is underrated
Hoping to get one of these guys today.
MPG is over rated
lol my aunt is givin me a marquis for free from 2000 and its got 70k miles with leather
if you test drove a mercury marauder that would be wayyyy sick i think they are so nice
nice like the car
good old V8 power
@j221282 I like them. The small body foreign influences are played out to me.
A little hard on the shifter at 4:36 eh?
What song at 5:35
i love how these things will smoke many cars today if needed
What is that buzzing noise when he is pushing the gas in 3:40 ?
please do a mercury marauder, any color!!!!
your grandpa listions to loud music
Can anyone tell me what song at 5:35 plz I want to know that song
This is literally a 5 year old comment, but I’m gonna reply anyway. The song is “In The End” by Linkin Park
@@TPN_2006 lol thanks
how smooth is the ride?
