Decluttering my bedroom, so I’m at the stage where I’m hungry and I need to watch a decluttering video to keep me motivated! I like your videos thanks for the inspiration! Now a book that they don’t let you read in school and is life-changing is the Bible🙌🏼
I find watching a episode of hoarders helps motivate me to tidy, clean and declutter areas. Coz i never want my space getting that bad so theres only 1 way to stop that happening lol
You should know that your content is part of a lot of people's obsessions. Watching you once per week is part of our knowledge active exposure / compound effect. Everything you acquired in terms of knowledge, you're giving back to the world, and that's amazing. Be proud, my dude.
I really appreciate it!

That and they named their beautiful baby girl Laura💞 (yes, ima Laura🥰) Love this kid and his sweet family🤩
And yes, this is my kids account😂😂😂🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
Obviously, you didn’t need college, you are so smart…keep being true to who you are and what works for you!!!
I freaked out a little when I first started watching this. I relate so hardddddds. The obsession. Personal fiancé. Books. I feel like a crazy person sometimes but this made me feel so fulfilled. So calm.
Toyota was a company that was built on incremental changes, over a period of years.
Amazing! U rock! :)) nice finding a productive obsession is I think one of the best things that can happen to anyone
💯☕
You’re almost there. You got this! 👍🏼
Consistency is key for so many things. Great video man! I enjoyed it
Thanks 🙏
Love this channel
I write down everything! Have retirement budget and list of things I want to do when I retire. Which in less than 2 years.
Awesome! 🎉
I don’t know if you’ve mentioned but what kind of fire place is that? It looks rad! Thanks for making great videos and they definitely keep me on track. ♥️
Where did you get that leather couch? It’s awesome
Great stuff! I agree committing to something small leads to something big. If I set a goal to work out 4 times a week for an hour it’s too big for me right now and I’ll end up not doing any workouts. Instead I have a blank hundreds chart on my fridge with no preset time amounts or weekly numbers. Instead whenever I do any physical activity for any amount of time, I color in a box. It’s helping me build momentum and celebrate the small wins whenever they happen.
💯
52 books in 52 years wouldn't be thaaat hard ;) great tips 😊
Love it ! Thank you 🙏
Watching your channel change our life... gabe 🙂👍🏻
I and my 11 years old son are your fans. He likes your video a lot about decluttering and act directly. It makes me surprise.
Greeting from Indonesia.
Awesome to hear!!
Thanks for providing lots of great tips and reminders to help jumpstart a productive, grounded week ☮️

You are one of the smartest people .
Excelent content like always💥

That is a lovely video, really stands out!
Thanks 🙏🙏
“Cleaning the house every night.” “Getting 8 hours of sleep every night.”You may find yourself adjusting these after the baby arrives. 😉❤️
Not necessarily! I have 8 kids and although there are always tough seasons with sleep. Overall you Can still do the things You have control over like cleaning your house. As a Minimalist, cleaning your house is pretty quick.
That's true lol but just going to keep doing our best
I know you’ll do great! I only mentioned it because nobody really told us about sleep deprivation when we were expecting our first, and it was a real shock that disrupted our lives (mine especially) for months. You may be spared the worst of it, but it’ll help to keep your expectations of yourselves low in the beginning.
Lol yeah - every kid is so different. Thankfully my first baby slept through the night starting at 4 weeks with no sleep training or anything, but having another one soon and scared they won't sleep as well since it seems like so many people have sleep issues after kids.
Just a quick one Gabe. You could start using positive/enabling language with the subscribe request. "Remember to subscribe" instead of "don't forget to..". It'll stick better. (and yes, there are books on it if you want to read more) =)
Go Mr Miniamilist LOL Gym membership and home equipment. Nice gym shoes. How many TVs have you counted in Mr Minimalist house? Play the game! lol
David Parker - I’ve noticed on every one of these videos, you leave a negative comment. You never have anything nice to say. So my question is, why do you keep coming back here? If you dislike it so much, that can’t be good for your mental health.
@@susannovak8263 Why do you? This guy is so bad he has a cult following playing a game with his repeated advice, out right wrong comments, and contradictions. Do you watch to get actual advice? LOL
Another very useful Video! Consistent work outs big time has helped me with anxiety, calming down and OfCourse overall health. You seem like you have read a TON of books looking at all of them in the background of your video!
DELAYED GRATIFICATION! YES!! so, agree with this!
OMG, Counting calories SO SUCKS! I did that for the longest time and now I'm more like you, now I have a better understanding and now do not count them.
Also love your nighttime routine so to wake up ready to go! And in the morning, I cannot leave my house unless my bed is made, it drives me crazy,
Looking forward to seeing you hit 500,000SUBS! Been watching you for few years now.
Thanks 🙏🙏🙏
Yeah counting calories does suck but it's been really useful for me to understand
Great video!
Thanks 🙏
I also have alarms to wake up at 6:05am and 6:10am. Five minutes earlier is too early. 😂
Can you tell me some of the podcasts you listen to also?
I also have an addictive personality. It's a problem sometimes and I wish I could do things in a balanced way, but I have learned so much about personal finance and health focusing on those. Just have to stay away from bad things haha.
Yeah it can be a good thing when used correctly
I prefer not to buy too much stuff too
I'm not going to count calories, but everything else you mentioned is very helpful! I just focus on eating clean & how they make me feel.
But it's good to have an understanding of your body and what's going into it
@@GabeBult I agree.
Loves it 😍

It probably takes more than a few minutes to talk yourself out of getting it done in 2 minutes.
As a retired college history professor, I wish you were my student. You are extremely bright and your verbal skills are excellent. But people like you are self motivated life learners.
When I was a young, single mom of 3 children, having goals, and working on a step toward it each week, was such a life saver. As I saw the bits of progress I could consistently make, that helped give me hope that life would get better.
"single mom", now _THAT'S_ pressure, forcing you to define essentials and priorities. Coming up with an actionable plan you can work through step by step to achieve set goals is an empowering feeling second to none imo. 👏🏼
"I occasionally get obsessed with random stuff, maybe there's something wrong mentally" -- This is ADHD haha it's also why your delayed gratification and using a "chase" mechanism works so well for you. Amazing content man!
All good stuff here, but I believe North Americans would really benefit from understanding delayed gratification.
Totally agree
Yes
I think we are very lucky that in this day and age we have such access to learning through the online sources that are now available. Totally agree on daily exercise/work outs. That reminds me, I need to go do some yoga. While I exercise a lot, I don't stretch much and I am old (63) so I have gotten very stiff. So many helpful and motivating suggestions that you have shared!
I originally wasn't going to watch this video, but now I'm glad I did. This was refreshing to watch compared to other videos like this because a lot of what you said was very relatable to me. Especially listening to you talk about struggling with procrastination. The part where you were talking about becoming a personal trainer, and then realizing you had to study and talk to people had me lol, because I was in the same boat at one point. Love the content and will be trying to implement some of these tips!
My favorite quote of the day: "You eat a cake, and 5 minutes later you just feel tired."
I literally make a list every year of all of my obsessions because I get addicted to learning about random new things really easily 😂 I love that that made it on your list! It can be a bit unhealthy for me at times if I'm too obsessed, but that's also how I've been able to improve my life in a variety of aspects.
Because of the economic crisis and the rate of unemployment now is the best time to invest and make money
Scam much ??
Omg this is me! I obsess 100% about something. Literally can’t sleep because I’m researching, learning, mastering a skill, whatever. Then 6 months later I’m obsessing about something else.
Staying aware of what's going on around me and cleaning up as I go is a great topic. Cleaning up at night is great. But, of course cleaning up after yourself eliminates the need to do that. Put things away as you use them is something I'm getting better at. New to me is also, going to bed at a certain time, and waking up at a certain time has become important. I feel so much better, along with doing a morning routine to get my day started. I'm not great in the morning, so getting that routine to be rather automatic, is great. I'm not there yet, but try less to talk myself out of doing certain things. I just have to go back and do them, anyway. It really helps to have less stuff I don't use. That's a biggy. Thanks for talking about what's working for you. It inspires me to give it a try. Lynn
I obsess about things too. Things that interest me. I dive into them and read watch listen to everything I can find. It’s great. Just found your channel and loving watching. Love your aesthetic and your home. Thanks
Uh, using a towel as a slider is the best camera hack I’ve seen in awhile. I’m totally stealing this. I refuse to pay for an expensive slider.
all this "obsessing about random stuff* it's my lifestyle and I'm autistic and I have ADHD, I don't know, everything you said, especially in this video, resonated with my life so much! Thank you for sharing all your tips, you are doing a fantastic job!
Your background music is becoming your foregrounds music. Too loud. Hard to listen to you with the music
I want you to get a tesla so I instantly subscribed :D But to be honest - your voice is really calming, I really love listening to you! I started binge watching all your videos today ;)
🙏
The "obsess over a random thing" is called hyperfocussing. I'm not a medical doctor but I recognise ADHD when I see it 👀 cos I do this too 😅
Came here to say the same thing lol.
Me too😅
great content man. just discovered your channel today and i must say, your topics are so interesting. new follower. also where do you purchase your jeans?? specifically the black ones with the lateral zipper pockets. thanks man
Oh not sure if my comment will earn a reply but yeah same. Mirror to mirror with the videos.

Honestly one of the best videos I’ve ever heard - I listen while I’m at work cleaning 😆. By far the best tips in this one! THANK YOU
Hi Gabe! I want to make you laugh today: 1) Spending more money; 2) Smoking cigarettes; 3) Eating junk food; 4) Stop drinking coffee; 5) Buying expensive clothing; 6) Not saving money; 7) Buying expensive cars; 8) Stop exercising; 9) Stop reading audio books and finally 10) No more decluttering! hahaha :P I think I understand pretty well the purpose of your channel, do I? :D
Lol exactly
"..talking to people."..
Yes, terrible!! 😂😂
Lol ikr

Yes, I meant what you said in 1:40!
Sounded so funny. 😅
(I don't mind talking to people. 😄)
Gabe Bult - you are an inspiration!
I work out and definitely see the difference. I'm obsessed with organizing our home. It's getting there. I have been reading finance books for years. Delayed gratification? There's nothing I want. Cake doesn't appeal to me.
World peace?. Cake by the ocean?
@@kimgordon3695 World peace would be nice. No cake by the ocean. Plenty of seafood in the ocean might be nice, too, considering our oceans are overfished.
I really enjoy the consistency on Mondays! I look forward to the notification! Also, I like the tips and jumped on the wagon to read at least a page in a book because I’ve been wanting to get back to reading. I’m also a short term goal person. I don’t know why but it makes sense. Thanks for making these habit vids, sharing knowledge empowers the community! 👍🏻
I have it I try to break a lot of them down that way so that I only need to do the smallest amount to stay on track
Help for the journal? In 1 place it says its $67. But then in another place it says its $311? How much does this book cost?
Incredibly enthralling work; akin to a book that was captivating and thought-provoking. "The Joy of Less: A Minimalist Living Guide" by Matthew Cove
Good stuff Gabe. I liked your point about doing a little every day, like reading just one page. There’s a lot of residual positive effects to doing that. I’m adding a weekly goals calendar to my journal after watching this.
"it was said 1450 years ago"
'A'isha reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: The acts most pleasing to Allah(God) are those which are done continuously, even if they are small. and when 'A'isha did any act she did it continuously.
Sahih Muslim 783b
I'm 4'11" tall, and I learned about calories many years ago, but it also changed my life. I don't obsess about it, but I do keep a very lose running total in my mind each day to keep myself in check. If I go to dinner, or eat some sweets one day, I will just cut back for several days... to maintain my weight!
Yeah you don't have to obsess about it but just having an idea is super helpful for me
I do the same now.

Delayed gratification certainly is a complete game changer, unfortunately no one told me this in school. But better late than never....most success in fitness and work so far can be trailed back to this for sure. Also: calories, yes this as well certainly is a life changer. I lost 10kg and have been constantly in the best shape physically and mentally ever since. Great content here! Greetings from a Swede in Beijing 🌆🏯
This is just an observation question. When in July is you birthday? (Coffee cup caught my eye because my birthday is July).
I’ve actually found that contentment is the fulfillment. I have a used 2013 Model S Tesla. Every time I drive it, I am content. It feels like the first time I drove it. I never bore of it. I am happy. Right now it has a charger port issue and needs to be fixed. Even as it sits idle in my garage I’m grateful for it. Once it works again we will save money on gas once more. The more we spend on gas with my husband’s CRV, I’m grateful we have that vehicle to share and also appreciate the amount we did save while driving the Tesla. How much the repair is worth to us on a daily basis once we get that done.
There is nothing fulfilling in chasing, only in each moment of experiencing anything. It’s not about HAVING, but about enjoying: and you get to enjoy or not enjoy in each moment. That’s a choice. With or without a Tesla, I enjoy life.
I watched another video first which commented that the fans notified you of your ADHD 😂 . It's so funny, you explaining the way its helped you sounds like me talking to my psychiatrist! 🤣
I always moved up into worst home in best neighborhoods i could afford. Never paid rent in my life! Eventually rolled into large nice view 🏡 by golf course in Southern California, made huge $$$ to sell and retire at 53. Best investments ever
@ 8:20 you said that people are entitled and they feel they deserve new cars I agree but I also believe people scrutinize others for not having nice things or people think they are being scrutinized for not getting a new car when there car is like only 2 years old they are like "ugh my car is so old it's embarrassing" people are veryinto themselves and think that other people care about them. But what I've learned is that no one is worried about you EVERYONE is so selfish they are worried about themselves and if they are worried about you they suck and need to get a better hobby because I'm not changing jack about my 2003 Honda Civic that has 145,000 miles that I've had for 6 years (btw I copped it at 80k miles in almost mint condition for 5k) I'm gonna ride that thing to the ground I ruined the crap out of it because it's my first car but I take care of what's under the hood and I no longer hit curbs anymore or smoke so I don't burn the interior of my car anymore so now if I was to get a newer car I would be straight but I don't want to because I appreciate the one I do have everyday I drive it and always feel like I'm cheating the system. Investing in your pantry is also a smart move say you are out of work due to illness you at least don't have to worry about grocery's I have grain in 5 gal buckets on DECK
So you’ve basically just got yourselves all together… your sweet little gift will reset ALL of that within its first 24 hours 😂😂😂 Sure you guys are up to it though 😝
If you don't need it why does anyone else need it. Donation is not a good reason. Keeping 3 coats is better than filling the land fill with last year's coats, and buy another one next year when you loose this ONE coat. Donating a useless kitchen item just goes in the landfill. It doesn't change the life of someone in need. Let's be clear.
BTW... Love your videos.
Hello Gabe,
May you share me the link of the journal you mentioned in minute 13:15 of the video?
Thanks!
Obsessing about something for a few weeks or months and then moving on to something else later can be an ADHD symptom / indicator. Not that that's what it is, just mentioning it.
P.S. Love your channel!!
No closed captions made me sad! Don't understand anything you say without closed captions. 😥
Thought this might help you gabe with having a new baby on the way. I am a new mom. Sleep is very important for babies too. Sometimes newborn babies cry in their sleep. Pause before picking up otherwise you could be interrupting their sleep cycle. Also highly recommend reading the book 'bringing up bebe' great chapter on sleep for babies.
Wish someone had told me this as a new parent. Xx
Appreciate it!
@@GabeBult you are welcome 👍
Obsessing about something for a month or two then moving on to other things sounds so me.. We'll, I learned something's but not expertise level. Don't know how to leverage that.
What resources were your favorite when diving into financial independence?
I revisit your channel over and over to help motivate me. Thank you
could you consider activating automatic subs for the hearing impaired people? thx a lot
Why I ask myself is it so difficult to stick to an exercise routine? Future tips would be great. Ty
Your journey is incredible - well done! I love your channel. I am going to share it with my sons who are in their twenties too! Thanks 😃😃
This person seems single with not a lot of responsibility. It's easier if you do not have others in your environment or people to care for. I will say the advise given is good to go by.
pls turn on the captions so that a non native english speaker can understand the accent...great vid btw ;)
Agree! Hard of hearing here!
Ok I'll do that thanks 👍

Well, the sleep schedule will change when your precious little one comes along.
Yeaaaa lol but still gonna try to do the best I can
I don't know why people keep saying this. Its not that difficulty to go to bed early. Granted you need 10 plus hours in bed to make up for nighttime feeds and actually get 8 hours asleep. Go to sleep 10 o clock and get up at 8. Also they are two adults with one child. It gets tricky when both parents work and maybe a toddler also wakes at night. But one baby between two adults? A breeze
3:52 story of my life! Hard when you would see ppl so dedicated/graduating colleges/university and feeling like I’m behind somehow, but I feel so much better now mentally and knowing I still can achieve financial freedom!
When's your birthday charming?
Keep a Network that lifts you up. They are an asset, not liability.
Another great video Gabe. Thank you☺️☺️

Do you happen to know what Enneagram number you are?
Taking a deep dive here with calories.
Oatmeal has about 200 calories but it is full of vitamins and soluble fiber. It helps with cholesterol and diabetes. The complex carbs helps with sugar as well as body fat is benefited. So calories to me is just one side of the coin, the other half of the story is other benefits. I'm sure you are aware of all this, just a reminder we should look at all information about our choices.
That's definitely true you can get into the macros of things but it's a great place to start
Dr Berg....almost 8 million subs....fast 36 hours + 1-2 times a month (wear less rings!...lmao!)
Gabe has found what works for him. So why try to convince him to do something else? But, to your point, I’ve tried watching Dr Berg, but I can’t bring myself to take serious health advice from a chiropractor.
I need to start resetting my home each night😊
You sound like a perfect man for me :)
