I was sitting between the start/finish line and turned 4 that day. As soon Ernie started turning sideways I remember thinking "Ohhhhhh Sh*t!!" My dad looked at me and I think he was thinking the same thing. 😅
Neil Bonnett Was Fired Number 21 Wood Brothers Hired Dale Jarrett Citgo 7 Eleven Ford Thunderbird Rest Of The Season Last But Not Least Rest Is History
@@jefferyrobertson7520 Ummm Neil was not fired, Dale Jarrett was brought in to sub for Neil during his recovery. Neil knew at some point he was going to want to drive again he just didn't know when, the seat was resigned to Jarrett for good starting in 1991 although he was only in the car for one season. Bonnet was still wearing Citgo gear throughout the 1990 season during his recovery.
@@vinewood8295 The Woods wouldn’t have fired Neil, to loyal. Even after his memory came back, got back in a Childress Chevy flipped over at Talladega and then got in the booth were he should have stayed.
51:45 and Ned Jarrett says "Now Dick Johnson did something there..." Immediately the producers get in Ned's ear. "No no Ned! Shut up about Dick Johnson!!! Dale Earnhardt is doing something!! He's adjusting the grip of his left hand on the steering wheel! My GOD!!!! We need to cover this!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

500 miles without stage cautions and a real points system. Wish NASCAR was like this now but with modern safety
