Turtle Build Series! This is part 1 of a multiple part series on building turtles! Today is Day 187 of the Metal Relic video challenge! The script is mine, the voice is AI's.
I start out by using 14 nuts on our new template that we made at the end of yesterday's video. These all get welded together from the backside to keep the welds hidden. I am currently using the Eastwood Mig 140 with size 30 wire and the seventy-five twenty-five Argon CO2 mix to keep everything as clean as possible. Flux core wire isn't very friendly to my craft since it likes to spatter.
I made some turtles for yesterday's event since people really seem to like them. I'm sort of up in the air with the design. I think soon, I will be making some changes to the process. I like the way the shell is, but there is something about the legs that I can't really put my finger on.
When I get a chance to tinker and change the process, I will need to take new photos and upload them to all the different platforms that I sell on.
These are the same size washers as the ones I use for the roses. I need to take some of the bend out of them so they fit the shell correctly. These will become the belly pieces. Next we move onto the head. It requires a chain link for the eyes, a nut and a washer to round out the rest of the head.
The next milestone for another rose giveaway is 5,000 followers on TikTok.
