    Good stuff! I use a 1700 case (basically a gun case). Every place I go to has a oil drum or trash can that I can set it up on. I utilize the top for tools as well and used picture frame hinges and bungee to help keep tools on the lid from falling out when TSA goes through it. Pro tip, if you carry heavy things, mount them on the “bottom” portion so that when you’re lugging it through the airport the foam settles towards the bottom and stops, vs settling and squishing the rest of the tools over time.

    Great video! Nice job keeping every tool under 7 inches to avoid getting taken away by the TSA. Had to throw my parktool breaker bar away because it is "too dangerous "

      Agreed. Tried to take bike tools on my carry on for a domestic Canadian flight. Cone wrench heads were too long. I turned them in to lost and found and had my buddy claim them.

    I take the piece you cut out and slice the top layer off then stick in the hole spot it came from then it doesn’t look so bad when the tool is removed

    What is the sizing on the KNIPEX adjustable pliers? Tools 10 in, 7.24 and 5 inch?

  • @sylvainmichaud2262
    @sylvainmichaud2262 4 роки тому +23

    Instead of tracing around the tool, make a photocopy of the tools (or scan and print), cut the contour of the image of the tool. Trace (for better precision) or cut around the image directly. Youll do a more precise and clean job than tracing around the tools themselves and the fit will be better and you'll appreciate it when traveling a lot.

      How to do you make a photocopy of the tools?

    • @sylvainmichaud2262
      @sylvainmichaud2262 4 роки тому +2

      @@rodrigomoreira5519 - Simply put it flat on the glass of the photocopier as if it was paper, close the lid as much as possible ... and press copy.

      To take full advantage of these photocopies you can also use the images to draw their contours on your tool pegboard or better yet, cut the shape from colored vinyl tape and place on the pegboard as I did. With these image on the pegboard, the tools always go back in the same spot, you know what tool is missing if working in a shop environment involving many mechanics and it looks amazing not to mention very professional !

      yep its a bit overkill but gets you a better fit- I upped the over the top-ness by then using my work laser to cut my foam layers. (not kaizen foam thou)

      As long as the tools are under 7 inches they let them on. You can fly with this kit if you pack the longer tools separately in your bike bag.

    其實你沒裝幾樣東西,不要海綿,全部散在裡面,不會找不到東西,因為你工具太少了。
