- These simple rolls are made just like my grandmother used to make them. They turn out soft and delicious! Hope you give them a try...

Ingredients:
½ cup warm water
2-3 tablespoons sugar
1 pack rapid-rise yeast (1/4 oz. or 2 1/4 teaspoons)
½ cup room temp whole milk
1 teaspoon salt
¼ cup cooking oil
2 ½ cups AP flour
9 X 13 inch pan
Bake at 370 degrees for 15-17 minutes.

My great grandma used to make the best yeast rolls..she never wrote down her recipes though, and after she died, ive searched and searched for a recipe that tasted like hers. And what do you know, I made these for my family and we all took a bite and looked at each other and just cried! Tastes just like hers. I love this recipe, thank you for sharing it.!

I'm 64 and just started baking a year or so ago, I never new my grandmother so I'm going to borrow yours, I have my first batch in the oven now I'm excited, hopefully my grandchildren will be saying that there grandfather sure could make great rolls

OMG! My son and I used your recipe and instructions yesterday for Thanksgiving ! We made a double batch. They were amazing ! Everyone loved them and several took extra home with them. They were golden brown on the top, they were soft and fluffy in the center with a nice golden bottom. They were a big hit!! Thank you ! We will be making these more often.

Ken... I need your email! holy cow. these were absolutely amazing. I spent hours salivating over the dough while it was rising. Torture. (for my kids as well.) Patience is not my strong suit, but my oh my... was it worth it. These were literally gone in 12 min. they never even had time to cool. our fingers are still burning. rip yeast rolls.
My varations were as follows; I used unbleached flour, I didn't have whole milk so I used 2% and a little bit of Buttermilk. I let them rise and cook in my cast iron skillet. Talk about presentation! beautiful. As some other users suggested, I sprinkled sugar on top after the melted butter.
I know for a fact this will be a recipe I know by heart very soon, for years and years to come. My 3 boys and husband will enjoy these for years to come. thanks for sharing Ken.

I made these rolls and they were good. I added my own touch to the rolls and they are wonderful. I don't knead it but 1 minute and that's all l do. Thanks. Lol.
My mother loved making bread…wheat, sour dough, yeast rolls…mmmmm! She loved baking & everything was made from scratch. Your videos take me back to her kitchen where I’d watch as she made so many good things for us to enjoy.

Ken Click - Thanks for the recipe and your method . I did this over a campfire in 2 dutch ovens while it was snowing in northern New Mexico . We loved the rolls and a giant mule named Samson loved his 2 giant rolls ... with extra blackberry jam .

These are fantastic! I added two extra tablespoons of sugar and turned them into individual cheese danishes!

I've made these a several times now and they are awesome! If you divide the dough into 8 larger balls they make wonderful hamburger buns too.
