    Rubber boots do not let moisture escape. Your feet give off a lot of moisture. Quickly your socks will become damp and your feet are gonna get cold. A couple of things have changed my hunting completely. I wear good quality Danner boots and some Rocky boots. I have some that have 600 grams of thinsulate insulation, some 200 grams and some basically none. A few years back I bought a pair of icebreakers over boots. These are the older version that goes up nearly to my knee. I have a junk yard seatbelt sewn into a loop. I attach to the loop with a flat strap that has adjustable clips my hunt comfort fat boy cushion, the over boots and a spare wool shirt and a wool vest. Plus anything else I may need. Easy to carry. Sit on the soft thick cushion. Plus, as soon as you sit down put on your over boots. Your feet never get cold and your behind doesn't start hurting from sitting. I always hunt from the ground and being comfortable and still are very important. Leather boots don't spread scent unless they have something on them. I never wear my boots anywhere except while hunting. Apply any waterproofing at the end of hunting season so any odor has a long time to go away. My clothes are washed in scent killing soaps. Only wear fabrics that pass the scratch test. If your fingernails make any sound on the material find something else to wear. Several layers of polyester underwear with wool pants and shirts will keep you warm in very cold weather. Adding a sniper veil helps a lot also. Good luck.

    Crispi Wild Rock plus boots are great. But same for me if I sit for very long feet get cold. So Hot Hands / Toes packs help a lot. Also I am trying Logol’s Iodine drops. Others have shown better circulation results. Hope it works.

      I saw some guy on here saying he drinks water with cayenne pepper in it before he goes out in the cold. helps with blood flow. I have the same problem . try doing some power walking say a few miles before you go out . gets the blood flow going. wear good quality wool socks. also keep you core warm. I like polypropylene tops and bottoms and a heavy wool sweater on top . wool torque. and mitts with wool liners.

    How fast do the deer empty your feeder out?

    • @TheOutdoorSource.
      @TheOutdoorSource. 24 дні тому

      If it's corn, 3 weeks to a month cause the squirrels throw it everywhere, and raccoons can get it out too. If it's feed pellets, sometimes 3 months.

    • @Natedwebb
      @Natedwebb 23 дні тому

      I've been thinking about getting one. Right now, I have a gravity feeder that's basically a barrel that puts the feed on two sides on the ground. With corn, they can empty 250 lbs in less than a week. The raccoons help out a lot, too. I'm not sure how much is deer and how much is racoon usage. But 250 lbs in less than a week is getting expensive! I have a lot of deer that frequent the food plot/ feeder... on average, about 20 to 30 deer per evening. I don't hunt the plot or the feeder, so the deer feel safe and spend several hours there several times a day. Morning and afternoon, they are more sporadic. Evening they wear it out.

    • @TheOutdoorSource.
      @TheOutdoorSource. 8 днів тому

      @Natedwebb I would get one, then it will be a good investment, saving you time filling it and money on the amount of corn. Mine is like 8 years old.

    I've had issues with Duracell for about a year now. My D cells are only lasting about 3 weeks of part time use, when under the same use conditions, they used to last 90 days to 6 months. I'm having better run times with the Energizers in my 2 Cell LED Maglite, but even the Energizer D cells don't run as long as before. Corporations are ripping us off right and left. They are claiming battery life that no longer exists, and it's a violation of anti trust laws, but no one in government on either side is protecting the citizens anymore... This extends to all batteries, not just the D cells. My remote batteries go dead in a few weeks too, when the AAA cells used to last for close to a year. I'm about ready to switch to rechargeable lithium Ion batters, since I already have a small charger for AAs / AAAs for my radio controlled tank.

    One of the things that caught my attention was when you said you forgot your stabilizer when you went on a trip, so you picked up another one. My experiences have taught me that in a hunting scenario, the hunting length stabilizers do all of about nothing for balance or perceivable vibration reduction, or accuracy. Maybe you could do a review comparing shooting with and without the stabilizer, and see if you come to the same conclusion I have. I will say this though- when at the range, and shooting shot after shot, a stabilizer setup (front and rear) will prove to be helpful. In a hunting scenario though ... I haven't experienced the value of stabilizers. Curious what your thoughts are.

    Make a cinch loop with the loop that is there. That will hold it on the scs buttons.

    I looked for this video a few days ago and did not see it, I am happy to see it uploaded today. Happy Thanksgiving. Dang screw needs lick tight maybe..? Well, I already ordered one, thanks for the heads up on the screws, I will see if locktite works, like you I dont need stuff falling out or vibrating loose. Have a blessed weekend. Dale

      Thanks Dave, it would be super hard to take them off during travel, so that's the conundrum. Have a great weekend!

    purple loctite. Was there a review or opinion, addressing whether it was worth the cost?

      My opinion was to look at other options as well and see if it was "worth" the price for you. The whole setup will be around $800 with front, back, and the mount. Some people love it, i will definitely look into other options next time if I sell my phase 4 and go for the lift X. I am not hwre to make decisions for you, just to give you information, good and bad. The purple locktite is a good idea probably.
