- I tested and review a POM pepper spray with clip retention. POM sprays have a unique flip top safety and an emphasis on style. I carried this pepper spray in a pocket for several days and I like it.

The pocket clip makes this by far the best pepper spray I've ever had. It's concealed and don't have to worry about it rolling around in my pocket and unloading spray.
it already has a hood that protects the button, so with a clip or no clip it wont discharge in your pocket
Just ordered two. For those who conceal carry a firearm this is a great first line of defense.

I just ordered one. Im only 16 but i work in a grocery store that doesn’t have a security guard and we have had a dude come in there going up to everyone and trying to start a fight literally our of the blue. Thankfully he didn’t come up to me but if he does it again I’ll be prepared. (Wasn’t his first time doing it)

hope you're doing well, being 18! employers should mitigate hazards to their employees and can be liable for not doing so, so if only for civil liability reasons an employer could be duty bound to trespass such an individual, thereby making even him setting foot on the property an easily provable crime. If you were to officially complain to management in a safety-related manner, have it documented, and had to use force, or were hurt in the future, that can show negligence on their part, and be a good payday, or force them to improve their operations. The ideal circumstance is it doesn't come to that, but that that reality makes them do the right thing and trespass him. Employee safety is #1!

Another thought on the color. I would say it goes deeper than just “accessorizing” to match colors. If you own multiple spray bottles. The color coding is useful to distinguish one bottle from another. Say if you bought a bottle each year and followed the ROYGBIV (Red, Orange, Yellow, etc banding) for the color. You would know by the exterior of the bottle which one will be expiring first or which bottle is the oldest without having to search for a sticker or tag or other method which might fall off. The color should also lend itself to “emergency” use. Or use under extremely stressful and confusing situations. Dark. Smoke. Flashing lights. Etc. Same reasoning as to why fire extinguishers are painted red and often have reflective tape etc in the manner they are. When people are in a traumatic situation or in “shock” they don’t think clearly. You might think you would never need the instructions or the bright color on the fire extinguisher… but when the next room is starting to fill with fire and smoke and your child is in the room… and you’re panicking and have just seconds to act… having the bright color so the emergency equipment is easily located and the instructions of “call 911… pull pin… aim… sweep side to side…” those things might just make the difference between tragedy or a much better outcome. POM' package is certainly the most well done for actual everyday carry. Pocket clip, good size and flip top, which is far better than nonsensical "twist locks".

They give you a water practice insert so you can practice and well as learn to use the clear stream efficiently
POM is a great company...I highly recommend it...
Actually swivel safeties can be fumbled when stressed, you just press, and will end up not getting any juice. and your opporunity may pass and you may be hurt or dead.
Not sure why you think it's a great clip. The unit pops off my belt and falls on the ground every time i wear it. The clip needs teeth or some real serations to hold stronger.
What's up with the ever so slightly smaller bottle on the left? I actually prefer the smaller one.
What does it take to wholesale POM ?
I've had OC used on me as a kid (because my parents didnt teach me what it was and we were playing) and have used it twice as self-defense against dogs, once against a pack of dogs violently attacking this elderly guy that I saved. I've also been in an edged weapon fight where an assailant shined a flashlight at my eye in the night, and bashed an aluminum flashlight on my head, breaking the flashlight. the only time in my life I thought I was operating under a fight or flight "program" and not free will. and 2 no shots fired "gun fights," one of which was a part of the same flashlight scenario.
I EDC POM OC and recommend liberal use of non lethal, if only for the fact you're saving yourself major legal headaches, including possibly your freedom. of course, avoiding situations where you need to use self defence is the best policy. Everyone should have some OC, and TEACH YOUR KIDS!

Interesting that they've designed it to be carried inverted, Safariland and Sabre reps have repeatedly told me *not* to carry the canister inverted.
Its kinda stupid really. You gotta grab it upside down at an awkward angle, then flip it. If you need in a hurry you better have muscle memory from previous extensive practice.
@@alfredsukeloff7183 Feels more natural to grab it in that position in my opinion. I actually prefer POM over the others you mentioned.

Yes, it's on the canister. The canister is exposed by pull off the bottom part of the case.

I don't know. It's good for 2 maybe 3 attackers.

clip is on backwards. If I'm right handed and clip that inside of my pocket, when I pull it out it will be facing me
Yes, I should have turned the clip. The bottom part of the exterior below the ring comes off so it can be turned.
Just twist it. Top and bottom are separate.

POM's marketing department is quiet effective. Having said this, I was given free sprays by lots of companies all of which came with no strings attached including POM.
Which spray do you carry and recommend?
@@tacitcaltechnlogy1277 Right now i carry a 4oz DPS black but im not very confident in its performance. The last 2 4oz DPS Blacks i had were duds. Wildfire is a budget brand and i was sprayed with that and once it hit my eyes it was a nightmare and that was the old formula. Fox 5.3, people say its bad now cuz they now use a different carrier but the formula is the same and just getting a wiff of the formula was enough to induce vomiting. I dont buy Heatwave because the owner screwed me once and hes a criminal. I may consider Vexor. Most sprays now use 1.3 % MC, but Wildfire 1.4% and Vexor has a 1.44% formula.

@@alfredsukeloff7183 Cap Stun is the first pepper spray brand that was introduced in the 1980’s that gained a solid reputation with law enforcement. It’s a good middle of the road product with 0.92% Major Capsaicinoids in an alcohol carrier. The only disadvantage is it’s only available in an acc u sol trigger top so it needs a special cup to carry it in that guards the trigger once the safety tab is broken. It’s a very effective formula used by Federal Law Enforcement but a flip top product like Vexor is prob best for most people.
