- Check out the theme song and opening scene from the iconic 1994 movie "The Flintstones", starring John Goodman as Fred Flintstone.
The Flintstones (1994): Make way for the modern Stone Age family as they make the jump from animated favorites to live-action heroes! There's trouble brewing in Bedrock: a test mix-up has made Fred Flintstone (John Goodman) a vice president at Slate & Company, and now an evil executive (Kyle MacLachlan) and his sinister secretary (Halle Berry) are plotting to use Fred as the fall guy in an embezzlement scheme. Luckily for Fred, his best friend Barney Rubble (Rick Moranis), wife Wilma (Elizabeth Perkins) and her best friend Betty (Rosie O'Donnell) always have the big guy's back in this yabba-dabba-doo of an adventure! Elizabeth Taylor co-stars in the "Steven Spielrock" production filled with dino-sized special effects and classic Flintstones humor.

John Goodman and Rick Moranis did an amazing job playing those roles here. It was like those roles were made for them.
every cast member was spot on but Betty.
Betty should have been played by Demi Moore
@miltonlopesdasilva I think rosie o donal did good job
@@miltonlopesdasilvaYou're kidding, right? I mean... Too hot for Betty I guess... And too hot for a kids movie. It's more than enough sexual innuendo with Halle Berry
@@davidmartinez3272 The first choice for playing Sharon Stone was an actress named Sharon Stone. The "Basic Instinct" and "Total Recall" Sharon Stone. But she couldn't make it during conflicting filming schedules. Seems that avoiding hotness in kid's movie wasn't an option at all.
I loved how they recreated the Flintstones opening in the live action
The flintstones the animated series in 1960. The flintstones in 1994 live action.
I'm surprised this doesn't get the recognition that deserves. It was a very well made flintstone live action film 😮
Probably because of the not-so/exactly-subtle adult content that it had. Along with (not that I had a problem with it) Rosie O'Donnell portraying Betty.
I was 10 and watched it but didn't really understood the story but well with Lion King
After some of the crap we put up with today, in hindsight it's easy to appreciate a simple movie that sticks to its source material well.
@SmokeyBCN The casting was great and this didn't force any woke b s down our throats like just about every "film" that comes out nowadays. 🤔
@@Sal_Sal27 I hate when people view movies through the lens of today. Rosie was not a controversial figure in the 90s, she was THE family-friendly comedy actress of the day. Do y'all not remember HOW MANY TIMES she hosted the Kids Choice Awards??
Really nice touch that when they show the “UNIVERSHELL” logo.. all the continents are still connected together. Nice attention to detail.
I prefer the 2000 UNIVERSHELL
Thank you for pointing that out, I was so used to seeing Universal and the Earth behind it, those details never really clicked until now.
I was 7 yrs old when I watched it in first grade ... Im 37 now and I've always remembered this movie.. Always mentioned it, and now Im seeing it everywhere... Love it!!!
Happy 30th anniversary🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
30 years later still one of the best live-action adaptations of a classic cartoon 🧡
Happy 30th Anniversary to my favourite film from 1994 The Flintstones
Almost exactly 30 years on
actually the flintstone film was released on May 27, 1994, so it's technically it's been 30 yrs and 21 days, as i've wrote this comment as it's currently June 17, 2024 at 12:02pm Eastern Standard/Daylight Time.
@@TrueGenderEquality3675lol
I was 10 and watched it but didn't really understood the story but well with Lion King
This is why I still think this was the best live-action Flintstones movie. That they were able to recreate the classic opening so well is a definite hit in the memory circuits. I loved it.
And, of course, the casting was pretty good. Even Rosie O'Donnell, whom everyone criticized when she was cast, did very well as Betty Rubble. She got the laugh absolutely perfect. And you have to admit she is not forgotten like she was too often in the cartoon. They did the film with a lot of respect, and I enjoyed it.
Fun fact: This film was in development hell for so long, they considered casting John Belushi as Fred!
They considered casting Danny DeVito as Barney too. He was the one who recommended Rick Moranis for the role
@@davidmartinez3272 I think I remember that. I really can't see DeVito as Barney, however - he's just too cynical for the part. Moranis was a much better fit.
@@kali3665 DeVito didn't want to do it. He said he was associated with playing jerks and criminals, so he passed on the opportunity
@@davidmartinez3272 Makes sense. Just as well.
@@davidmartinez3272Didn’t Danny play Barney in “Saturday Night Live” sketch with Joe Piscopo as Fred?
I think all the actors in this Flintstone movie were definitely in a way born to play these roles . They all did a great job. They nailed it. I actually like this song I wish it was real.
So perfect. One of Hollywood's best efforts.
Only 19 years old and I get introduced to the best shows, Scopby Doo (1969), The Jetsons, The Flintstones, classic Boomerang and Hannah Barbera cartoons.
This movie is truly an amazing representation of classic cartoons brought to life and I wish more live action movies coulda done this good and put this much effort into their work
Omg watched this movie when I was 6/7 years old in kindergarten/first grade.. I would never forget it..
I'm 37 yrs old now, mother of 4 boys .. They know about it obviously, you have to let them know, that's how it would always be around...
You have to keep it living. Like everything else..
Rick and John nailed the voices. Great film.
While the plot was only ok. The prop design, practical effects, and casting was amazing.
Exactly. And let’s be real, we did t watch it it for the plot!
They did a great job with this film, I was six years old back in 94 when I watched this in the cinema
I was too... Omg memories that will always be with me...
You know what? I'm not gonna lie. It's actually awesome that they recreated the opening scene in a live-action movie.
That was the first film I ever saw in cinemas. I was about 4 at the time.
30 years on and I still have great memories of this movie version.
Really wish the Jetsons could of got this treatment
Jim Carrey could play George Jetson. 😁
Loved this cartoon since I was little damn in my 40s still love it
Happy 30th Anniversary!!!
This movie has the 30th Anniversary coming up. Oh and I miss Rick Moranis he was a great actor. 🦕
He’s still alive
I can't believe I was born the year this movie comes out. Now we're both 30. 😅
Happy Birthday John Goodman
You're afraid to tell Wilma aren't you?
I reign supreme. SUUU-PREME!
@@BmanTheChampI won't tell Wilma.
@@kaijufan6246 Thanks, pal.
Classic not admitting hes afraid of wilma
IIRC Goodman REALLY did not want to do this movie, so I can appreciate that he still went all-in on it. His Jackie Gleason is impeccable.
Always loved the vehicles, reminded me of the gokarts of the playground.
They had better CGI than todays Marvel movies. wow.
I was 7 years old back in 1994 when this came out
My friend. I was two years old. When this amazing movie came out.
i was 11 & kinda "over it" at that time.
but also really weird to see my saturday morning carton becoming "real" back then 😅
Reminds me of when I was driving with a friend and we were dancing to this one song, then at one point my friend exclaims “no! Don’t raise the roof when your driving!”
0:39 you forgot to put pebbles on top of dino!
That would’ve been a safety hazard.
@@TaylorKnightCosplayis Hollywood they could use horses instead of pebbles
Hahaha, Wilma is a force to be reckoned with, she’s truly a queen ❤
When i was a little shit these cars they used was the most amazing thing ever.... i was facinated.
I haven't seen this in SUCH A LONG TIME!!!! Oh my goodness! 🦖🦕
It's been like 3 decades, but it's still the best adaptation of all time!
I just bought this on Blu-ray a couple of days ago! The Vegas one also.
The first movie I ever watched in my entire life.
They had good cars. They were working out and driving. 😂
I'm still remember the cartoon version 😂😂😂😂
Fred: Afraid? Now lets get this straight Rubbles. I don't need permission from my wife to make a decision. In MY cave, I reign supreme. SU-PREME!!!"
Barney: "I won't tell her Fred."
Fred: "Thanks, pal."
😂😂😂😂
Youll be able to see the grand canyon in about 15 million years 😅
Lol, and then they pan over it
David Newman Isolated Score Main Title (Flintstones Theme)
I wonder if Spielberg would be interested in a Jetsons movie
This was made 30 years after the cartoons. And this here is 30 years ago. Crazy.
I love these guys my grand kids love these guy make more ❤🎉
Please make another Flintstone movie this year
Definitely not Hollywood is too 🏳️🌈. They would ruin it
They had one back in 2000 but it wasn’t that great.
@@TaylorKnightCosplay It wasn't that bad either.
Impossible to get a better selection of actors. Even if it is a movie for children it is a great movie
I think it was made for fans of the cartoon and their children. A testament to respecting the source material.
Amazing!
Given that The Honeymooners inspired the Flintstones, you can definitely tell that John Goodman based his Fred's speech and mannerisms off of Jackie Gleason's Ralph.
A Movie that was made with love and care. 1994, and still looks better than a lot of movies that came out recently
Rick will always be the BEST Barney. He killed this role.
I've only seen the fruity pebbles commercials where barney is a big fat jerk, so Rick doesn't seem to fit the part to me
The car is so good you would never have to change the rollers made of solid stone
They even SOUND similar to the originals.
I’m ordering the Flintstones movie 🎦 dvd 📀 from Amazon
Самая лучшая экранизация мультфильма, что я видел. щас вспоминаю диснеевский мультфильм Алладин, русалочка... тогда просто не заморачивались. Просто делали и всё. Причём с душой. сейчас души нет, одно обязательство перед кем-то.
Wow just realize that flint stone uses 3D animation. Never realize that when I was a kid.
The town of Bedrock.

Did you notice how the car turned without rotating the steering wheel?
Let’s do the Bedrock Twitch!
If this wasn't part of your childhood in the 90s. Then you had a boring childhood
Tar Wars. They did everything right except that Betty casting.
CNN reporter, Chris should join Flintstones cartoon. He has the look of it. 😅

Seems like fred would be more ripped considering how he has to drive.
Flintstones have the modernized
concepts of performing primitive
lifeforms, today's we are living in
modernization with instinctive desires.
I wish i was back in 1994 rather then 2024
I know it’s supposed to be bedrock but I always just feel like I’m in Pasadena watching this movie
A time where live action remakes made sense
Den. Er go 😂
The title is a parody of universal
Can Tim Allen be in the Flintstones
His arm is big as his head 😮
I actually want to se Gorge Lucas Tar Wars
Way back when it being mode ed
Adorei o filme é muito legal
Rick Moranis was a funny choice for Barney. First of all, he's not fat like the other guys.
Also, idk if this is just in the Fruity pebbles commercials or the actual show, but Rick is a nice caring guy and Barney is a selfish thieving jerk.
Well Rick is a little shorter than John.
Why is Fred and Barney singing in the video
"The Bedrock Twitch". It was featured in a Season 1 episode of the original cartoon.
