  • Turtle Build Series! This is part 2 of a multiple part series on building turtles! Today is Day 188 of the Metal Relic video challenge! The script is mine, the voice is AI's.
I pick back up working on the turtle heads and since I'm only making six of them, it's nothing too difficult or crazy. All it takes is a nut, a chain link and a washer to form the head.
Next, it's time for cleaning. To clean the inside of the shell, I place a bolt in the vise and screw the shell onto it. This method works really well. In previous videos, I've shown other cleaning techniques I use. I also try to find uses for various brushes that often go unused. I have an abundance of cup brushes and small wire wheels that aren't great for cleaning roses, so instead of just hoarding them forever, I try to make the most of them whenever I can.
Now It's onto the belly of the beast! I use those rose washers to form the plate that goes on the bottom of the turtle. Once they are all welded up, I use a wire cup brush to clean them. The arrangement of the washers is important. With the way these are laid out, it allows room for the head, tail, and legs to be welded where they need to be.
Join us tomorrow for part 3 as we start putting the turtles together.
When we reach 1,400 more followers on TikTok, we'll hold another free rose drawing. Additionally, we're just 14 subscribers away from hitting 200 on UA-cam. Once we reach 200, we'll have a giveaway on UA-cam also!
Be sure to follow, like, and subscribe. And as always, thank you for watching, and I appreciate you!
