Dear Will Jordan passed away at 2:30 pm today, Thursday, September 6, 2018. He just celebrated his 91st birthday with many friends by his side, but too ill to enjoy all of the company. The news has not yet gone public as of tonight, and his Wiki page has yet to be updated. If anyone happens upon this video, you were probably a fan of his work. My mom, who was a dear friend and care-taker for many years, was by his side and he went peacefully. I have grown to love Dear Will. My family and I will miss him so. Rest In Peace Great Will Jordan😔.
I recently listened to Will Jordan's interview on Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Colossal Podcast (they reposted it after his death although the interview was from a couple of years ago). It was a very interesting interview. Check it out.
Count me among the fans. I have his LP "Ill Will." Haven't listened in a long while but today someone mentioned the movie Gunga Din and I suddenly remembered Will's hilarious impression. That's what brought me here to UA-cam today as I'm staying in place during the coronavirus pandemic. It was a pleasure to see this clip even though it was sans Sabu.
No one today could hold a candle to him. There were some other great ones at that time like Frank Gorshin, David Frye, George Kirby... but the best was Will Jordan.
Jordan appears as Sullivan in the Broadway revival of the musical Bye Bye Birdie (as he did in the original Broadway production in 1960-1961). yes, still around at 83.
I am also a huge fan of both Jackie and Gilbert, so it thrilled me to hear them discuss Will's work! I am glad that they brought you here that day. Unfortunately, the amazing Will Jordan passed away this afternoon 9/6/18 (please see my other comment). Not many people have commented on his UA-cam clips, but I know that he had many of us fans out there.
I had never heard of Will Jordan until I read of his death on Mark Evanier's blog. He noted that everyone who did an Ed Sullivan impression was really doing an impression of Will Jordan doing an impression of Ed Sullivan.

Will Jordan just popped into my head out of the blue and I was wondering if he was still around and what he was doing.Sadly, he's gone. We had some friends in common and I met him at a bunch of parties in the 90s. He performed a bunch of his best impressions at a party in a friend's apartment one night in the East Village and was very entertaining.
I once had dinner with Mr. Jordan...he was in town doing a sales convention as "Patton" (really, George C. Scott as Patton.) He talked about partying with Judy Garland (he did a great James Mason.) In this clip, he did a fantastic Groucho. Although he looks like Jack Benny, he doesn't sound like him. Rich Little does a much better Benny impression.
Jordon was better at the facial expressions and mannerisms than the voices. His vocal impressions were usually too high in pitch. I don't think he spent as much developing his impressions as Rich Little. Little spent 2 years developing his Johnny Carson.

Thank goodness for film and video tape, Will Jordan will never be forgotten and he'll entertain for years to come.
He was truly outstanding! God bless him.
His Groucho is so spot on its scary. he did the real Groucho, not the vamped up Marx Bros version.
I know him and I just love to hear all of his great stories of the good old times. He's the best.

He's good
Frighteningly accurate and funny impressions. He really is the master. Is he still working?

The template for all impressionists
His Jack Benny impersonation was not all that good, but the others were spot on...

I must say his vocal impression of Bing Crosby was terrific.
crosby was good
He doesn't do Jack Benny or Groucho Marx very well but he's got Sullivan down.....best impression ever....better than John Byner....
jack benny not so good
