The New Zealand agriculture industry relies heavily on the aerial application of fertilisers and other sprays. This video shows the skills of one of New Zealand's top ag pilots, John Bargh, as seen at the Classic Fighters 2005 airshow in Blenheim.
The Air Tractor AT-400 is a family of agricultural aircraft that first flew in the United States on September 1979. Type certification was awarded to Air Tractor in April 1980. Of low-wing monoplane taildragger configuration, they carry a chemical hopper between the engine firewall and the cockpit.
This clip is from our official Classic Fighters 2003 DVD. You can view the entire DVD movie on Historical Machines TV which is our premier video-on-demand streaming service at www.historicalm.... It'll cost you less that the price of a cup of coffee for a monthly subscription (from US$2.99/month)!

So badass. These pilots and planes are so underrated. So much skill involved
Our Cresco still holds its place in the high county
That's some impressive horsepower for that small of a model
The 802 and 1002 models carry 800 and 1000 gallons of liquid chemicals respectively
I see those things flying around this part of North Carolina from time to time.
,
These are awesome agile planes.
This is Dusty Crophopper's basis
Like Air Tractor
Just imagine if the United States military gave this plane some f-22 attachments.
great
That looks like Dusty Crophopper
IKR
Dusty is based off of one of those.
Nice plane. Seems thought out for the job.
PayWay: Well, it was built for the job !
Embraer EMB-203 the best one !
Needs leading flaps, a twin tail, and 360 view window.
*Danni* why

La Air Tractor es lo mejor que hay .
2000 kg payload? Now that's impressive
if i knew how many gallons that was i might be 2
@@tgh223 gallons? Hm. 4400 pounds weight. 2000 litres is 440 Imp gallons, 528 US gallons
The inspiration for Dusty Crophopper in the Disney "Planes" movies?
He is the exact one, but you can't turn this beast into a stunt plane no no not al all, but it's a cool movie!
Graham Clayton
Sweet
I Am Curious how much G-Force is pulled especially getting up after dive-in or dive bombing manuver in this kind of aircraft?
Good Lord.
Красиво очень !!!
What are they spraying? Roundup? The colon cancer stuff?
Water. Or normally, fertiliser.
He won't be flying to long. He to dangerous. Almost tore wing landing
That's normal for these guys
@@ridered7262 no it’s not. That is not a normal landing for any ag pilot. His landing at 1:03 was about 8-12 inches away from causing a ground loop.
