    Question..... What's your favorite grease for definition?

    • @coronavirus5738

      Blue magic, $1 softee Indian hemp and soon I will bring in Dax. I use leave in before applying bc it helps the grease. Leave in mixed with grease turns it custard like😌

      That Indian Hemp that she mentioned 👇🏾 is pretty decent! & it smells soooo good. And in my head, the pieces of hemp does something special to the hair... I braid kids hair with that often. Blue Magic, the Blue is my favorite. Use that often. Need more as I'm out of it.
      And sulphur 8 grease because sometimes my scalp gets itchy and flaky. Sulphur 8 keeps the flakes at bay!
      I saw your hair in the mentioned video & was wondering if it was a wig or not? It looked REALLY GOOD!

    Your videos on grease have definitely inspired me to try using them again. Esp. since I've been lazy about my hair recently and haven't felt like re-moisturizing multiple times a week (which is what I usually have to do). So having a strong enough sealant to keep the moisture in all week sounds perfect.

    Also you want to use a castor oil or grease when straightening because THICK oils won't break down as quickly as synthetic oil which is a thinner oils, usually in spray bottles. Hair will be weighed down but won't damage hair.

  • @marianb2530
    @marianb2530 5 років тому +7

    I could see why the grease side has less definition...due to heavier oils/butters in it. Overall, both sides looked good and I think it is a matter of preference. I liked the JBCO side better. For my type of hair, more definition looks better on me - except I don't always get what I want, lol! Yes, most important is the moisturization...I almost got caught up in your definition. I get heavy-handed as well when it comes to products. It feels like it is not enough, then all of a sudden, it is like overkill! I am mindful of how much I use now. TFS.

      I saw this in an article on toxins in air fresheners. Interestingly, those ingredients are in some of my Mane Choice products. Crazy how much stuff can be a problem.
      They go on to say that a 2002 EPA test found that fresheners plugged into electrical outlets react with common indoor air pollutants to produce toxic chemicals like benzene derivatives, pinene and limonene, aldehydes, phenol, and cresol. Pinene and limonene apparently react with ozone to create formaldehyde and other chemicals connected with respiratory problems. Other toxic chemicals found in air freshener plug-ins include benzyl alcohol, camphor (known to cause eye and skin irritation), dichlorobenzene (toxic to the nervous system), ethanol (derived from petroleum and considered carcinogenic), and more. The MCS concludes, “Indoor air quality experts recommend against using chemical air fresheners and/or chemical room deodorizers of any kind.”

    Since the JBCO SIDE felt more moisturizing does it also leave less residue.......on face pillow clothes etc

    I used to use that JBCO Grease like 4 yrs ago before I knew my hair, was transitioning to newly more educated natural (again). I LOVED it for its scent mainly. Funny enough, was thinking to revisiting that again after your last video cause this LOPO hair is GREEDY! And remembered from then that my hair would stay moisturized AND soft for DAYS!🙌🏽🖤

      Regular castor oil is more refined than JBCO: it does not retain all the nutrients from the castor seed

      @@SheReaDelSol thanks so much for the quick reply! I didn’t notice my mistake in my first comment, but what I meant was I saw people were using it online as a sealant instead of a moisturizer/cream, but I bought it to replace my Dax to use as a moisturizer, and use my Jamaican black castor oil as the sealant. Do you think that would work?

    First-you hair is THRIVING❤️ I’m here for it.
    Second-Residue is why I haven’t added grease back into my regimen. I tried it for a week for my mini twists and I used so so so little lol but my hair and scalp still felt so plastered and coated. Issa a no for me, again. But I needed someone to do this comparison so I know I’m not crazy lol. It really was a close race though.

    Petrolatum is a derivative of Petroleum which is a known carcinogen and it’s the first ingredient, and all the items at the end of the isn’t you are barely getting any of it in terms of effective amounts. If it’s not in the first 5 those are the items that have the most impact . I’m still taking a hard pass on the grease no matter what they add to it a cancer causing ingredient I can’t do 🤷🏾‍♀️
