Just what I needed to get started on the gases portion of my first easy playthrough. Thank you!

Sorry for the late reply. I am glad you found this video helpful. I was supposed to start a new series in which I go into more detail and show an alternative (and more realistic) way of filtering gases, but that has been delayed due to real-life challenges. Hopefully, next week, I can begin it.

@@lordblackwolf13I’ll be waiting heh, made this filter system just now

video is great! but in the beginning you said that there is no gas filters in real life, it's a fiction. but it's actually. there are membranes with micropore made of coal usually. pores are so tiny (can be nanometers) that one gas can adsorb on the membrane's surface, but other cannot, this happens with specific pressure and temperature. at this point it really works like filter, but further with other conditions you can desorb adsorbted gas. and efficiency of this is quite good

Interesting. As I understood it, those membranes remove particulate matter from the gas stream, not separating gasses themselves. Please provide a link to some more information on this. I am not in the industry, so I would like to learn more about the subject and make corrections for accuracy.

I am glad you liked the video. It is funny, because I always use more filtration units than AC units. I never thought about that until now.

will these tanks explode? there is no kind of overflow/pressure regulation required for each of the tanks? By the way, your explanations and pace of the video are great.

They can explode, but that is highly unlikely to occur. The pipes will burst before the tanks do. However, you would still lose all your stored gas. Using valves can be quite helpful in minimizing and even preventing this. However, pressure relief valves are a wise addition once you advance further in the game.
I will start a new tutorial series in January to improve my tutorial videos. It will probably include pressure relief valves and touch more on the physics involved. Thank you for asking this question, and I am glad you found this video helpful.

Easier way for your friend. You don't have to turn off your air before opening the helmet. Once you have your food and drink in your hands and helmet unlocked, simply hit i and immediately hold right click to drink/eat, then hit i to close your helmet until you catch your breath. Swap hands and repeat. It gives him less to think about at once, and creates some buffer time because of the break in between eating and drinking.

Indeed, but I wanted to give him a bit of a fright ;) As he is a new player, I decided to have us play on easy mode so that he does not have to worry about opening and closing his helmet.
