Which communication tools can you use to build brands using this model?
There's the method and the mode... Your method is the way you communicate... the mode is your strategy for communication distribution...
A tool can be seen as "An asset" eg your verbal Identity, or a "platform or channel", such as your Instagram page or website
I remember learning this as an undergrad. Looking back at it now, its all theoretical and abstract BS with very little application to the real world, designed mainly to fill up textbooks. The study of marketing is the same BS regurgitated again and again, and over and over but in different ways and forms. You know its true.
