I eat peanut butter and/or cheese sticks as snacks. I don't use regular sugar. I use sugar alcohols. Vegetables are a big part of my meals. We get our eggs from a farm too. Essentially, I really control my sugar consumption.

We have a loose weekly menu that goes something (but not always) like this:
      Mondays - chicken and veg
      Tuesdays - Tacos
Wednesdays - Cheap Food (Eggs on toast, ramen, veggie burrito bowl, etc)
Thursdays - Something ethnic? or soup?
Fridays - The kid and the husband have pizza. I have something else.
Saturdays - Junk food: hamburgers or something
      Sundays - Spaghetti
While One day in the week is "cheap food", actually, most days are pretty dang cheap, except for Fridays. We never have beef or pork, except ground beef - too dang expensive. I'm trying to incorporate more vegetarian meals as prices on food have gone through the roof. Kind of not ok when the veggies we usually get have gone up by 50% in a couple of weeks.

I eat either toast or oats every morning, green tea everyday morning.
Lunch is always a variation of tofu salad wraps (what salads go in varies but always have wholemeal wraps with hummus as a base)
Dinner is what varies a lot. It could be anything from oatmeal, veg stir fry, veg noodle stir fry, or other dishes. Sometimes Pizza. We're plant based so most our fruit and veg is seasonal to save on produce cost. Having a eating script definitely saves money and reduces decision fatigue. 👌

I liked that you were honest about the amount of food you eat. So many women on youtube show what they eat in a day and I'm like "I would starve if I ate that little." It leaves me wondering if they have seconds and just not show it.
I fast for about 15 hours. I notice that my gut is happier with a longer break from food and I'm not hungry first thing in the morning. I drink water and then a cup of tea with collagen first thing.

That’s me too. I drink water, coffee, make eggs and spinach and sometimes quinoa for breakfast. Snacks consist of nuts or yogurt with some toppings like chia or nuts or berries. Lunches are fresh veg and salad. Dinner varies but I focus all my attention on veggies or grains and meatless “meat”. If I do buy meat I don’t eat much of it, avoid red meat and pork. Not a fan of dairy. Would be a vegan but I do eat eggs and butter so I can’t say I am vegan.

Trust me, eating plant based seems difficult at first (breaking the old habits), but trust me when I say it gets easier! And honestly, after years of no longer eating meat, I don’t even think about it anymore. Also, our recipes have been so much more diverse and tasty, rather than how we used to eat (meat, potatoes, veggies).
Definitely keep at it! It’ll get easier :)

Watch for arsenic in rice. Idk if it's enough to matter, but wanted to alert ppl who didn't know. Quinoa has less and Oats have less and Amaranth and some other Grains. Also, white rice has less arsenic than brown rice. I used to eat white rice every single day and after several months I got really sick...and the neurologist found arsenic in my urine in high amounts which she found very odd.

I personally think minimalism goes too far if it gets to the point where you cant even have a different food from time to time, and you miss out on so many delicious foods. And it is not essential to stay healthy. But overall it is a good idea to not buy too many different things at once as the more different foods you buy the more money spent and probably more food waste if those are fresh foods. Saving time in the everyday is also good. Balance is the best I think. But that is a lot a question of personality, preference and sometimes physical health factors.
Seeing the comment section I think too many people complain about you not being fully vegan, and dismissing the effort you do make (in extra money) by buying the most ethical animal products you can find. They should be glad people do SOMETHING in a better direction, in many cases the alternative is people doing nothing. How an animal spent nearly its entire life make a huge difference. Im not sure about your reason for not going plant based, but I fully understand it. Because I felt miserable on a plant based diet, and even just with less meat over time, things did not get better over time, rather my energy faded away gradually. Nowadays I eat "normal" amounts of meat, but do the same as you and buy from brands with better animal welfare, or wild animals

Great video Gabe, I would say though to get the anti inflammatory benefits from turmeric needs huge amounts. More than someone can reasonably eat in a day. You can buy the refined active ingredient Curcumin though which as been very effective for me.

This in incorrect. In order to aid absorption, adding cracked black pepper can help. Supplements don't work as well as eating turmeric. Take a look at the scientific papers it's interesting stuff 👍 Placebo effect though? That's also real, so if you believe the supplement works for you that's not an issue.

If you watch a previous video How I save 30% on my food bill then this one. DUHH Butcher block and before saying avoid food in small packages. Shop almost expired food and off brands instead of name brands. Here with a sponsor now saying opposite.
