Stationeers for Beginners - 6. Manufacturing & Chutes

Let's set up manufacturing and make extra items using the ingots we learned how to mine in the previous episode! I'll go over the autolathe, hydraulic pipe bender, electronics printer, tool manufactory and the other production machines. I will also show you how chutes are used, and a setup that helps keep your workshop compact and tidy.

Excellent work! I just bought the game and I've watched a couple of other videos. Those videos were just ok in explaining WHAT to do. Your videos on the other hand are excellent in explaining HOW and in some cases WHY to do it. You had me hooked in the first few seconds of your introductory "1. Interface & Controls". I know I'll be referencing your videos repeatedly in the weeks to follow. It would serve the dev well to incorporate your videos into their game, even if it's only a link to your channel when the player clicks on the "Tutorials" button. I personally prefer to place the stacker either directly beside the machine with 'one straight chute' spacing but without the chute, or on top of the machine with one corner and one straight chute and then an outlet to the left.
The gap allows me to put stuff into the stacker like the three cables or plates i have left in my backpack.
This also allows to use the coloring trick where items added to a painted stack will receive that color.
When the stacker is on top of the machine purging the ingots will drop them right in front of the inlet.
