Can you read machine contents of each ingot type, and use that to fill them up to a set a mount for each type? With some sort of buffer area to store excess ingots, which get either periodically cycled through the system to fill demands, or perhaps a way to cycle precisely the ingots required to fill demands? Being able to use the fabricators in parallel seems like the next logical step in improving the system!
Your videos are incredible! It's not a simple step 1-3 how to set up X, but the much more appreciated walkthrough of the process involving setting things up. You're not throwing me a fish, but teaching me to fish. On Mars! Where there aren't any fish! That my friend is incredible

Interesting idea. I could use a silo for mass ingot storage and have the printers call for ingots when they run low. I will have to do some experiments.

Great Job mate. I really enjoy your videos there isn't much in the way of guides and tips for this game on youtube and the game's tutorial section is still under construction so it's nice to see someone offering very helpful videos on the game other than just mindless playthroughs.
I would however suggest that you would make a video on coding in general or how you approach it. I would love to see something like that.

As to requests, there's a bunch of things I never tried but feel prepared to do so now, but I'd still love to see your take on the AIMEe bot, the autominer (and how you handle mining stuff that offgases; presumably mining at night?), how AIMEe and autominer compare with their pros and cons and possibly a continuation of that with a second video where you harvest the mined gasses automatically and possibly automatically smelt the ores (up to 1kg or whatever value) of each type. I could see miners feeding into a series of stackers for each ore type, and automation to dispatch ores accordingly to create a given alloy - your furnace could already adjust pressure and temperature quite flexibly so I think that would be an amazing engineering challenge to throw your way. And quite entertaining ;)

AIMEe is something I am wanting to use. I will have to do a bit of reading first.

Hey, I know this video is kind of old, But this sorter setup is the one I like the most. Unfortunately this version of the sorter code doesn't seem to work anymore, any chance you could redo it?

Excellent build!!! How did you program all 3 machines (autolathe, electronic pr, and pipe)? Did you use 2 IC chips with same programming and pin the 3rd machine sorter and printer along with the end sorter?

@@cowsareevil7514 awesome. I thought that but I wasn't sure. However, I'm finding the sorters are alternating the output side. I have 6+ chutes between out of printer and input of sorter...but sorter seems to be alternating the output side....

@@joshuacollier4178 I have had other people reporting the alternating sorter bug but i cant reproduce in my game. Make sure you have removed and reinserted the chip to reset the code after setting it up. It may be a timing issue that shows up on some computers, you could try a "yield" command after "s sorter Mode 2" to wait for the device.

@@cowsareevil7514 any sorter that doesnt run in basic operations mode - ie no ic control and no computer programed sorting, will always alternate its input - so perhaps the sorter that is doing this is some how not connected/pinned correctly and thus is operating in free/basic mode?

    Complicated, overengineered, very Stationeers.
You could have just used the Sorter Motherboard for a computer, or had it *always* sort ingots in one direction, and just leave machines open that don't need ingots.
