Now that Colman Domingo is playing the father Joe Jackson, next we need
Halle Bailey as MJ’s little sister Janet Jackson
      Queen Latifah as Katherine Jackson
Jenna Ortega or Madison Pettis as LaToya Jackson
      Justice Smith as Tito Jackson
      Caleb McLaughlin as Jermaine Jackson
Riley Keough as Lisa Marie Presley, MJ’s first wife
      Julia Garner as Madonna
Viven Lyra Blair as Paris Jackson
and Sabrina Carpenter as Debbie Rowe, MJ’s 2nd wife
I still think that this musical drama biopic film should just get distributed by just Universal Pictures 🌍. Not Lionsgate for unknown reasons.
I really hope they add all of MJ’s songs like Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough, Rock With You, Billie Jean, Beat It, Thriller, I Just Can’t Stop Lovin’ You, Bad, Dirty Diana, Smooth Criminal, Man In The Mirror, Speed Demon, Give In To Me, Heal The World, Jam, Black or White, Remember The Time, Ghosts, Blood On The Dance Floor, and You Rock My World, including the ones when he was a member of the J5 when he was a kid like I Want You Back, ABC, The Love You Save, Dance Machine, Got To Be There, Ben, and when he was a teenager and was still a member of The Jacksons like Enjoy Yourself, Blame It On The Boogie, and Shake Your Body Down To The Ground.
Wish and hope that they add the scene where his hair got on fire while he was filming the Pepsi Commercials,
The scene of him filming The Wiz as Scarecrow
Scene during the Super Bowl halftime show,
Imagine if the film could get a 3hrs run-time, and/or get split up to part 1, 2, and/or 3, and if it’s good, it deserves a $1B or $2B Box Office.
I also wish that the film could get moved to August 2025 in time for what would’ve been the late legendary King of Pop’s 67th Birthday.
Thank you, Director Antoine Fuqua and Universal Pictures.

What i wanna see: first is how great, kind and innocence he was, almost impossible for a real person to be like that so it was so easy for the tabloid to come up with sick ridiculus rumors that stained him, so easy for greedy indecent people to take advantage of him through acusations. Then how lonely he was, being loved by milions but nobody understand him. Then how much love and inspiration he spread around the world through out his entire life by mean of his incredible godlike talent and angel like personality. Those are mystery to general knowledge that often being misundestood. And the last would be his career which is so clear, non controversy that anybody can easily see.

I think the film should kick off in a similar fashion, but start with Off the Wall. Top 5 things I need to see are 1. Show The negative impact on mental health of being falsely accused and the effects on his loved ones. 2. Focus on his heart. They should show that his humanitarian efforts were from the heart and not for attention and how it was imbedded in his DNA all the way up to death. 3. Show how involved he was with his artistry on stage and the studio. 4. Show how strong of a human being he was (a lot stronger than us) for having to deal with false accusations, false stories about being weird, all while being the most famous person alive. 5. Set the record straight on his pharmaceutical addiction in the early 90’s and the dependency in early 2000’s.

    • @InfectiousGroovePodcast

All great things that I'd love to see in the film. I know I touched on the long term effects of the Pepsi accident, but you're absolutely correct. I really hope that they show how incredibly hard it would've been on him to be falsely accused, then have the media run with it and seemingly convince the world to believe something other than the truth.

Showing the escalation of the tabloid rumours starting in the early 80s is also important. The media didn't suddenly turn against him one night. They spent a decade diminishing and slandering him and the allegations were just a green light to become more brazen.

I totally agree and we have to remember that they're really going to be constricted by the run time.
Even if the movie runs long, it will come in around the 3 hour mark. That's still not enough time to cover nearly everything. Honestly, if they covered just the stuff I mentioned in the video very well, I'd be happy with it.

The Top things I want to see:
-A Freddie Mercury cameo of some kind based on the collaboration between Michael and Freddie that didn't come out. Complete with the actor (forgot his name) who played Freddie in the Bohemian Rhapsody film. I doubt this will happen, but I can imagine there being cameos in the film since Michael met so many famous people in his lifetime and those he worked with. Its sad we don't have Chadwick Boseman as one for example who would of been perfect for his return as James Brown since Michael admired Brown so much in real life. Its a shame Chadwick passed away.
-The surviving actors of Jacksons The American Dream like Angela Basset as Katherine Jackson come back for this film.
-A scene showcasing Michael's loneliness such as him interacting with the mannequins he had in his home.
-A scene exposing the Tabloid media complete with some use of the song Tabloid Junkie from HIStory.
-Michael in the Studio recording what would be known as his many hits. Maybe even include a couple of unreleased tracks for good measure to show how much Michael put into his albums. Even if everything didn't make it in...
-The film's opening either to start with Motown 25 or the Off The Wall era.
-A montage of some kind that shows off the music videos he worked on. Kinda like what the latest Elvis movie did recreating the films Elvis starred in with Austin Butler.
-A coy reference to Wade and James (since they'll likely be portrayed as kids and one of them as adults in this film) that proves to the audiences that they were liars without explicitly saying they are; the subtle approach as we'll call it. This is so people can know the truth about these guys and their opportunist families. Which would destroy the narrative these two tried to pull off after MJ died.
-A subplot involving a connection to his family especially after all the stuff that happened during the Jacksons Victory Tour with his brothers and Michael kinda being distant from the family due to the success of Thriller.
-Some reference to Ryan White (the basis for the song Gone Too Soon). I think anything showing Michael's charitable deeds would be the things you wanna capture to show just how good Michael Jackson was with his heart.
-Evan Chandler's actual call being used in the film. Whether it be the original call or it being re-read verbatim by whoever portrays the guy in the film. Just so the audience could know about the extortion attempt.
-The Neverland house being shown in all its glory. Including the Duplex as mentioned by many that others don't know about. That and the installed alarms in his house which were there for security reasons likely due to Michael's paranoia. I think this would be one for the Biopic to show since people for some reason think that is sinister. Like seriously, what is sinister about having alarms in your room? I have that shit in my house as well because I have people coming up illegally and you wanna be protected well from robbers/killers/trespassers.
-The Vitiligo being shined upon during the Thriller era.
    -The truth about Michael's surgeries.
-The truth about Neverland Ranch and the reason why Michael built it.
-The 30th Anniversary special to Michael Jackson being recreated to some degree.
    BONUS:
-The unreleased song Dream Away being used as the ending or credits to the film.

You were spot-on with highlighting the personal struggles off-stage. I’d love to see them shine a light on the often overshadowed Off The Wall-Triumph Era. Those years set the stage for what happened next in a major way. It would also help galvanize the estate to release a remastered show from that tour (which we know exists). To see MJ set the world on fire, be shut out at the Grammys for Album of the Year, strike back with a phenomenal Jacksons album AND tour would be a “goosebumps” moment for sure.

I disagree on the childhood. Think about this. There are going to be new generations come in who don’t know about MJ’s life, and to me, if you’re going to do a movie that’s the definitive biopic, you have to cover it all. The stage musical made it work, so I believe the movie could too. I think the movie should be similar to the stage musical, but I would love to see the song “Will You Be there” highlighted, and the life it had with the whole Free Willy thing. I grew up with that movie, so I have kind of a sentimental attatchment to that song. I would think the movie is going to be longer than 2.5 hours from how I heard the director talk. I also have heard that he has a very unique way of directing movies that pulls you in so I’m sure it will be exciting. The director said All aspects of his life will be covered.

It’s just too much to his legacy that will have to be passed over. The Michael-Mania of the 80’s would need to be a movie all on its own. I was looking forward to seeing more of the business side to see exactly how he became as big as he was.

I totally agree with you, but I'm just speculating within the confines of what we know we're gonna get. I was 7 when Thriller was released, so I saw it all happen in real time. I couldn't agree more that there's enough material from that era alone to fill 2 1/2 hours of run time.

    @bjjones909 Рік тому +2

    Agree with most your picks.
It’s such a tough task to decide what should go in and what should be left out. I always thought it should be a mini series… 8-10 episodes to really tell the story.
But… for me, you’ve gotta spend at least 30 mins on his childhood. To show a new audience just how good he was as a child. The struggle of basically supporting his entire family from the age of 10… and of course to show the childhood his missed. It’s too important to the story to just brush past.
Really hope they tackle the allegations head on and don’t mess it up.

Yeah, I kept trying to figure out how to show his childhood without going into a ton of detail / runtime. I bet you're right that they could cover most or all of what they should with 30 minute of an expected run time of 2 1/2 to (hopefully) 3 hours.

You'd be among the top tier fans of Jackson that would be worth listening to on this topic. As someone who has benefitted greatly from this channel and podcast in regards to Michael's musical output and his story, I hope that whatever does get included ticks all the boxes that his die hard fans want showcased.
Recent comedy shows premiering on Netflix shows that their is still a narrative among the general public of Michael's supposed guilt, so I hope that the estate do everything they can to ensure that story is corrected, especially about Michael wanting to go straight to a Criminial Trial as opposed to a Civil. That tidbit was something that blew my mind and I'm pretty sure that came from either yourself on the forums, or your interview with his nephew. For someone that didn't know the full ins and outs, it certainly made me look at Jackson in a total different light and he's blessed to have fans still to this day in his corner.

That's fair. If they kept it to quick, but informative scenes to touch on those points then they could do it. For the record, if I had my way the movie would be 6 hours with an 8 hour directors cut or special edition.

I’m sorry, but I just don’t think they will cover history to this is it eras.
I feel that the movie will follow the same structure that bohemian rhapsody followed (beginning of Freddie’s life at the beginning to the peak of his musics career at the end).
For me, I feel the movie will stop at dangerous, as that was by far the peak of his career. This will also allow more screen time to be portrayed for off the wall, thriller, bad and of course dangerous. Which is the main peak of his life and portrays all the aspects of his life well.
I don’t have anything against both history and invincible, however I feel both of those eras are overshadowed by the mental struggles that Michael had, which I don’t think is something the Jackson family want to portray, especially when it’s jaafar playing Michael.

I fully agree with you on those items. I think we’ve seen enough of his younger life. Hit on it and then move on to thriller on.
What I’m worried about is they will center the movie around the legal actions and flashback to various points in his career.
    There’s so much more.
In particular, I like what you had to add about the Pepsi incident. I think that was a catalyst for a lot of things to come.
    Well done Russ!

      @InfectiousGroovePodcast  Рік тому +1

I didn't think about it, but yeah there's a danger that they center is around the legal issues. To me, they could clear up SO much with a 10 - 15 minute scene of exposition where facts get stated about the how's and why's of those cases. Again though, I bet you're right on how they'll use it as a center piece.
I'm glad you liked the point about the Pepsi accident. In many ways, you can draw a direct line from that accident to many things that went wrong for him afterwards. Unfortunately, you can even draw that line all the way to when we lost him.

You made great points. There have been so many articles, movies, documentaries, interviews about mj's life. It would be good to see what his life was about through the people that knew him and was there. Everybody gets to tell his story but never through the eyes of mj. It seems like everyone that knew him personally says the exact opposite what the media puts out there. By the way, you keep mentioning his awful childhood was. If you listen to all his other siblings including janet in her recent documentary. They state that their father was tough but he was not abuser. I just watch a documentary on the osmonds. Let me say, I rather be raised by joe jackson rather than George Osmond. Just saying...

They will never get approval for a 4 hour movie. And not only that it will lose appeal as people have short attention spans. It needs to be 2 movies Pt1 and Pt2. The Freddie Mercury one was too rushed etc even though he lived a quarter of the life MJ did.
The one and only thing they DO need to do and that's to leave out the 93 and 2005 stuff. Everything else should stay in including the crap he endured all his life about his 'plastic surgery' etc etc as that was always there. But the blatant crap in 93, 2005 needs to not be there.

I'm curious why you think they should leave out 93 and 05 though. I feel like the movie will get tons of negative attention if they don't address the false allegations. On that of that, it seems like a great opportunity to quickly educate the general public about things the media never told them.
