From a tactical perspective, i really love the druid class. It's the perfect spell caster, super versatile with its wide range of spell types, buffs, heals, cc, aoe, attack, etc.
Really enjoying playing my shifter. Generally I find just casting spells that have a long duration like those storm spells at the start of battle and then shifting is a good tactic.
Decided between Shifter and Animist but I think I'll go with Animist. Shifter sounds pretty cool with multiple forms but focusing solely on the forms could be a bit odd.
So if I choose to go with the Fury subclass, which class would allow the stormblight to do the most damage with basic attacks? Would it be the ranger or the chanter?
Not sure on best race for Fury. Looks like description does dex and perception not int and perception as he stated in video? I might do Godlike or Aumaua instead?
As an alternative, Liberator with a Lifegiver Druid could allow you to make use of Flames of Devotion when you're not casting. A KW Paladin would even help to keep with the theme of being a healer. Sounds specially great to use with dual-wielding ranged weapons.
I'm trying a shifter with KW paladin. Works well as you heal with both flame of devotion and lay on hands while in beast form and you heal again when you shift out the form. Plus with stag form you have +20 all resistances which makes it a great tank
Shifter can heal while shifted, if paladin. Also not sure why you didn't cover shifter+chanter. It's really good, you can stack the dmg+self heal chant with the healing chant, when low in one form, you can switch to boar and become a regen machine.
I just got deadfire now, did the 1st combat on the ship, in turnbased, which i prefer generally. Game looks super but, few things puzzle me, Cant keep combat log open while combat goes on, and make it smaller window. Can't pause while all other characters take their turns, and During that time Can't switch cursor from character to character, to check conditions, attributes of each. Doesn't seem to say if a character is bleeding etc, status effect and for how long still etc. I wish to know for each enemy and ally. No pop up of description when open the abilities and put cursor on each item or ability. Doesn't explain much at all, except for enemies in red circle lol , yh tks.. Will read thru journal tutorials and info next. Of course this 1st encounter u only control 1 character, with many allies and enemies taking turns until next round, im sure will be better once i have a real party, but still makes me unsure if ill try also the rtwp way, must be same as in poe1 i guess. Still think ill stay with turnbased but just puzzling a lil, many things i mention were in poe1. Also it be nice if characters made comments on combat afterwards at least, like that 1st wild pig attack, could say we got be carefull of these from now on, and if bleed etc, could say u got a serious slash mate etc hehe idk, just nitpicking i guess. Im on ps4 btw. Still looks super. Cheers all.
There's an error in your description I think. "Druid Class Guide for Pillars of Eternity 2 Deadfire. In this Guide, we give you tips on how to Multiclass a Wizard effectively..." It appears Wizard is used instead of druid here!
Does Race have any effect on the size of your spiritshifted form? I mean for an Example is an transformed Aumaua Werewolf taller than non-Aumaua Werewolf or are all Shifted Form the same size no matter the Race they were originally?
Shifter Druids use 2 One-Handed special weapons when transformed, so you'll probably want to use a one-handed weapon of some type and since you get the benefit of the Two-Weapon Style (if you have it) while transformed, I would recommend 2 One-Handed weapons also. It won't matter much what these are, when shifted because they will be replaced.
I highly value your channel. Can you please tell me which weapon style is using TEKEHU Druid companion? Two-Handed Style like Fury (Storm Blight) or Two Weapon Style like all other spiritshift forms.
Sorry dumb question. Im looking for a druid class like BG3 that has at least 4 forms. Or in this game can I only transform into 1 form out of the other??
Hmm you say that Fury is good for elves because of a bonus to int and per. However they actually get a bonus to dex and per. I wonder if this changes weather elf is a good choice for some of these subclasses?
@Fextralife, love your videos but I disagree here that Shifter is not good with Mage Slayer Barbarian because shapeshift is reduced. Shifter is the only druid I would multiclass Mage Slayer with if I'm playing the shapeshift style as while you have a reduced duration you can just shift into another beast form. The chance to interrupt from Mage Slayer is quite good actually.
I feel with druid you are focusing too heavily on mutli classing in your guide lol. Would have been nice if you talked about the advantages each subclass gets as a single class.
For real man as a completeeeeee newbie to this game this guide is of noooooo help even when I’m like paying attention to every lore and class/character info I can get my hands on like a university finals exam and I cannnnnnot for the life of me get a use out of this guide
Can somebody tell me, how to switch the standart bear form of shapeshifter? My horrible "umpa-lumpa" instantly recast any of hes forms into the bear (if possible to put it on quick bar somehow)
How does xp work in the first pillars of eternity? I picked a lock and the combat log said I got 10xp. But when I check character sheet it says I only have 6/1000 experience. I have one person in my party by the way, calisca. Please help.
Fextralife After I choose Druid (animist) and Ranger (no sub) it then says I am a Beastmaster. Using Google I find that is the new title of my multiclass.
Guys I have really never understood your "might increase magic and healing". Otherwise I agree that it should increase damage for all physical weapons besides crossbows and guns.
I don't think so and that is pissing me off aswell. You can't even save just before you choose your class so you can just load in when trying classes. So everytime you have to walk in that slow purple space shit.

So in a single class, I can call lightning, blind my enemies, become a literal storm, turn into a werewolf, and shoot them with a gun?
Sold.
It would be nice if you could include weapon recommendations in these videos otherwise a great guide very informative

where is druid-paladin (fire sword build) ?
Why not liberator? Lay on Hands can be cast while spiritshifted. Seems a great combo.

Gonna make a fury druid they look so cool
Furry 🌚
It was my first character. But it didn't really work. Ancient, shifter and animist are much better.
Shifter can heal while shifted, if paladin. Also not sure why you didn't cover shifter+chanter. It's really good, you can stack the dmg+self heal chant with the healing chant, when low in one form, you can switch to boar and become a regen machine.
Not to mention Paladin gains a major boost from religion that you also get from druid.

Thanks! Fixed!
I have actually noticed this problem in many other videos also such as Ranger, Barbarian, and more. Perhaps all of them have this issue except Wizard?
Does Race have any effect on the size of your spiritshifted form? I mean for an Example is an transformed Aumaua Werewolf taller than non-Aumaua Werewolf or are all Shifted Form the same size no matter the Race they were originally?
@Other Thank you for answer,so i will chose Aumaua then for my Nature Godlike as his Body type and be a big fluffy Wolfy...
Hi, I'm creating a druid focused on Shifted subclass, and I don't know which weapon would be the most recommended. Could you help me to choose? Ty.
Shifter Druids use 2 One-Handed special weapons when transformed, so you'll probably want to use a one-handed weapon of some type and since you get the benefit of the Two-Weapon Style (if you have it) while transformed, I would recommend 2 One-Handed weapons also. Alright. Thank you!!!!
Nice video. Hope you do priest soon
Its out now

I wonder if shifter Monks still kick. lol. Or how any of the kick animations work when shifted.
Question. A nature goodlilke lifegiver or a nature goodlike fury (spell buff from another party member)?
Why in any of those guide videos , you dont show how you distribute character stats?
I’m thinking of doing Fury - Chanter (beckoner) does that seem like it’ll work well??
@Fextralife, love your videos but I disagree here that Shifter is not good with Mage Slayer Barbarian because shapeshift is reduced. Shifter is the only druid I would multiclass Mage Slayer with if I'm playing the shapeshift style as while you have a reduced duration you can just shift into another beast form. No problem! I just didn't want people to mix these and not realize that it has that effect.
I feel with druid you are focusing too heavily on mutli classing in your guide lol. Would have been nice if you talked about the advantages each subclass gets as a single class.

Liking these videos, how do I view the ability tree in game? Can't find it anywhere
From my experience, you can only view them during the character creation and when you level up.
Blockdigit yeah this seems to be the case. Kind of annoying to be honest, it wouldn't be hard to make it viewable in the character sheet section.
Not sure if this was patched in but you can view the ability tree under your portrait on your character sheet (C)
Can somebody tell me, how to switch the standart bear form of shapeshifter? My horrible "umpa-lumpa" instantly recast any of hes forms into the bear (if possible to put it on quick bar somehow)
Excellent video subbed
Hello what statistics would I have to use for a melee druid with the cat's appearance also if possible I would like to use it with magic?
So what attributes should I use?
I'm here to subscribe! I guess I'll watch too.
Not sure if I missed this in the vid, but how does equipment interact with the spiritshift forms?
Your weapons and armor are replaced by the weapons and armor of the animal you shift into, Storm Blight included.
How does xp work in the first pillars of eternity? I picked a lock and the combat log said I got 10xp. But when I check character sheet it says I only have 6/1000 experience. I have one person in my party by the way, calisca. Please help.
Use console lol
Hello. If I use a nature goodlike fury/chanter he will have full bonus using an inspire/ invocation phrase?
As long as it affects one of the 3 stats, yes.
Good thing he mentioned furry using 2h style i went with 2h staff and fury 🤣 won't be wasting a skill point
Thoughts on firebrand build (druid)+ paladin
I've considered making one, but the only thing Druid adds here is Firebrand.
What do you recommend for a Beastmaster class?
Beastmaster?
Fextralife After I choose Druid (animist) and Ranger (no sub) it then says I am a Beastmaster. Using Google I find that is the new title of my multiclass.
Guys I have really never understood your "might increase magic and healing". Otherwise I agree that it should increase damage for all physical weapons besides crossbows and guns.
Might increases all damage. That includes spells and ranged attacks.
Yep and also improve your healing spells.
Is there a way to skip the intro to keep trying different classes
I don't think so and that is pissing me off aswell. You can't even save just before you choose your class so you can just load in when trying classes. So everytime you have to walk in that slow purple space shit.
A druid is just a hippie with a sword and a fancy accent
YAWN!!
4 years later is it still yawn?
