    Hey Justin, you should tell Ryan that 3rd place wins him the opportunity to be your rod caddy at the next tournament. It's a hell of an honor and he should be proud.

    You are so welcome for the food money. This was an exciting video. I loved it. And when you said BUCK PERRY I nearly squealed!!! I have some Buck Perry spoon lures my precious cousin gave me before he passed. He was a lot older than me. Lonnie was his name. He was like my second daddy. He taught me how to bowl. He didn’t teach me how to fish but he taught me a lot about fishing. He emphasized how important contour fishing is to me and by golly you proved it in this tournament! I’m so happy and proud of you Justin. Great job!!! Woohoo!!!!

    Ya justin, I took a small inflatable boat out over a week ago and being 6'5, felt very crunched with gear in it and trying to manage 2 poles and oars.
    I upgraded to a bigger one but not to big.
    That being said, I was interested in fishing from a kayak, but after that experience, I don't know how you and others manage to do it or even have fun being confined to that small of a space and holding paddle.
    Learning experience.

  • @ramrodrymensnyder2648
    @ramrodrymensnyder2648 8 місяців тому

    Just heard you mention getting DQ for being a min late at check in.
    I have a couple buddies who fished a big bass tourney several years back. Got back to the dock, tied the boat off, walked over with their bag and weighed in, solid first place bag.
    Walked back over to the dock, let the fish go, one guy went to get the truck, the other guy jumped on the boat , used the trolling motor to pull the boat around to the other side of the dock (maybe 40'), got the boat onto the trailer. Went and parked the boat, walked back over to the crowd for the final results (to get their check)...tournament director said they were DQd. Buddy who moved the boat didnt have his lifevest on when he loaded the boat onto the trailer. "Must have lifevest on when under power"
    Reality was that they weren't locals and the locals were mad that someone from out of town won their tournament, but rules are rules and it cost them a little over 5K in cash. Apparently the guys in second place saw them move the boat, filmed it and turned it into the director. Sissy move in my eyes, but it is what it is.
    OOF.

    Congratulations on your win. I have just started watching your videos recently. They are well done,entertaining, and educational. I hear you follow the teachings of Buck Perry. Depth and Speed are the keys to catching fish. In your opinion, based on your experience, do you feel catfish are as sensitive to the daily weather and water conditions in respect to their movements? Again, keep up the great videos.

      @Roberts810 I was meaning while he's drifting and the water gets deeper how far off the bottom does he let the bait get before he adjust for a new depth say he starts in 25 foot of water the drifts into say 30 to 40 feet of water do you adjust for just 5 feet or wait until it's 10 to 15 feet deeper to make adjustments?

    • @Roberts810
      @Roberts810 8 місяців тому +1

      @@Harv870 ohh I see what you mean! My bad! I've heard him say in some older vids that he keeps a good eye on his graph and makes the adjustments as quick as he can so his bait stays close to that 2 to 3 ft mark. I'm still trying to learn the drifting part myself so we normally just readjust periodically just to make sure the baits are close to were they need to be.
