Clear and descriptive language. Great visuals. Thanks for teaching others what you have learned.
Thanks for choosing SharkBite to transition away from that Polyb! We're glad we could help make the repair. 💪
Wow
This is an excellent video that shows the key issues. Great job in my lay opinion.
Thank you for your kind words and for watching.
As of last week... no insurance companies will insure you if you have Polybutylene piping. Citizens insurance was the last insurance company that would insure houses with poly B. They will no longer insure any house with Polybutylene pipes. I must be replaced.
Very detailed. Thanks.
Thank you!
Thanks for the detailed video. Helps a lot!
Could a 1/4 pex shutoff valve be directly crimped to the pb tubing?
You would need a adapter. They will not form a water tight joint without the adapter.
Good video...I wish you would have shown the finish product...And how to put the sink or toilet connector to the end....
The video showing the rest of the repair is the one talking about using a basin wrench. It will show you how the modified pipe is connected to the faucet stub.
Can you attach the facet hose straight to the sharkbite valve?
Most facets are set up to the threads of a flexible faucet line which is needed to attach to regular pipe. If you had a sharkbite with a threaded side you could do it but it is very difficult and not a wise thing to do. The faucet line is also designed for flex and can be tightened by a basin wrench which a sharkbite cannot do.
should've use a coupling for crimp and use pex a
The repair I showed was the best method.
Can you provide info about the pipe cutter and end chamfering tool you use? They look to do the job well and quick. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience with what I have bought. I have PB in my house and need to replace leaking fittings as they come around. The end plan will be to replace all the PB with PEX or Copper. I'm just not ready to decide whether I do it or I hire someone.
Thanks!
The tools were store brand and sharkbite brand purchased at Lowes. The cutter was a lowes cobalt brand tool found on the pexx fitting display it was around $20.00. The tool for prepping the pipe was a sharkbite brand prep tool it is also sold on the fitting display it is around $10.00.
@@dodsonarmsco Thanks!
What I was about to ask.
PEX works great but damn they're proud of it when you go to pay for it😅
Silly comment juss sayin
@@georgedavall9449 Not as silly as yours, snowflake. Loosen up a little bud, you trigger too easily.
I said PEX and I'm in shark bite
Thank you!
