Something I’ve noticed now is that the silo Juliet entered is much more artsy than the one we saw in season one. Nearly every wall other than the ones we saw in this silo’s IT has some sort of design painted on it. Perhaps this doesn’t mean much but the potential cultural disparity between the different silos intrigues me, even if it ends up having minimal narrative impact.
I get why they did it this way with 2 completely separate episodes. But, I get it now, I hope the rest of them are spliced with some of the story from each location
That's the big twist in season 1. They've building up to the idea that there's lush greenery on the outside and everyone is kept in the silo due to a lie. But it turns out last season in the last episode Julie's visor was projecting a false images of greenery and the silo inside was showing the truth on TV. But she manages to hang on and leave still. So we were left wondering is it toxic or not toxic outside? Then we start this season with a doozer with everyone next door dead from radiation. So Bernard was telling the truth. This is a nice double twist.
There are already enough mystery boxes in this show. We don’t need a mystery box of what Simmons wants and we don’t need a mystery box of the 2nd request from Knox to the metal shop. Cutting away right before someone finishes their sentence is something that “RINGS OF POWER” does to manufacturer more mystery boxes. Don’t do that.
Bernard can send group with full supported suit to bring Juliet back and show all what the status outside and everyone will know the truth and keep calm and the story will end.😂
Why would people keep calm when they know that other silos exist and equipment exists to traverse to those other silos. People would want to communicate and explore. I doubt they'll be happy inside when the outside isn't limited to the view from the screens.
My and I enjoy your podcasts immensely. Your insight and comments add to whatever show we view. We don’t always agree with each point but we respect them. Cheers!
Last season I did like Bernard even though he was the antagonist he seemed like he wanted to do what he thought was best for the Silo. I actually prefer TV Bernard over the Book version. Also given that Lukas has been sent to the mines and we have a new character in Judge Meadows who was Bernard's shadow I think she'll end up taking on some of Lukas' role from the books.
Notice Bernard saying that seeing those bodies outside "Looks like the silo went to war with itself." And that it could happen in their silo. Did "The Rebellion" really happen, or is that just a story that's passed down? Are they really putting stuff in the water to make everyone forget, like Gloria Hildebrandt says?
I'm guessing the silos were connected at one point before the rebellion that happened across all the silos and silo 18 had to flood or destroy the tunnel connecting them to the other silos
Great observation - there’s so much water imagery in the season already. It’s in the opening credits. Lots of shots of liquid going in drains. The flooded bottom of silo. Walker hosing everyone etc

Tanya Moodie as Judge Meadows is terrific! Tim Robbins is just plain creepy. Ultimately, I want to know when and why the silos were created and who created them. I hope that gets answered otherwise I'll be disappointed.
In the books it does. Though the series diverges from the books in parts I expect they'll answer those questions. Might be next season though since that's book 3.
there is one huge question which is not answered and is being ignored in every breakdown i see. Bernard (and his twins in the other silos) are basically maintaining and empowering the conspiracy theories of Juliet, Halstons and the rest while speaking the truth. the outside is toxic, going out is deadly even with the best equipment. why do it? Bernard is obviously not a cold blooded murderer and what he does is based on protocol and the best of the silo so why?

There would be a few people who would want to leave just because they're adventurous but most people have food, shelter, and nice clothing, why risk going outside or even wonder about what is outside?
Have not read the book. But I can't see how people can possibly believe it's safe outside. Atmosphere probably toxic. The suit, good tape, bad tape, just simply illustrates the situation. Also, the distribution of bodies, Juliette washing off her suit, suggests most of the deaths were due not to a melee from a crowd, but a mass environmental catastrophe.
I agree that there might’ve been something personal between Meadows and Holland. On the other hand, given her absolute disenchantment, her analogy between herself and the wizard behind the curtain, and ultimately, her desire to go outside and be free… I think she just couldn’t handle the hole truth about the silo and just wants to get away from it all. Sounds like a personal problem
I like everything and everybody in this series.
8:25 who is solo? How do you know his name?
It was in the trailer and all the promo material for the season.
@@PetePeppers1 okay thank you, i thought i missed something 😂
They are stretching out the material to the point of boring. The acting is inconsistent. DEI looks stale. And the scenes are too fucking dark, as in it's not well lit. The first Season was also the same but I hoped it would get better. It hasn't. Giving up on the show. Sad.
are you going to make the bear S3 recap?
I did a video for the ending. Might do a whole season recap before the next one comes out
I wonder if splitting the episodes completely by location is a way to save costs too if the actors are paid per episode…
Gotta fix that title, spoiler…
I was confused the entire time
What did it used to say
My wife and I.
wrong title and you are talking about episode 1 then episode 2 would lead to confusing
Or is he?! /screams
I don't see how the judge could be drunk every day for 25 years. Also, she'd probably have died from liver failure by now.
..... I know alcoholics that drink for more than 25 year now.
@@oThDeth sure, but they just don't pour their booze down the drain one day without going through DT's
Worse people have done more for longer
@@oThDeth You know people who are constantly drunk for 25 years drinking Vodka or whatever? They don't work and don't drive a car? It's seems the judge is constantly drunk.
Some alcoholics have genetically been blessed by long distinguished lineage of heavy alcohol drinkers with super livers and alcohol resistance.
Russians, Irish and Scots. But not the media's new stock character of the Strong Black Woman.
Why is this splitting away from what is in the books?
@@dffndjdjd they are not using cgi but a practical set mate
The fact that Meadows is asking Bernard for the good tape and Bernard previously saying that Juliette must have survived because of the tape, makes me believe that nobody really knew that the original tape was inadequate.
Did Walker know? and if so, how?
@@sharonhodkinson2011 walker is the one who swapped the tape...
Lol, they knew. The general public aka the audience is in the dark. Select people always knew. What we don't know is if outside has good air or not. Most likely there is some kind of control outside the tower.
@@shaha9 they knew for sure that the tape got people killed. its like that by design
Common needs some acting lessons. He's not good. The rest of the cast is excellent. It's bad that he was cast to play Simms.
I have a strong feeling that Judge Medos was in Juliette Nikols place once, she was outside, probably she came from another silo, maybe she actually was in the same silo Juliette saw and she was the reason the silo had a rebellion in the first place! And I guess that's what she meant when she referred to the Wizard of Oz.... maybe that's why she wants to go back out.
Is it somehow possible to order these season as a Blu-ray or DVD?
I don't think so
Ah, getting tired of the Hollywood "Strong Black Females in Charge !!" trope - with the boozer judge on a redemption arc.
Well do not watch it then! People are enjoying this show ya don’t like it F*** off. Greetings from Türkiye, I don’t know why do you Maga** hate AA people?
