I read this comment before watching that part, and thought you were just being facetious. However, you are completely right! He does give an extremely good description of floating point arithmetic.
when you remember that he used to speedrun its not that impressive. sure not every speedrunner knows absolute in depths how tricks or other games work etc, but floating point rounding is just such a common thing in glitch videos nowadays :D
Of what country and time period? Remember the last upload, it took him 84 years to beat an easy music level. Dave is obviously an immortal time traveler who somehow live streams from the past.
Level hint: "Take me to pound town!" Brian: "I bet I have to flutter. No? How about cheese? No? Wait, I have to MASH THE GROUND POUND??" ................................................I. I just. What do I even say...?
That last one; similar thing can happen in Goose Goose Duck. If you press against a (south) wall and then move left or right at full speed you start to waddle but if you you gently move left or right you just slide along without triggering the waddle animations.
I love DGR, and appreciate when I get to see the magic of his 171 IQ showing off. But even geniuses have hangups, and sometimes.... Dave, you're trying to tongue Yoshi left. Stand on the left, Dave. The left, Dave. Dave, why do you need to stand on the right when you're facing right? Stand on the left, you're trying to tongue lef- STAND ON THE LEFT, DAVE. Edit: it didn't matter. DGR for traveling the p after you you get the pow block drop it the same spot as the p switch and it might bounce that off underneath the switch and it will activate after touching the ceiling and it probably do something with the muncher, try that.
3:54 I think you grabbed pow when it is still inside pipe. I made uno mas in smm2 where you could light bombs before they come out of pipe. So it is perhaps same princible.
16:23 Maybe Mario has to be on Yoshi when grabbing. I'm not sure how to achieve this but that's the difference from the successful attempts in the hint room
in hint room bumper / donut (people call those as they want) forced mario back on yoshi. in normal room it looks like the jump has to be just a tap (lowest mario jump possible) to land on yoshi right when tongue reaches pow block.
@@diabliqblack9921 There is one thing that I don't understand. In normal room the wall is 3 block wide, when in Hint room this is only 2 wide. I truly don't know, if creator mess up or this is pixel perfect movement to achieve this
I wonder how many years it took him to beat these, seeing as one of those easy music levels took him 84 years. How far back in time did Dave go and how did he get the technology to live stream from the past? I reckon that if an easy music level took him 84 years to beat, a good Troll level would've taken 1000. Hey Dave, can you tell us about the past? Was Jesus real? Was Cleopatra as attractive as they say? Did you run into any other immortal time travelers? Or no I guess since it was old Dave he was live streaming from the future. Ok, whats the future like?
with the door stuff, it probably is a glitch with a door off screen because as he exits the first door, the anymation or the black fading awai in a circle (oh nvm that was it )
Great analysis, thank you! Just a quick off-topic question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
How on earth are you editing levels you downloaded in mario maker 2??? When I played this game, you couldn't edit levels you downloaded like in mario maker 1.
@ Nothing DGR has done lately has been very good. I don't k ow what's gotten into him, but for the past few months, almost a year now his content has just had something about it that doesn't feel right. It's hard to explain, other than by saying "Dave seems depressed about something"
12:28 I'm impressed that Dave has so much knowledge about floating point rounding errors right off the top of his head, truly showing off his 171 IQ
He keeps looking to his left though; like he's reading it from somewhere.
I read this comment before watching that part, and thought you were just being facetious. However, you are completely right! He does give an extremely good description of floating point arithmetic.
yes definitely not reading from chatgpt, like why would he do that if he's so smart, he would never do that

Dave and finding unintended softlocks 😊

the intro is the best intro I've ever seen on this website

Brian: "I bet I have to flutter. No? How about cheese? No? Wait, I have to MASH THE GROUND POUND??"
................................................I. I just. What do I even say...?
That's Dave for you
10:21 😂 i love when he discovers the tricks lol that face
That intro also needed some vague finger pointing, like he didn't know where the levels he was talking about would be.
Looks like DGR needs a teleprompter.
10:54 "It's a good thing that I'm good at algebra." says the man who used his chat to solve the most basic algebra question.
12:21 Technically, y=5 on these levels (5th row with the beginning of the level being 0,0 on a graph is x,5)
Computers usually count starting at 0. On the first row, y=0. On the second row, y=1. So for the fifth row, y=4.
14:12 Bomb really said "if i go down, you go down with me" 💀

22:06 It kind of does make sense because Mario is just pretty much walking backwards if it was irl
I'm glad these unomas episodes still exist in 2025
Dave's reactions whenever the whole "I poop in the kitchen" snippet comes up always floors me. That never gets old. Never stop being you DGR.
