RIP Oberon. Thank you so much for the videos, man. I recently found your channel and been binging ever since. Small request which you can obviously take or leave: would love it if you didn’t spoil the death in the title. I’m at the edge of my seat in these hardcore runs, but not when I know the outcome 😂

Thank you for the suggestion! I admit that I've seen others spoil the end of a hardcore run and I took that idea and ran with it for the last few runs, but I absolutely get that it does ruin the suspense. I'll shift to try out keeping up the suspense when the video comes out for the upcoming playthroughs.

Didnt you have divine protection with Anomen?
Yes, but I think it only lasts for a very short time.
@@Redjoy123 Yeah, he had a lot of other spells up, but Divine Protection went away I think.
@@Redjoy123 well all your level 5 spells should be divine protection, and chain cast them.
I've been watching the recent crop of BG2 playthrough videos and I'm realizing... there's some very basic things that are glaring gaps that the current generation of newer players don't seem aware of. For example, you don't want to be ANYWHERE near strong melee foes if you have a ranged weapon equipped. The penalties (and bonuses foes get) are no joke.
I did like the name; Oberon fits well for an elven fighter mage. This version of Eldritch Knight is insanely overpowered btw; tempted to try it as I love fighter/mages but this homebrew kit is so obscenely overpowered I'm not sure I could play it in good conscience :)
The Eldritch Knight, despite today's performance, is very powerful. It's from the Artisan's kitpack. Definitely worth grabbing and trying out for multiple classes and kits, though I'll be scaling back on it (except for Monks because they REALLY needed it!).
Thanks, I do try to keep characters using missile weapons out of melee range (for that -4 penalty on them and that +4 penalty against them). That was one of the few things I learned from the OG game back in 2002 with those beautiful artistic loading screens. (Some of us aren't newbies, we just suck)
I definitely needed to handle Torgal WAAAAAAY differently! I tried to keep Torgal's pack in the room with the summons but I needed WAY better summons and I needed to actually go in.

@@MrSilverFishes That's rather harsh. Not everyone has played this game for decades, and CRPG players these days tend to lack the patience to dig enough to gain mastery of older, less forgiving games. It is what it is.
@@FanOfDaUnderAppreciated Well, we pretty much said the same thing, I was just a bit more direct (and I was joking). The whole "CRPG Players in this generation don't know how to do X..." comment seemed to be more than a bit passive-aggressive.

You fool of a Took, only Faldorn's ability to access 5th level divine magic could hope to withstand the awesome might of the Rocksmash Pack. Mayhaps a berserker druid would prove effective.
Although blackguard sounds pretty fun, too.
I do need to do another Berserker dual-class sometime. I feel like Berserker-Druid would be great BUT it would be VERY difficult to do since I'd have to have high Strength, Constitution, Wisdom, and Charisma along with decent Dexterity for survivability (though Dexterity might not be absolutely essential). Still, get that with Iron Skins, Armor of Faith, Insect Plague, and Elemental Transformations along with Berserk, that is a fantastically powerful combo!
