I have been looking forward to the engine swap videos . I would love to have the old LJ transmission but mine is an 03 so it wont work. Looking forward to the next video installment . Take care and be safe guys.
Once, when replacing the transmission on my LJ, we had fully drained the fluid and my buddy didn't notice the pan right behind his head when he laid down under the Jeep. Let's just say ATF-4 makes an interesting shampoo/conditioner LOL.
I’ve done video production in the past and I know how much of a job that alone can be. Thanks so much for everything you guys do. I am enjoying your channel immensely! I’ve said it before I would rather watch you guys than anything on TV.
That's funny, I was about to quote that also! I've had two projects recently where I'm constantly dealing with oil and coolant. Totally sucks. I'd much rather deal with rusty bolts on control arms:)
I asked my wife to pump the brakes on a classic car I have....not for a bleed, just to check something. Pumped them like 3 times. You would have thought I told we were moving and she had to do all the packing. My wife has never put gas in a car. She let's me know when she needs gas and I use her car that day. I hope I don't predecease her.
@@willb3018 oh man... If mine would have done this it would have been the last time she parked on my driveway. She's not a garage queen but not afraid to get dirty when it's time to do so.
I know that since you moved you haven't put out as many videos... It so sad... You have lives and children! 😅😂😭 But seriously, I love the dynamic you both have. The love for your Jeeps, upgrades, quality and having fun! While I'll probably never do a 4.0 to LS swap....(never say never) this is absolutely amazing! Keep driving those 'ronas, Ben! Cheers to 2021
Loving the videos. Keep 'em coming. Thanks for making a more comprehensive video of an LS swap. Novak would sell more parts if they did something like this.
Anytime I take on a job like this I get a cheap tarp from harbor freight and lay it down and also have a bucket of cat litter in case of spills. Makes clean up a lot easier especially if the floor is uncoated concrete.
My keeps been down for over a year now, kinda stuck with it. Story is, I was headed to work and it just gave out at 60mph. Engine Erving with no go. We just got my Jeep refinanced too. Got a loan on it, paying for a vehicle still, that can’t be driven... struggling to find a transmission. now I just sit in it, and dream of driving it again..
I've been leaning towards the 5 7 hemi so I'd have just one PCM and no adapter for TC to transmission, no emulator, etc.... I'm in Texas too, and I must have it 100% emission legal. The cesspool of Htown
Hi Cassie,. I'm a new subscriber...I love your videos... Very informative... I just ordered the TrekPow car battery charger , after seeing your video on it. 😊
Nice work! looking forward to seeing this pan out. Ive thought about putting a V8 in several of my jeeps over the years. Never had the guts. Maybe you'll inspire me :D
Protip: always have oildry handy at all times. 2 reasons: 1) clean up oil easy, 2) for the cases you actually get stuck in mud, will help to get you unstuck. EDIT: 3) extra weight if you live in a snowy area - like KS
CC. Strengthening plates for the V8 swap might be necessary as you're doubling the power and torque dear ? Could one just swap for the stick shift as I'm sure the 6 speed is strong enough ! V.
Just subscribed. Great content! I'm starting on an engine swap in my Comanche presently. One burning question though...how do you stay so clean?!? I mean me, even with gloves, hats, coveralls.....I still come out of the garage looking like a coal miner! What's the secret? haha! Keep up the good videos!
Love this! Question- Which one of you thought about removing the bumper/ winch ? As soon as the grill came out I’m like “that which has got to go! “ lol Thanks so much for these awesome vids : )
I'm Hector from Brownsville TX, are you going to sell your 4.0? I'm interested for my jeep tj, I want a 4.0 or 4.7 I'm looking for something at a good price
Hahaha...4 second in and I am busting into laughing out loud...let's see where this goes hahahah...oh and ben...get the dang buck man don't just stand there going "oooooo" hahahahaha. Keeping it classy hahaha

You guys are awesome! I wish my wife would help me like that with my Jeep. Thanks guys for the instructive entertainment.
Let her pick out a few small upgrades and let her install them with you!
I have been looking forward to the engine swap videos . I would love to have the old LJ transmission but mine is an 03 so it wont work. Looking forward to the next video installment . Take care and be safe guys.
For anyone interested in that transmission, the fluid looked pretty good.
You have now become the most bad ass jeep channel on UA-cam
on a good note, the Transmission fluid looked nice and clean. LOL.
Once, when replacing the transmission on my LJ, we had fully drained the fluid and my buddy didn't notice the pan right behind his head when he laid down under the Jeep. Let's just say ATF-4 makes an interesting shampoo/conditioner LOL.
Pulling out an engine while wearing crocs.. now that's a bad ass 👍
I love that you guys Jeep together. Keep on Jeepin on.
What you need is a 3 engine vertical rack, welded up with 1x1" steel tube, then you use engine picker to mount them.
I’ve done video production in the past and I know how much of a job that alone can be. Thanks so much for everything you guys do. I am enjoying your channel immensely! I’ve said it before I would rather watch you guys than anything on TV.
“Now that the floors covered in coolant I thought it’d be a good idea to mix oil in with it.” 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
That's funny, I was about to quote that also! I've had two projects recently where I'm constantly dealing with oil and coolant. Totally sucks. I'd much rather deal with rusty bolts on control arms:)
Basically every time I am messing with fluids in my garage lol.
I spill fluids all the time. I use saw dust over kitty litter. My floor is bare concrete so having sawdust always on hand is a must.
Wow! I can’t get my wife to even add washer fluid to her car! I’m beyond impressed!!

I’m loving what I see. Hurry up and get it done and let’s go wheeling. LJs rule
Can’t wait for the wiring video. I want an in depth like Ben’s axle video pretty pleaseee. 🙏

Happy New Year Cassie and Ben !! Hope you'll post so many videos in 2021 :) I'm hurried to see them ...
The wiring harness connector is near the rear drivers side shock and the fuel tank.
Put your shopvac in wet mode. Drain the rad via. As you pull the lower rad hose jam the vac into it with it on. Pretty low mess
Oooo, the carnage has begun. There’s no going back now
8:20 Been there before... its amazing how far that spreads, haha!
So excited for the next video in this Ls swap series, I've got an 05 tj that I want to do this to soooooooo badly! Love watching your videos!!!
It’s coming together guys!!! I’m looking forward to the LS going in!
Love your content
Great Video as usual Cassie, You need to open up your own shop! Keep Jeepin Classy Cassie!
Cat litter is good to clean up fluids. Just grind it into the stain on the concrete with boots and it will be less noticeable.

I’m doing my LJ at the same time. What’s the odds?!
Hahahahaha “Who said we should drain the transmission fluid” love it.
Love the crocs. I use mine all the time
im not sure if it get mentioned, but if your AC system is still working, make sure that you have a shop evacuate the ac system

You are really worried if you have enough space ? Would kill for a garage like yours
I'm about to do the same swap in my 95. Would you recommend this 4 years later or is there anything you would do differently
Awesome Job! Happy New Year!!
Serious question, the 4.7 engine from a 2005 cherokee laredo can be fitted to a Tj
The 6.4 hemi jeep wrangler rubicon is supposed to come out soon this month at dealerships it will be available on a rubicon wrangler v8 option
77k
CC. Strengthening plates for the V8 swap might be necessary as you're doubling the power and torque dear ? Could one just swap for the stick shift as I'm sure the 6 speed is strong enough ! V.
Happy New Year
How do you not have a bag of speedy dry in the garage?
That's a lot of Transmission fluid...I got to bring my WJ to the dealer for a small leak today. So hopefully it was just a bad seal.
Happy New Year. I’m anxious see your fuel mileage improvement. Hopefully you logged the MPG since you upgraded your axles and went with 37’s.
We’ve got a bleeder! Great video!
Swap is gonna be SWEET! A mess is always a fun experience, no going back to clean 😂. May as well watch it
Ben just standing there watching the fluid run out 🤣
At least we know the trans was healthy and not full of dirty fluid!
You’re gonna have to get a big vacuum to scrub them floors clean
Where did all that fluid come from? Transmission & transfer case are both sealed
The transmission output seal rides on the input shaft of the tcase.

Lol Ben and I could be doing the same project, and he always comes out 9373839 times dirtier😂
I hate transmission fluid 😅 it stinks you guys are awesome 🙏🏼🤙
Nice removal wit only the usual hiccups. :)
You can’t make an omelette with breaking a few eggs. 🛢🍳
Great content! 👍
Love this! Question- Which one of you thought about removing the bumper/ winch ? As soon as the grill came out I’m like “that which has got to go! “ lol Thanks so much for these awesome vids : )
Me! Lol. Ben was being optimistic and hoped we could leave it😂 definitely needed to remove it to pull the engine and transmission out.
That's Cool,Woman that can Wrench her own Ride, and Cute Too!👍😊
I'm Hector from Brownsville TX, are you going to sell your 4.0? I'm interested for my jeep tj, I want a 4.0 or 4.7 I'm looking for something at a good price
I can feel dexter getting goosebumps.
How much is the cost . Engine.transmission. Computer. Labor. Etc. Is really worth .
Will be talking about that at the end of the swap. Trying to keep it around 5-6k. Yes it will be well worth it
How did you make your guages work
nice work guys
If you sell the cats I would like to buy those. Im needing a set.
That's what floor dry is for 👍
How do you like the badlands Apex winch? I just got one. All the reviews and specs look good.
So far it’s been good!
You did take the transmission fluid out in the end tho.
I know two years have passed. But, may I have the old engine and transmission?
I’ll take the engine for my 87 wrangler
So what are you gonna do with the 42RLE?
I need a trans for my TJ!! 🙋🏽♂️
It is for sale
Good stuff keep it coming
are you guys in texas where are you
Had me LOLing! Thanks for that.
Selling old 4.0 engine or parts? Would like to get your cats you just put on...
Jacinda Ardern??
On the trans, we may need to talk. my 01 tj clutch is on last leg and considering going auto...I might be in the market soon
Sadly this trans won’t work. It’s only for the 04-06
@@JeepGearGadgets There ya go. Thanks for the input, I had no clue.
Great video
Where can I find a woman that likes to drink beer and work on vehicles that’s wifey right there
for the win
Texas? I thought you lived in Canada for some reason ...
Next engine swap.....get done kitty litter on hand. It’s great for cleaning up spills.
Ben... Shouldn’t we drain all the Fluids? ... Ben ... Why ? 😝
How many miles are on the trany?
Nice. And a really hot ass mechanic.
The forbidden sweet 'n' sour!
Hahaha...4 second in and I am busting into laughing out loud...let's see where this goes hahahah...oh and ben...get the dang buck man don't just stand there going "oooooo" hahahahaha. Keeping it classy hahaha
Right!! He just stood there filming the mess, the damage was done😂
Does Cassie have a twin by chance?
Great video you guys make me laugh.
What ya going to do with the old engine, as I'm currently looking for a 4.0 L for my 2000 Jeep Wrangler TJ?
What is Ben's channel?
JK gear and gadgets
I keep most my old parts
The best way to prevent a mess like that on your garage floor is a kiddie pool
At least your fluid is clean hahaha
Y’all make it look so easy 😭
Your smile betfful
it seems she's handling all work including the house I can see his drinking all time hope don't go drunk otherwise ll miss up with all swaps :)
Just because somebody is seen with a drink doesn`t mean they`re a drunk, Shirly. GTF over your self. Here she comes to burn me now.
@@REDMAN298 take it easy man, just a comment no big deal :)
Would rather have the LS engine myself
I just do not have the patience for a job like this. I admire those who do. How much cursing had to be edited out ?
