I recall the final moment of this episode always stuck with me.
"Why don't you come with me?
    "Why don't you stay?"
"Only if you can catch me."
That moment.....that moment.....Bart starts running, Clark playfully runs after. Bart has the lead, he knows it, waves goodbye. Speeds off. Then Clark stops as the music plays. I recall it was such a memorable departure. And it stuck with me.

When Bart gives Clark the hot babe's phone number and Martha's calls him, notice how Clark sneakily puts the paper in his pocket before he goes to his mom. One of Tom's most underrated comedic moments.

I agree, I wish they would have mentioned how Clark ditched town and hopped to another country to pick up girls lol. Bart also taught Clark how to enjoy using his powers, so much so that Clark decided to go for a run instead of taking the car. I also wish they mentioned the race at the end a little bit more and how shock Clark's face was when he realized Bart is so much faster than him. Go to any Smallvile site, UA-cam channel, etc regarding this episode and when people talk about this episode they also mention Clark's face when he sees Bart just zoom across leaving him in the dust. They also state the Clark showed no hate, no jealousy, etc but was happy to be around someone like him, well not like him, you know what I mean. I wish Tom would have given a little insight on how he played that scene and what was going through his mind.

The ending of this one is the most memorable moment of Smallville. Clark got to see the world thru Barts eyes and remind him its okay to have fun with your powers. The nod to that with Tom & Schneider and John asking Clark " Alright you wanna use the Truck"? Clark replying "Nah, I kind of wanna stretch my legs" was perfect!

Actually that's a really good point. First of all it's hilarious picturing young Kyle on the set like that, but it's actually weird how few characters in the show are like "HOLY CRAP YOU JUST THREW THAT GUY THROUGH A WALL!" Usually it's villains who are just mean and cranky about it, not as much room for fun surprise reactions.

    Also some funny facts:
    - The Lucifer from Lucifer TV Show is actually from the DC Universe, and his first appearence on a DC comic was actually a Superman comic!
    - In the crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths, Tom Welling comes back to play Clark Kent, and Tom Ellis to play Lucifer... putting these characters in the same multiverse.
    - That made Tom Welling accidentally play 2 characters from the same TV Multiverse (Clark in Smallville, and Cain in Lucifer)
    Another extra accidental fun fact:
    - Dean Cain (who played Clark Kent) shows in Smallville to play a DC character that is immortal and has lived since the beginning of humanity... just like Tom Welling's character Cain from Lucifer TV Show... that also played Clark Kent... 🤯🤯

Some version of a Superman/Supergirl vs Flash/Impulse race has appeared in pretty much every show or movie that has those characters and its always so fun to watch.
This was such an important step for Smallville, the beginning of expanding the world outside of just Superman characters. Season 4 is the first season of the show where there is an overarching season-long plot. The stones, the map, China, the Teagues, all related. I suspect they didn't have the whole thing fleshed out at the start, but when Jason's mother appears, it soon explains Jason, the tattoo, the stones and so on. Hope you guys get Jensen Ackles on the show.

I love the episode for many reasons, one being that it seems to be the first time Clark encounters someone with powers that didn't come from the meteor rocks (Kryptonite). So, this introduces the notion, for the first time in this series, that people who have powers don't always come from Kryptonite. Plus, you have someone showing up with superspeed (one of my all-time favorite superpowers, alongside Flying), like Clark, and for the first time Clark is really able to hang out with someone (who has a power like his) and not worry about them turning crazy or about keeping his secret. I also really like the ending with both of them running down a road with their superspeed, having fun. And this scene is also great because Bart shows Clark just how fast he is truly is. You have Clark in that scene already struggling to keep up with him, then Bart shows Clark just how good he is by turning around and running backwards, then finally (my favorite part) you see Bart super speed away, while they're already running at super speed. And this leaves Clark in disbelieve (that someone could be that fast) before he smiles, probably thinking how he has made a cool and great friend (this is my favorite scene in this episode, and maybe the entire series, but I have to think about that). And this made me come up with a theory about Clark and other people with powers from kryptonite (the meteor infected, also known as meteor freaks). We know that Clark blamed himself for the death of Lana's parents because they died in the meteor shower (which he arrived with in his ship), and this guilt probably increased when he discovered the meteors were remanences of his home planet Krypton (of course Clark is not responsible, but that is how he felt). So, it's logical to assume he might feel the same way about anyone that got abilities from the kryptonite, and any deaths that occurred by these people. So, maybe part of the reason Clark is able to have fun, and hang out with, Bart is because he knows Bart got his abilities from a different source, and not the kryptonite (but that is just my theory).

I’m so glad Kyle appreciates this episode as much as we all do! Such an underrated performance! The ending where Clark looks blown away how fast Bart was is so cool! They both really made eachother better people. Beautiful writing and acting on this episode. Can’t believe this wasn’t a 🌹 🌹! I probably rewatched this episode more than any other. Love the introduction to the Flash, Kyle Gallner definitely brought that fun charisma to the character, lots of witty dialogue, great lines foreshadowing and dropping hints for what these characters will become. Ultimately this episode was very well written.
I didn't initially care at this point for Lana's tattoo storyline along with the scenes with Jason but it's a little sub-plot that pushes the overall season arc/story forward.
Loved the growing Clark/Lex tension, their scenes are always great.
Another iconic moment at the end of the episode and Season 4 has plenty of them which is why it's in my top 3 seasons.

This was one of my favorite episodes. I wish that they could call Bart the Flash but they couldn't so his name was Impulse. The Lana and Martha reminded me of Clark telling Whitney he'd take the man over the memory when Whitney's dad was sick. The relationship between Clark and Bart was great. I loved the "League" comment and the look and Clark's face when Bart went supersonic. I did find it funny how Lex said he didn't want to keep secrets from Clark but kept the map reveal from Clark. This was a solid 2 roses for me. I really liked Kyle in American Sniper. He's really talented. Glad you guys had him on. I love how most of your guests say that they felt safe on your set.

Lex this season definitely crossed over to just being willing to straight up lie to Clark now. Something has been broken between them forever. After Clark discovered the room, and perhaps after the experience with his father and taking full control of Luthorcorp. He wouldn't mind being friends, but he has his own agenda that takes priority, and he's happily keeping up the facade of let's be friends without having the real heart behind it anymore.

I remember when I first saw this episode (I live in another country so there were no teasers or posters so I had no idea that Bart was going to be in it), it widened the Smallville world for me. For one thing, it was a sign that they were going to bring in actual DC characters and not analogues or poorly-disguised versions. For another, that there were other sources for superpowers that wasn't from Krypton (I also like how they never bothered to explain how Bart got his powers). Smallville always felt so self-contained, which was fine for the first 2-3 seasons, but now it was stretching its wings and this, for me, was them putting us on notice.

Clark quickly returns to "Being in the world, but not belonging to it!" 🥺 But living with someone you can compete with without having to hold back all the time is a great relief! It's another form of belonging, I don't remember it completely, but I think this question will still come to the football team. Reaching one's own limits, especially during adolescence, is fundamental to structuring one's self, but it is not always simple for those with high skills.
