Tommy, your videos are great! Keep up the awesome work. Just a few additional tips that may be worth mentioning; Prior to soldering new wires on it is a good idea to "ohm out" the pickup and low tension coil while you're there. Check to make sure the pickup terminal gives 110 ohms +/- 5 ohms, and that the low tension coil gives you 500 ohms +/- 20 ohms. If either do not have the required ohms then they should be replaced. Also for soldering on the pickup terminal and also near the plastic of the coils I like to use an alligator clip as a heat sync to absorb extra heat so that you do not fry the electronics or melt the plastic. It also helps to have a clean soldering iron that is very hot as you have mentioned, and I also use additional brush on solder flux to ensure a good soldered joint. Another picky thing I like to do is use heat shrink tubing at the three terminals that go to the CDI. I use a short piece over the end of the connector that extends up over the wire by about 1/4" this will keep water out and also protect the wire from fraying where it meets the terminal. You should not use heat shrink for the male connectors in the terminal box as they will not fit into the grooves of the terminal box if you use heat shrink over the wires. And I may dis-agree with tommy on the solder at the terminals.. IMO it was not there in the original part and my thoughts on it are that if the wire can vibrate then solder should not be used as it may provide for a rigid connection and the strands can fatigue and break sooner than if no solder was used.. just an opinion.. and everyone has an opinion... Again.. super video Tommy! Keep em coming!

Constructive criticism is always welcome here. The only reason I added solder to the cdi wires is because the female terminals were made for a thicker wire and I wanted to be sure they didn't pull out accidentally when working with them. I should probably look into terminals intended for smaller wires on the next one. Thank you for these additional tips. It only helps the scooter community which is what this channel is all about.
