      Same...it's very frustrating when people saw me as incompetent and criticize my tendency to become an expert in something just because I am usually very careful of doing something so I take my time and my approach in completing a new task to become an expert is very unique and most of the time I create a new method to overcome the task. They would think I am some sort of people who againsts the rule and rebellious so they would say harsh things to me and make me lose motivation eventually due to the stress😭

      Thoughts of Mediocrity has trapped me too. I keep telling myself You have to improve, but I cant get myself to improve making the feelings of inadequacy blossom. Like you said. a relentless loop.
      I hate the fact that I cant control myself and give into primal and habitual instincts like an animal that has no consciousness.
      In those moments after indulgence I feel most disgusted with myself. I know it have to work but I'm too lazy, too much of a piece of shit to get my ass working. Distracting myself with a myriad of other things that are not related to the goal. All it must be is self discipline, but that is something that is not easily tamed

      @@darklight898 Fe desire becomes strong, inferior Fe is non-confrontational so it's just a load of strong emotions tearing you apart, especially when you're attempting to tell them. It can last very long, it "might" be short but as long as that Fe desire is there, you will be glued to wanting them when in their presence and not die but rather getting crushed by a boulder and survive while it slowly rolls on and off yoour chest. And for a second it may stop, only for another boulder to drop on top of the boulder on top of you already hammering down at you. The Si will keep you super glued to that Fe desire. The Ne will be repressed. The Ti is just off or used ongoingly negative after the Fe cool-down. While on cool down it simply stays building up untill the explosion again.

    This happens to me. When my sister passed a year ago I didn't want to be bothered at work but my manager kept coming and standing over me asking me what I was working on. I could not think I was quiet and he kept trying to talk even though I told him I couldn't think clearly. Btw I'm a computer programmer so I have to think and I prefer silence when I'm coding. Anyways I finally snapped on him to the point I could see fear in his eyes. He called me in a meeting with another manager telling me I have to learn to deal with my emotions. Also this was after he didn't want to give me the entire week off the day after she died because the department was hurting without me. I'm quiet but when I'm pushed I scare myself.

I'm not a computer programmer, but I used to have a job building quite a large website from scratch, and I had to do it in a small office with 2-4 other people. I would get interrupted every hour or so by people wanting to use the computer (as there was only two). It drove me absolutely NUTS!

    yep - sometimes I have my notebooks spread out so I can refer to each one as I move forward in thought process. each thought is important to the momentum so when I'm suddenly distracted it's like glass shattering. I notice that arguments still brew in our heads after we had them and we have more to say to further our point or add to something they said- so it's funny in the video when Einstein was talking to his dad, he still wanted to say something to his mother from a distance because the argument is still happening in his brain.

I'm fine with that. But what I get is stopped spectators who want who lodge suggestions about what I'm doing after 20 nosy questions and digressing chit chat. I like weeding and edging by hand. • @breakingthemasks
      @breakingthemasks 6 років тому +6

      Myztyrio ... Fe? Or Fi...
      I understood Fe as focusing on group harmony, while Fi is focused on strong internal values, and ensuring the self acts in ways consistant with those internal values, as well as reacting strongly against when the world breaks those values.
      Re, in contrast, being able to see all sides of an issue, and suppressing conflict in order to achieve harmony in the group.
      Thoughts?

    • @Myztyrio
      @Myztyrio 6 років тому +3

      breakingthemasks I've had a lot of internal debate about whether I lead with Ti, Fi, Ni, Ne. But after all my research I still conclude myself as an INTP even though I tested initially and even agreed with the results of INFP.
      From my perspective, Ti and Fi are very similar in how they ultimately work as processes and the sort of values they often hold. They're both often concerned on the principle or essence of an idea, action, etc. trying to understand the reasoning behind it. This contrasts the introvered judging functions with the extroverted ones which are mainly concerned with results. I would suggest that Ti and Fi in the dominant position are similarly based on values and principles, but assess things slightly differently. My brains shutting down a bit now, but I'd be happy to continue talking about it together.

    • @breakingthemasks
      @breakingthemasks 6 років тому +2

      Hi Myztyrio... I think the best lead I can give you in assessing your type is to read Paul James' intp profile description.
      webdocs.cs.ualberta.ca/~darse/Stuff/intprofile.html
      If this feels almost like an invasion of privacy in how accurately it describes your internal processes, then the odds are good you are in fact an intp.
      If not, it might be worth checking out other type descriptions.
      I kind of see where you are coming from comparing Ti and Fi, but I don't see them as that similar. Certainly they are both personalized in that the important part of them both is that the structure of the model (Ti) and the resonance of the value (Fi) are specific to the person using the function, and may not be universal to other humans.
      But from what I have gathered, Fi is a value system judging function. i.e. this or that is WRONG to me (hence my reaction to the sentence... "Fe presents itself as a stubborn need for justice") this is the function used to guard against corruption in a value system.
      Fe, in contrast is about communing with other humans... seeking peace and shared understanding. This is the function that causes empathy, where you can step into another person's shoes and "feel" what they feel, and try to make their life better by "feeling" what they would need.
      For me this shows up in weird places, like massaging someone. I can "feel" how I would want to be touched, and so I can give that to they without needing much direction.
      Meanwhile, Ti is a organizing or scaffolding function used to extrapolate a system of thought based on multiple data points gathered. So, in a sense it is concerned with the essence of knowledge... while Fi is concerned with the essence of value.
      Lastly, keep in mind that you don't just have 4 functions... you have one set of 4 that you use more than the other set of 4. So you may have a greater development of Fi than the intp profile indicates, and this can come from childhood experiences.
      cheers

      Tomi Adewole . I'm the same in not answering. My mom will call ahead when she's already on her way, so that is frustrating. And she has a key, so that's triple anxiety. But usually she'll just stand outside calling out my name in a sweet sing-song voice carried by the wind and audible at least 3 houses away. Then she'll go around hack, knock and say it all over again. "It's meeee.... mo-o-om." It's emotional terrorism because we don't have a good relationship (she is ISTJ and assumes everything I do is about violating her sensibilitelies to punish her, which is just an illustration that she hasn't bothered to really know me or appreciate who I am, hence my lack of excitement when she shows up with 5 to 10 minutes notice).

      Hmn. Perhaps you might, if time permits, introduce your mother to MBTI. Gather a pamphlet or something with the most descriptive aspects of both the INTP and the ISTJ to foster better understanding - or at least open the road to it. Perhaps compile a UA-cam playlist of the types and email it to her. And you, yourself, might benefit from learning more about the ISTJ - assuming you haven't absorbed the most salient aspects of that type already.

    1:44 This is exactly how I argue with my mom. She isn't an xSxJ, an INFP, so we get along very well. But when her inferior Te rules collide with my Ti outbursts, it can cause chaos. She likes to talk about how "I need to follow the rules," but I usually am always the one to blurt out "why" over and over again just to try and deflate her argument. I love my mom to death, but she can get really paranoid and neurotic when her Te gets a hold of her. Not like I'm any better on Fe, I become self-righteous and over-emotional, as well.

      @i .candy I'm not saying INFPs never explain their reasoning. Heck, Fi is a rational function. But it's based off of a feeling-based codec instead of a logic based one. Her thinking function, despite being a very smart and nice person, isn't very well developed.

    It gets a little embarrassing to keep using Einstein as a reference (only because I know non-INTP likely see it as self-aggrandizement), but yes, this is me.
    I had my math papers spread out all over the floor in a study room I was borrowing and 2 staff people came in to check something in therr interrupting me. It took all the social training I developed to not outburst. But another time my water heater broke. I foolishly told the landlords who are my mom and sister's dad (aka idiot) at a dinner. But I said I needed to study for an important exam in a few days time, please let's not do anything until the weekend. "I can shower at the gym." The VERY NEXT NIGHT returning home from work/school there was a truck in my driveway, my dogs barking inside, and men were doing the water heater (which is outside) and they were not going to be done for another hour, making noise. And working among my personal property out there I would have cleaned up on the weekend. My anxiety shot up, I was infuriated as my study night was shot and my space invaded. My mom was angry, too, because this was idiot's fault who wouldn't listen since "the guys said they can do it right away". The next day I found that the water heater was slanted. Idiot came over (still taking up my study time) to "inspect" and call the men: "Well I'm being told the water heater is crooked, uhhh". What a louse, can't even admit to the men it's not "complaints he's hearing" but that he paid for a botched job. I insisted, no work until the weekend.... OK.... *THAT SAME NIGHT* I returned home and the men were back, my dogs barking again, and they used my personal pavers to even out the floor and used my items and had crap around my stuff. Bark bark bark. TWO NIGHTS of study ruined! I got a bad grade on the exam affecting my overall semester grade and I have never forgiven idiot. School is hard enough.

      And because of experiences like this, many INTPs avoid contact with people and prefer to solve their problems by their own. At least, that happened to me.
      I had problems like that several times and when I told to people, they made the situation worst or began to criticize me for "not doing an obviously stupid thing that won't solve nothing" and being very harshly about it.
      So now, I keep things to myself as much as possible. I realize that that attitude is neither healthy, but gosh, the biggest obstacle to trust people is the people itself.

    • @amalasiri

      Jamie Dorsey I’ve been trying to solve this one for the longest time. The best I came up with is: make an effort to stay involved in the lives of your loved ones, but from a well-justified distance. E.g. if in the same vicinity with loved ones, choose a known-to-be busy career choice, or physically moving away for a better job...etc.
      I think this way helps keeping poor Fe alive :D without limiting the dual cruel mistress that is, TiNe ;)

      The caracter has big ideas, procastinates as hell, don't know what to do with such energy and end up finding relief in the ejaculation...This is a path found for dealing with the feeling of being blocked, as throughout the movie there is a creeping sense in the screenwriter(Charlie Kaufman) that people around him is stupid and his ideal of making an usual movie without the industry's cliches would wind up being a great failure... So, it's all about an adaptation for the public, of how to translate a book rich in nuances and the screenwriter's refined perception of the it, on the flat experience that is "popcorn cinema session"
