I'm not sure why it's happening, but I have also read about it online from others. Look it up if you get bored. Glad your not having any issues as it's a real PITA.
Duracell are the only thing that I use in my 16 SD cameras. I use lithium in my 4 cell cameras. I have used Duracell exclusively in my cameras since 35 mm cameras were a thing.
@@JustAnotherDisappointedHuman I live up in NW Wisconsin and my cameras are out 365 days a year. It gets well below zero anywhere from a week straight to just a few days every winter.
I have been a guide and hunt thousands of acres and have have had so many different types of cams over the years. I have never had a problem with Duracell. In fact, most all the probs I have had was when I didn’t use Duracells. Maybe it’s just me? I don’t care what I I buy as long as it works and I completely disagree with this take
I've had issues with Duracell for about a year now. My D cells are only lasting about 3 weeks of part time use, when under the same use conditions, they used to last 90 days to 6 months. I'm having better run times with the Energizers in my 2 Cell LED Maglite, but even the Energizer D cells don't run as long as before. Corporations are ripping us off right and left. They are claiming battery life that no longer exists, and it's a violation of anti trust laws, but no one in government on either side is protecting the citizens anymore... This extends to all batteries, not just the D cells. My remote batteries go dead in a few weeks too, when the AAA cells used to last for close to a year. I'm about ready to switch to rechargeable lithium Ion batters, since I already have a small charger for AAs / AAAs for my radio controlled tank.
This is a temperature issue, it's colder at night. Alkaline batteries don't do very well at colder temperatures. Energizer "ultimate lithium" batteries do much better in freezing temperatures but are much more expensive.
Probably the cam. I only run lithium energizers and have had a few different brands of cams stop taking night pics. Bushnell, Browning, Exodus, they don’t last forever. Brownings are the worst though when it comes to malfunctioning,,,
Any batteries will eventually corrode and start to diminish over time... Especially outside... NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH DURACELL....I remember 40 years ago All batteries sucked like a DUMOCRAT....
That’s all I’ve ever used is Duracell. I don’t ever have any issues

what was the temp at night? Battery voltage starts to drop when temp gets down to 32deg.

I've had too many electronic devices ruined by that brand of batteries leaking. I'll never buy or use them again.
Thanks

Have the same issue with energizers all of a sudden
Thats pretty interesting, I have not seen it with the jobsmart (TSC brand) batteries yet.

It's been on multiple cams ranging from reconyx to wildgame innovations.
I've heard the NON rechargeable lithium batteries hold their charge in below freezing temperatures and have a long shelf life. Higher cost.
They are so much higher, i am switching to the 12v, rechargeable battery packs, or the job smarts from TSC, never had a problem with them.
i do not use duracell batteries because they leak and ruin you devices
Thanks for the input, I am not longer using either.

Nice, compared to some, the battery level indicates it has half battery life but will not take night photos. It's super odd.
