I felt called out when you said "INTPS always try to find logic in people, and that's why they're so interested in the personality types", or something like that, lol
I've been in relationships where it's so powerful & fun to be able to read the other person like a book from the moment I meet them. It gives a false sense I'm psychic, or they get a sense of deja vu from the air of familiarity I project. And once they're no longer speechless-assuming they end up liking me-they love the way I'll always already know the gist of what they're going to say when I ask them questions, but I still ask out of a genuine desire to hear their answers in their own words & to get a feel for their emotions.
SAME I convinced all of my friends to make this test about personality types always saying "Ah, make sense" after seeing their results lmao. The more I'm learning about INTPs the more I see myself in it.
5:30 “INTPs are so interested in the subject of personality” Me, an INTP who always want to talk to my friends about this topic but too scared that it’d annoy them: *yes*
I've spent 20 years on developing a groundbreaking philosophy. Just coming around to being confident. Then the dumb humans say, "Doubt it." Where. To. Begin?
@@bartoszowczarski8621 I've written a book that will be released soon on Amazon. Here's the basic idea. Tell me what you think: 1. Happiness is the implicit meaning of life because everything we do is ultimately for some form of happiness. 2. There are two categories of happiness-being and doing. 3. But society promotes only doing, and so we become dependent on doing. 4. Consequently, failure creates guilt, and success becomes stale. 5. The remedy is to understand how being is obscured. 6. Then we see the need to end illusion in the world, which is the same as creating a utopia. 7. This goal is easy because we only need to stay in touch with the innate goodwill of being. 8. The outcome would be a world where doing optimally augments being.
@@worldwidehappiness Thanks for the answer ^^. I will put my thoughts in points according to your points: 1. Absolutely agree. We we're made that way by the process of evolution. Happiness is the absolute driving factor in our bodies. If u suddenly take happiness out of us for prolonged period of time we would simply disappear in a long run. Different story is to make this change in a prolonged period, slowly cutting on the happiness and changing it for something else (as driving factor). But I'm not sure this is possible. 2. Can you please explain? I'm not sure I understand the difference between being and doing happiness. If I for example make myself cup of hot chocolate, and drink it whole making me very comfortable and happy by the feel of my hot insides, wouldn't it mean that I "did" something that led to me "be" happy? I'm not sure if I should make another point, because if I really don't understand something then me making another point is simply useless, and this can lead to several misunderstandings. See you soon, hopefully. Don't die. My conversation with you so far has been very interesting.
INTPs would struggle to finish this video thinking "nah, I know this already" but at the same time, their minds are intrigued so they manage to survive until the end of the video thinking "I told you"
This is seriously a big barrier, man. Its like in every conversation, the only reason i dont interrupt, is cause i know people are reactimg like kids to this and demand their "respect" geez
The other night I was ruminating in the bath and having a conversation in my head where the conclusion was "always ask, and always answer they 'why' " and immediately I had to get out the bath and explain why that epiphany was so important to my SO
@Kitty Kitty looool , now that's a typical Intp reply , I just made an assumption based on the number of comments compared to the number of views and the number of likes on comments which means, that a lot of viewers have been wondering in the comment section.
I laughed at myself a bit because when he brought up "solving puzzles," I thought, "I'm an INTP and I don't care about puzzles." Then he gave a specific example of a cryptic word puzzle and I literally leaned forward in my chair - intrigued and desperate to know the answer to the puzzle.
I think there’s this big misconception than INTPS can’t understand emotion(s). I think INTPS can be very good at this if we put time into it like so many other things. We can easily break it down to what action causes what reaction and pick and choose along with our intuition the best action for the reaction we want. We can begin to understand what others want and why as we know what we want and why often. Simply by using psychology and logical primitive constructs we can break down conversations and become very socially adept introverts.
I totally agree. We have our own unique way of understanding emotions and that's what this guy in the video was getting at when talking about INTPs' interest in personality type. Though I do wonder if we are "authentically" understanding emotion, seeing how we are still viewing it in a very Ti way. I think some difficulty remains even if you can accurately predict people's reactions to different situations and different stimuli. Not necessarily in being aware when someone will react in a certain way, but in how you handle the response. My issue has more been not trying to come across as robotic or unsympathetic when people react strongly about something. Like I can recognize how and why they are feeling a certain way and I can recognize the validity in how they are feeling but I can't really say that I can "comfort" them in the same way an Fe user could
im intp and extremely good at emotions, probably too much. i can tell what someones feeling, when theyre lying, and when i need to act more happy or tone it down. i know when i need to improve on something,, and always can know what others mean behind cryptic texts.
Agreed. I’ve never struggled to understand what people are feeling and why. Now my reaction to it is another issue entirely... I’m usually just extremely uncomfortable.
@@NicoleQuimper Well then we are in the same boat as everyone else, however we actually care and look for things like are we being accurate, fair, rational during and after a conversation. We may rerun things we said 100s of times, sometimes they replay for decades. Every few years I easily cringe at my younger self.
@@littleluminousjellyfish yeah, they want you to copy paste everything instead of looking for an optimal approach. At least thats what frustrated me. Oh and god forbid you analyze the problems too much. Wait whys your thinking way weird?
Everything except for the fact that I'm terrible at those kinds of puzzles. I do better at creating solution categories to well defined questions than specific solutions to more ambiguous questions.
I'm currently sitting in my favorite chair with a comfy blanket about to read and study lol. You started the video off perfect! And this is very accurate!!!!!
Yeah this hit home pretty hard. Especially the understanding people part. That's why I fail hard at initiating romantic relationships. Too many variables and not enough data within the limited time given.
@@downsjmmyjones101 aromantic is when someone does not want any sort of romantic relationship with another person and prefers the platonic relationships they have with friends. Basically I don't feel romantic love to anybody.

I mean, Its more the way math is Been taught at school, than the actual subject AS it Stands. But eventually, things Just get boring and you have lots of unnecesary stuff to write etc.
Self taught. Good point. I think INTPs don’t like being taught something that they figure they can learn for themselves. Why put up with unnecessary criticism?
@@intuitiveedge well, with a teacher you can have a different perspective about your "production", and that is always another information to add to your model of explaining reality -here it's how you play and how could it be better-, so since the intp knows that he don't know everything because of his selfawareness and his critical thinking, including about himself, I think afterall that he can appreciate the transmission of knowledge that can potentially bring a teacher. Yes my last sentence was 75 words long, and yes, I was talking of me at the 3rd person during this unfinishable sentence, and yes, that makes me a little bit arrogant, but, hey, that's how we intp are at some point. And sorry for English, I'm from France. (Yes I like to talk with strangers about psychology on the internet, afterall, why not, I'm intp)
great comments guys! I have nothing against being taught by a teacher, in fact I would love some guidance since self-teaching makes me cry internally sometimes. I think a teacher can provoke your thoughts and interest far more than you have expected
Nathan Glass I solved it with Pantheism/ Buddhism. Everything suddenly makes sense when you really think it through, but in order to do that you have to let go of forced thoughts
Mine as well. MBTI:"What if you could remove the inconsistencies and exceptions from people and have all their behavior follow rules?" INTP: "I'd research it till the day I die." MBTI: "Too bad because that's a fantasy." INTP: *futility intensifies*
@@NathanJGlass How I solved Fe. I married an ESFJ, and I allow him to manage the Fe. We have precisely three fights per year to sort out my end of it. It's rather like being married to a snowplow. He goes in front and smooths the way. It's not very romantic, though. He never gets my sense of humor.
“I think that’s the reason why INTP’s are so interested in the subject of personality types.” Me, awake at 3 am, going through all of these videos with an open notebook and a pen: *Hahaha what no of course not*
Literally me right now. Except without the notebook. Just memorizing. Just me and my Si, awkwardly holding hands behind a FroYo, averse to making eye contact as a result of wildly untamed teenage sexual tension.
Exactly. Ok, tomorrow I'll finish the work, I still have plenty of time, but right now this is really important: let's watch all these videos and make a comparative table so I can really be sure of why I would be an intp instead of -let's say- an infp, or an intj... maybe I can be two or three? ...ok, the notebook is not enough, let's make an excel file, this way, I can include images of fictional characters that fit every personality so it's easier to visualize it... not sure if I'll actually do that, but it would be nice to have the option to do it...
As an ENFP I really love INTP personality, they are my favourite. I feel like with an INTP friend you always get what’s really on their minds and I know sometimes that can be hurtful to some people, but I don’t get offended that easily. Also, being allowed to hug an INTP is a rare thing that needs to be valued and cherished.
I have a frnd who I met online but we are actually very close, we call each other as twins coz we have such similar thoughts but at the same time we are like ice and fire, she's hella polite and I get angry easily and I recently found out she is an ENFP and I'm an INTP, another reason to call ourselves polar opposites.
Oh my gosh. I never saw anyone who also said that us INTPs have almost a separation from our body. Whenever I look in the mirror, part of me wonders if Im not supposed to be in this body. I see my physicality as a different person from me. It’s hard to understand, and it still confuses me, but I’m just glad that someone acknowledged it.
I am not detached from my body. My body is detached from me. I am still the same as I was forty years ago, but my body is, I won't say totally, but quite not the same.
I've discovered recently that lying solves all of my problems with people. I never thought to lie, because truth, you know, truth is the pinnacle, the goal. But lying really smooths things out, especially when people ask for my moral opinions.
@@chocokookie9053 I mean lying is easy, but have you ever just lied to know someone else's truth? So that you can logically deduce that they are lying?
Not disclosing what you really think, or ramming the truth down people's throat, definately smooths things over, but I will never lie. I with hold my opinions and keep them to myself. I learned to be more diplomatic. My big lesson is, people don't want to hear the truth.
I had the same thoughts about my drawing skills, then stopped drawing one day. I will try to break free from this blocking perfectionism and just put my stuff out there. Stupid people never mind if they do right or wrong - to me this is the reason why this system we live in is so flawed.
The functions were a huge gamechanger when it came to solving Fe with Ti. They always say you can't understand Feelings with logic, but in order to understand feelings you need to know that they're not logical. So by understanding that and filing it away you can you create your weird Ti bastardized understanding of Fe. It's not the most efficient system, but it's what we've got..
We all have emotions... it's just about the space we give them in decision making that varies... INTPs under 30yo will rarely evaluate and act by taking into account emotions... and when they do, it's for the sake of others 99% of the time... because calling upon values, personnal limits of what is acceptable or not is .... most of the time.... A BAD TOOL!!! Seriously... the EGO pollutes analysis... all analysis... let's detach ourselves!!!!
@@notallgarbage But you need at least some amount of ego to survive - plus, others never invest as much thought on anything as you do. Walking zombies in groups out there is what you got.
I, a 93% introverted INTP, am the manager of a small number of staff at work and made them all take a Myers-Briggs test to see if it could help me support/coach them in better ways to get better results etc. It's all I've been talking about and thinking about for the last two days as their results come in so when this analysis says that INTPs are so interested in the subject of personality types because they see other people as problems that need to be categorised and solved, that's dead on the money for me.
My S.O and I are considered "The Golden Pair" according to the Myers Brigg's personality test. I happen to be an INFJ and he is an INTP. This leaves two really oddball individuals who in the end can only relate to one another and lean on each other for comfort, love, and mutual understanding of each other's intellects. He leans on my boundless empathy and rationale, and I on his strength leaping into the unknown and steadying me when the day has gone dark. This video was really good at portraying the INTPs I know with dignity :)
Dude, this is absolutely brilliant. You articulated things that I've struggled to say so many times, and then you said a few things that would never even occur to me. ;) All hail Host Nathan.
"or if you're a normal human being..." I had to pause the video to find out by myself. Which I didn't manage to do, because I'm French. sry for bad english
damn you i got tricked by that aswell. Spend half an hour trying to figure out any possible way to solve the puzzle but i did it in a wrong way. I was focusing of the letters instead of the meaning, because it did not make any sense for me since my english is not very good.
The thing about needing an idea to settle in and become second nature is extremely accurate, people around me seem to understand concepts more quickly than me, when I'm introduced to a concept I play around with it in my mind for a long time, until it settles in and I can a feeling for what the thing is without having to intellectually think about it, unfortunately sometimes people think I don't understand them, or that I'm slow, and I guess I am...? I'm a software developer and my colleagues seem to me very quick thinking or perhaps they have more experienced, they also are the complete opposite of me, its the first time im working with people that I would never hang around with normally, they are extroverted, not empathetic, self centered, stubborn and mercilessly direct. Im having a hard time in this environment, its a bit ruthless.
The part about it not feeling satisfying until it’s secondary knowledge is so accurate. Oh and the part about taking a long time to get things done. I feel like I’m so slow at my work but I’m trying to truly understand it.
@Pee Cock yea but personality types are not really linked to learning styles... I like to get deep into the topic but i like to use my speed and not to depend on someones videos length whre i don't know what and when they will say something as most of the long videos have parts that i consider unnecessary.
I've spent hours sitting here staring at empty space trying to see if I could shift the center of my perception somehow.. but I couldn't figure out if there was a way to re-center myself without changing the position of my dominant sensory organ at the moment: my eyes. It bothers me that I at perched eternally atop an organ I control but feel detatched from in the sense of my soul. It is my arm, but if I lose it I keep my soul so it is not me. Kinda stuff.. Anyway, yeah. Mood.
Am I the only INTP who's practiced expressing their feelings and can now somewhat pass as a "normal" person? It's a useful skill to learn! I recommend it!
@@DellyriumxX Great question! In summary, you must find a stimulus that makes you feel an emotion, then consistently expose yourself to said stimulus, and then you will eventually be able to easily express said emotion. You're essentially practicing a skill. Here are the steps: 1. Determine which feelings you have trouble expressing. Sadness? Anger? Love? Do you have trouble crying? I think for most INTPs, they'll struggle with crying and expressing their sadness, so I recommend focusing on crying. 2. Find something that can bring out that feeling/emotion. This is the hardest step and requires a lot of exploring. For example, my goal was to cry. Sad movies wouldn't do it (even when I watched them alone), writing wouldn't do it, sad music or books wouldn't do it. But through weeks of exploring, I discovered that sappy Facebook videos about rescued animals made me slightly teary-eyed! It felt like choosing this as my stimulus was cheating because these were feel-good videos, so I was actually crying from happiness and not sadness, BUT this is still progress. Do whatever you can to coax out any semblance of emotion, even if it's only a distant cousin of said emotion. ANY progress is still progress. 3. Now keep practicing! Keep watching those sappy Facebook videos, keep exposing yourself to the stimulus you discovered makes you feel said emotion. The more you practice feeling the emotion, the more easily that emotion will come to you. You are strengthening the neural pathways relevant to feeling the emotion. 4. After a while, you can try different (but related) stimuli. I started watching sad movies (which previously did not evoke any emotion), and I was easily moved to tears! I kept challenging myself with more difficult stimuli, and now I'm at a point where a friend can tell me what's making them sad, and I will cry in front of them. This isn't a part trick-I've always been this empathetic, but I've finally developed the skills to express what I've always felt on the inside. And boy, does it feel good. I've kind of used this same method to verbally express my feelings to people: find something you actually can express to someone (no matter how small or seemingly unrelated to "feelings"), then keep practicing it, and eventually move onto more difficult things to express. I started by expressing how certain classes were difficult for me, and now I can express some of my deepest fears, most shameful thoughts, and the dreams for which I yearn. Good luck!
The thing you said about cryptic crosswords is interesting because as an intp when I was younger I would edit pictures in a way where you had to guess a word from it that was seemingly unrelated. I’d try to get my family, all sensory types, to try to do them and they had no idea
The instant you said your family were all sensory types, I felt a like I just got gut-punched. Too relatable to the situation for me to be comfortable. Whenever I feel brave enough to show or talk to my family about anything intuition-driven, the whole situation ends off with this akward pause, like everything is just hanging in the balance while everyone tries to awkwardly-politely play it off as "Oh...haha...you're such a smart guy...sorry, I didn't understand what you were saying...everything just goes *whoosh!* right over my head.."
These videos are quite accurate. In my case at least they are spot on. When you speak about INTPs it's as if I am being understood in a way that I have never even come close to before. I'm fascinated that you've acquired such an in depth understanding of these traits and their behavioral implications. Well done.
One of my ex's to me after the breakup: "you try to rationalize things that can't rationalized, like feelings" me, internally: how am I supposed to understand if I can't rationalize it? it makes no sense!!!!!
@@CIA.2024-u9b Could you explain how? Do you mean that you just try to find the cause of the feelings, because if not than I truly don't understand. Also, how can ethics be rationalized? How does an INTP try to form an ethical system, an objective ethical system is impossible, right?
@@robinie4015 Hi, good questions! Feelings are either a part of our animalistic operative system and so have a rational purpose even though not always optimal (in fact seldomly so, if you ask me) or they are divine insights from our soul which is a noble source of feelings and always optimal. You see, believing in the existence of the latter requires religious belief which for me is a given but I understand that not everyone shares this. I agree with you on ethics apart from a situation where you believe in a creator God who is the ultimate normative power which I do. And so all ethics derive from: "What enables unity with God and what distances us from God" for me. Else, I agree, chaos is the result.

“Everything you hear is someone’s opinion, not the fact ; everything you see is your perception, not the reality.” - Marcus Aurelius. This is the reason I never accept anything at face value. I just can’t. I don’t want to offend people always, but I do continue to have imaginary debates with the person stating a point so confidently, which I know it’s just conjecture. It’s like an automatic process that runs in the background which concludes on me saying SHUT THE F*K UP at the end. Amazing videos you got there on MBTI, keep going!
I'm not an INTP, I'm an INFP, but I always admire them because they are smart, can see things in unique ways that I can't most of times and can think fast. In fact I've only met 2 INTPs so far, one is my very very best friend, and the other one is someone that I found really inspiring.
I'm an INTP and my brother is an INFP. He is the only one that seems to understand my really weird thought processes. I'll start on a subject, and then somehow end up touching 7 or 8 different branching topics and be able to completely follow everything I'm saying and still manage to ask questions that cause me to stop, reevaluate my train of thought and then continue going. Its spoiled me since I try to do the same to others, and they all give me this weird look like I just info dumped half an encyclopedia on them lol.
I am an INFP who has an INTP friend. When we're together in public, it feels like we're an earthly fey and a space alien trying to act casual. "Ok, behave like this -- no, not like that. I can't explain why - society is weird." Without others around to mask our eccentric natures, it's a clown show. It's Sheldon and Raj from Big Bang Theory. My ex-girlfriend, an ENTP, could connect with our INTP friend like a mothership transferring data to a scout vessel, but only to transmit data. I try to give our INTP friend joy, sympathy, sorrow to affirm and bring depth to his experiences. I don't know that he has any idea what to do with these emotions. Maybe it's like getting a fruitcake at Christmas. But whether or not it ends up in the trash, that emotional acknowledgement ("I may not like fruitcake, but at least someone cares enough about me to send them") is a gift that he deserves.
:( I'm sorry to hear that. Friendly acquaintances? If you get the chance to know one, when INTP-INFP get together it's one of the world's great comedy duos.
i loved your piano example! when learning something i always immediately tend to change variables and observe the outcome in order to grasp the logic behind it. i hate when "this-is-just-the-way-to-do-it" tries to be pushed upon me and this is also why i am terrible at school or don't even want to engage with it. i like seeking guidance from people with obviously more experience than me but instead of immediately trusting their words i look for facts and try to understand why they came to that conclusion. if what they say isn't supported by facts and not even structured properly i say fuck it. i agree with the fe part very much as well. i tend to not understand why i didn't get the reaction i was expecting from someone and then i become anxious as to what i missed and did wrong. my brain works like "ok i'll say this and they'll say this bcs i know they like that one thing so they must like this too" and i often have a hard time understanding why people like the kinds of people they like. i sometimes go "i'd go along with this person!" but never initiate conversation or any interaction because "I" would go along with them but i have no idea if they'd like me as well. one side of me is like "but they are super interested in this thing just like me!" and the other side of me is "it doesn't mean they will like 'you'!!!!" and i honestly don't know what to do.
5:20 Humans I have rewatched the video for the nth time, and I must say, this is basically my reason for getting interested in personality types. I have this hidden desire to understand the people around me but just taking it in "the how people are" just doesn't cut it for me. There have got to be reasons as to why they think/act in a certain way. The more I understand it, the more I can have this sense of control whether or not I have done the right thing and/or adjust how I dealt with it and then move on.

Sherlock Holmes is often typed as an INTP. He literally refers to his body as mere "transport" for his brain in A Study In Pink(BBC). It's funny that you also phrase it that way. Great videos, keep it up.
Your first example with the piano chords I do all the time with Ti and Ni, the only difference is I can do things before I have a principle for them, and I experiment in the real world to find a principle. The second cryptic crossword example is something I have a hard time doing as an ISTP. That’s full on Ne stuff, I would never have guessed or even tried to do the process you described. One cool thing about having INTP friends is that once they understand principles in one subject you can talk to them about another subject and they have a decent understanding of it from the beginning if it uses similar principles to what they are familiar with. Then you can go on rambling about esoteric things nobody else understands. I also realized in the video where Michelle Wilson was doing LuAnne’s makeup that she was pretty good at it even though she said she hardly does her makeup. She also mentioned that it was like painting, and it reminded me of my ENTP friend who was the same, they can take the principles they learned painting and apply it to the face and do a pretty good job. That is some major Ne going on, its just that neither of them have the Se to also skip past the basics of knowing the medium and tools (the liquid, powders, brushes, the things they are using). I think INTPs and Ne in general have an easy time not looking like noobs.
"I think INTPs and Ne in general have an easy time not looking like noobs." As long as it does not involve social activities... Then, we INTP get our noob time EVERY TIME there's social demands... I managed to get a girlfriend, I understand when she wants me to tell her some nice words to comfort her... And theeeeeeen I'm in for a freakin' internal debate about "Should I say that it will be fine ? I know she knows that it's just words of comforts and that they are more or less forced because she knows i'm an INTP". And then start the big simulation in my head of the different outcomes of the different potential responses I have developed over time in case of social emergencies... Taking me far too long to respond to her immediate needs of emotional support and me feeling awkward conscious of my delayed response... As long as it does not involve social interaction, we're fine... Meaning almost NEVER !!!

I had 3 friends, 3 acquaintances and my mother take the test for me, the results were interesting. 4 people got INTP for me and 3 got INFP. What I noticed is the three acquaintances got INFP for me. I wonder why that is I must know. It could be simply be because they're not as close to me that they got INFP but that feels like a cop out answer... further more it is interesting that people who are not as close to me perceive me as more of an INFP rather then an INTP. Hmm
The sheer fact that you had all these people do the experiment of seeing what type you are would perhaps suggest you are an INTP. Don't overthink your idea that those close to you would actually know you best- since they pegged you as an INTP- run with that! Own it!

ive been very hooked by the subject of psychology and personalities for the past like 2 years. ive gone from whole heartedly believing that i was an INFP to being an ISFP, ESFP, INTJ, INFJ and now finally realizing i might actually be forreal an INTP. ive learned about stacks, ive been in a constant mode of introspection and observing other people to use as baseline to compare myself with. ive found that i truly do relate to the past personalities i thought i was. which makes sense because mbti is not a complete science. but in my journey, ive had to view the stacks from so many different angles and i found it easy to mistake one cognitive functions as another. but right now, i think INTP would describe me the best.
That last one, I figured it out when I was 25 and the depression that followed after that realization truly hit me was... amazing. Honestly watching and thinking back on how it all affected me is very interesting lol

Great video! I think what you said at the start is so true, about intuitives believing that ideas are what's most important. If INTPs are the most detatched from reality, INFPs (like myself) must be the next most detatched. I have a lot of difficulty remaining attached to reality. I retreat to the conceptual world more often than not. It's more interesting than the physical world.
one interesting thing I noticed by going down personality research is that many INTP traits interesct with traits of people that have Aspergers. Funnily: I'm a INTP with Aspergers.
Are you sure you are? Because there are similarities and underdeveloped INTPs are commonly diagnosed with variety of disorders. My guess is that you really don't have it, it's just how you are and if you keep learning more about your type, cognitive functions and sides of mind you will be able to "upgrade" into a healthy INTP over time. Just think about what i said, but chances are that you are misdiagnosed.
I first saw this video in my recommended when it was just released, but I thought "wow, I'll just watch that later" and here I am today. It's seven minutes long. idk why i didn't just watch it last year.

I've spent 20 years on developing a groundbreaking philosophy. Just coming around to being confident. Then the dumb humans say, "Doubt it." Where. To. Begin?
@@worldwidehappiness first u have to show me this philosophy that u have been working on if u want my answer
True
@@bartoszowczarski8621 I've written a book that will be released soon on Amazon. Here's the basic idea. Tell me what you think:
I will put my thoughts in points according to your points:

How to know you're an INTP: pausing the video to figure it out before he suggested pausing the video.
Edit: And then editing your comment for grammar.
@@NathanJGlass you're my guy!

Am I the only INTP who's practiced expressing their feelings and can now somewhat pass as a "normal" person? It's a useful skill to learn! I recommend it!
I'm trying but that expression also lets out things that disgust me and it makes for mistakes with my face
@burpie3258 But how have you practiced it?
@@DellyriumxX Great question! In summary, you must find a stimulus that makes you feel an emotion, then consistently expose yourself to said stimulus, and then you will eventually be able to easily express said emotion. You're essentially practicing a skill.
Here are the steps:
I’d try to get my family, all sensory types, to try to do them and they had no idea
do you know the app where you have 4 pictures and have to guess 1 word that all pictures have in common?
Summer your a sexy Blonde
The instant you said your family were all sensory types, I felt a like I just got gut-punched. Too relatable to the situation for me to be comfortable. Whenever I feel brave enough to show or talk to my family about anything intuition-driven, the whole situation ends off with this akward pause, like everything is just hanging in the balance while everyone tries to awkwardly-politely play it off as "Oh...haha...you're such a smart guy...sorry, I didn't understand what you were saying...everything just goes *whoosh!* right over my head.."

I'm fascinated that you've acquired such an in depth understanding of these traits and their behavioral implications. Well done.

One of my ex's to me after the breakup: "you try to rationalize things that can't rationalized, like feelings"
me, internally: how am I supposed to understand if I can't rationalize it? it makes no sense!!!!!
Of course, feelings can very well be rationalized.
Your ex is likely a Fi dominant.

Greetings.
I'm not an INTP, I'm an INFP, but I always admire them because they are smart, can see things in unique ways that I can't most of times and can think fast. In fact I've only met 2 INTPs so far, one is my very very best friend, and the other one is someone that I found really inspiring.
Hey it's your favorite type which is intj. We shall rule the world
I'm an INTP and my brother is an INFP.
@@brianwashburn8047 ha earthly fey and space alien. Yea...something like that. ....heh. ...
5:20 Humans
I have rewatched the video for the nth time, and I must say, this is basically my reason for getting interested in personality types.
Wow that's amazing to hear!!! ~ Nathan
@@lovewho You are such an INTJ. There's nothing more amusing to me than to see your quick, to-the-point responses in the comments. Gives me a chuckle every time.
Even as an intp I've always hated puzzles . I feel like I have to try pretty hard to figure them out and the reward of solving them is almost meaningless .
I can relate to this
One day I will have layered enough of these social engineering systems on top of each other to solve the problem of people attempting to make small talk at me while I'm shopping for groceries. Another 5 or 10 years tops.
At least it's the grocery store. They want to chat me up in the bathroom!
Please let me know. I'm still working with weather.
Will do!
@@kannbrown65 I'll let you know how to talk to people at the store when I figure it out and you let me know how to control the weather when you figure it out.

The word puzzle reminds me of puns, which are my favorite. I couldn't figure out the answer to the question though, as we don't say grocer.
Sherlock Holmes is often typed as an INTP. He literally refers to his body as mere "transport" for his brain in A Study In Pink(BBC). It's funny that you also phrase it that way. Great videos, keep it up.
😂 I was just thinking today, "I am so frigging tired of my damn emotions. They refuse to behave reasonably." 🤦🏾♀️
The best channel about mbti, really. I would watch every video of yours.
“Shopkeeper sounds ruder”, I was thinking “Sounds ruder than WHAT?”
You’re the real deal. So glad I found this channel.
Well this is flattering indeed! ~ Nathan
This is why intp’s love using examples is because it shows the physical manifestation of an idea.
Emily Davidson And analogies never cease to confound.
Nathan Glass I’m sorry I can’t do it, I don’t have a bath robe 😅
@@Electrodudimanche ... Nailed it.
And also I'll add that we look like newbs when buddy movent are involved. E.g. dance, ice skating, etc... Since our brain carriers don't get much of it attention while developing.

I had some people take the test to see how they viewed me. I've always gotten INTP when taking the test (Ive taken it every year since freshman year of highschool, Im 21 now.) I had 3 friends, 3 acquaintances and my mother take the test for me, the results were interesting.
Own it!
People are *annoying? 😂🤣 Lol! Bravo, Nathan!!!! 👏🏼 The thumbnail for this video is so neat! Love the colors. Neat edits with the piano chords, too! Can we give this man a standing ovation, please?! I’ve never heard of cryptic crosswords. Learned something new! 🤔
ive been very hooked by the subject of psychology and personalities for the past like 2 years. ive gone from whole heartedly believing that i was an INFP to being an ISFP, ESFP, INTJ, INFJ and now finally realizing i might actually be forreal an INTP. ive learned about stacks, ive been in a constant mode of introspection and observing other people to use as baseline to compare myself with. ive found that i truly do relate to the past personalities i thought i was. which makes sense because mbti is not a complete science. but in my journey, ive had to view the stacks from so many different angles and i found it easy to mistake one cognitive functions as another. but right now, i think INTP would describe me the best.
It's cool that you're open minded and considering many different types! ~ Nathan

“Personality type seems to offer the promise of solving Fe with Ti.” That is really a good point! My gf is an ENFJ. Before i knew mbti, i was very exhausted with her dominant and had no clue what to do. We were broke up. 6 years later after i learn MBTI and coincidently reunited with her again, i explain everything about INTP and ENFJ and how the relationship can be success this time. We make a commitment to built a tolerant limit between my Ti independent and her Fe clingy. We have a strong relationship today!
It just makes me happy to hear someone else understands the world the way I do. It makes me feel not as alone.
Bruh, you have a great speaking voice. Host a podcast or something.

That is an excelent description.

one interesting thing I noticed by going down personality research is that many INTP traits interesct with traits of people that have Aspergers.
Funnily:
I'm a INTP with Aspergers.
