Thank you Allen for creating this show. I have been waiting for this a long time. Yes, it is brief, condensed, but spreads knowledge of Myanmar/Burma and that is needed right now. This is an amazing timeline. Since the beginning, this nation has been in a stage of war continuously with brief periods of peace. The wars were with other nations, or within Burmese lands in a seesaw type of motion throughout the years. Is what we see now a continuation of that attitude? I don't know the answer. Blessings to the Burmese People.

I enjoy watching this series but unhappy about skipping about Manipur in between. Manipuri soldiers played a very crucial role in Burmese invasion of other neighboring countries (cassey/Kathe horse army) and also in Anglo Burmese war where British soldiers refused to fight Burmese armies in Manipur and retreated and left alone 500 Manipuri soldiers to fight in which Manipuri soldiers succeeded. (Clearly documented in books like My Experience in Manipur and Naga hills by Sir, James Johnstone. There are other books as well if interested). And in future if you can make videos on history of Manipur as well it will be highly appreciated. Anyway thanks for this series.

The name Manipur itself was not the original name of the state. “Kangleipak” is the original nomenclature. The Kangleipak was flourishing as a sovereign princely nation with its own vibrant tradition, language, thriving culture, customs and religion.
In the latter part of the 17th century, a Brahmin priest and Bengali scholar from Sylhet (now in Bangladesh), Shantidas Goshai, introduced the then king of Manipur - Meidingu Pamheiba (1709CE-1748CE) to Chaitanya Vaishnavism a cult of Hinduism. Not only did the King change his name to Raja Garibniwaz but also give a new name to the Kingdom- Manipur
The term “Manipur” is believed to be derived from Sanskrit and it means “the Abode of Jewels'.
In 1724, the King Garibniwaz declared Vaishnavism as the state religion and vehemently imposed conversion of his subjects often at the cost of the ancient religion of the people - Sanamahism.

between Singu and Mg Wine, there was Mg Mg who ruled for 7 days before assasinated. 206 years later a man with the same name would become President of Burma for a month.
Bagyidaw was grandson of Bodawpaya (Mg Wine)/ He was called Bodawpaya(Grandpa) because he was grandfather to both Bagyidaw and Thayawadie Minn. Bagyidaw(Uncle) was called because he was Uncle to Mindon and Kanaung.

Thank you for the corrections. I knew about the short reign of the king who was in between Singu and Bodawpaya but chose to leave that out to keep the story more brief. Maybe I should have left it in.
The other error about Bagyidaw is an oversight so thanks for making the correction.

Finally got the chance to watch and this was a wonderful video. My observations… i think it would have been much better if instead of weird images of girls during the segments, you had visuals of your own hosts in their traditional attire. The random placed images of a girl with most of her butt hanging out near the end was completely unnecessary but ESY cant help itself to sexualize something. Whatever. It was still a very well made video and I really hope ESY decides to do more videos like this in the future. The comments are all positive. People really enjoy this style. Bravo.
