I been looking at your channel for years now and never commented but always gave a thumbs up but always loved looking at you fish and it actually got me into cat fishing,, except I use a bass rader 10 e to fish out of and just now getting into trying to read lakes maps because of watching you so thanks for your channel and teaching me how to fish like this

That looks like a great way to spend a day trying something different. I am going to make a separate pan of cornbread about 1/2 inch thick . When the pizza is done I will cut a piece and put the pizza on the cornbread. Great way to spend Saturday morning drinking coffee outside and watching your video. I have my rods ready for tomorrow morning. I don’t know what to expect. The weather is 58 tomorrow morning and that is cold compared to the summer we have had. I am starting in 4-5 feet with fresh shad Have a good weekend great video
We love seeing those big fish. We grew up fishing the high Rocky Mountains clear up at timber line. We were lucky to get beautiful rainbow or spotted trout amidst the ice. Those fusg were fun, but much smaller. Either way, fishing is always fun.

Daphne the doc reminds me of my old late dog Lilly. She seems like a great dog I enjoyed watching her in the video as well thanks an good job again! 👍

He was really lucky that big blue wasn't around or he would never got to eat that fly. Glad to see it has warmed up and you had a good day. I also use a 7 inch leader with a size 1 baitholder hook. A sift plastic zero z too baby shad with a splitshot 8 inches above 7 inch leader with a hook. If I have caught bait fish ill use a chunk on the baitholder hook tied to leader with a splitshot. Also I'll use a santee rig or a dropshot to get to deeper water or midpoint of the river. I'll keep trying to bag catfish during the day.

I fish from the bank the only thing I have going is good rock music. The music doesn't interfere fish biting. Been trying to catch catfish during the day it's tough. I usually have luck when it looks like it's going to rain or at night.🙂

The bass pro fisherman, say the same thing about the fish feeling the FFS sonar ping on them. They say some bass seem to hit most don’t, and say that carp absolutely feel it and even run from it.
Good advice from a european carp fisher ! If you want the fish to comme up you must pull him down ! the fish will react by swimming up because he is pulled down 😉. This trick works 90% of the times ... now I hope you will read this tip
Its your setup that causes issue we use a 3 way swivel and weight on bottom and bait to side like a flag so u will be setup off the bottom naturally and reduce line twist as well.

It's a valid question - do fish feel it and are they bothered by sonar? If you ask divers that have been pinged by sonar from boats above, they'll tell you it's noticeable. We know that many fish use sound to communicate and hunt so I'm confident they would aware of unnatural sounds in their territory. Whether it bothers them - would love to know.
Sound travels through water 5 times faster than in air. Sonar pings are not a natural sound in the fish's environment. I guarantee all the fish can hear/feel them. In high pressured lakes, some fish probably know that sonar sound means danger
I always wonder if you’ve ever flipped your kayak? I know I took a good spill last summer on elk creek smallmouth fishing and it was quite the experience. Thankfully tho I wasn’t in 50 feet of water that you fish…

I too am from Michigan (mid west) my son and I have a passion for flat heads we do fairly well-I would love to see Justin come fish here-he might even gain a little respect for the Chanel cats we catch them from 10-20 lbs often they give a dang fun pull too ha ha good luck to all and tight lines !!!

It can be an adventure with me netting a fish especially after dark. We barely fish before dark. I never caught a Flathead during the day. Live bluegill mostly. I got a nice 28 LBer on cut bluegill. My buddies PB is 46. I know a guy that caught 130+ Flatheads last year.
We don’t use a net we grab them by the jaw-except those damn channels them we grab with grippers they like to clamp down on you and then thrash around,we use blue gill mostly also but rock bass work well too and we fish the brush piles and log jams get a lot of snags which sucks but that’s where the fish are
Why do you never try half backed skip jack ? baking with somme spices only the outside of the skip jack ?? So you can still hook it verry well ;-) it it is worth a try ! somme days if you catch nothing you could try to turn the tide with this . Lots of days if the fish dont take the traditional baits they will take sommething they dont know, just to taste it ;-)
