    I have been building models for 60 yrs and had never seen this kit before I bought it a few yrs ago. Didn't realize that it was an old mold, until you brought it to my attention! Thank you, I guess I will have to go ahead and build it now!

    I just stumbled across your video and was intrigued. I recently bought the 2020 issue of the same kit, but the one in the USPS Auto Art Stamp Series tin, but it is the same 1953 Studebaker Starliner as in the kit you have. Originally tooled in 1965, and since then all that AMT has done is to rebox the kit, as well as add new parts (1977 and 2020) and new decals (1990). I'll be building mine soon and am looking forward to it.

    It turned out beautiful! I have the same kit but haven’t built it yet. I hope it turns out half as nice as yours . Good job👍😊

    I had... wayyyyy back in the day a stude kit that was so detailed that it had pistons , connecting rods, rocker arms etc.A real heartbreaker for an eight year old to try to build

    Nice build and a great idea to build a stand for displaying the spare engines.

    This is one of my favorite kits. The car was designed, I believe, by Raymond Loewy. Loewy was a renowned designer, very creative, always pushing the envelope. I believe he designed the Avanti as well. I hope to tackle this kit when I can find one.
    BTW, I know you don't keep those mini-boxes AMT includes with some kits, but they would be ideal display backdrops for your spare engine builds.
    Nice kit!

      I’ll think about that when I get a permanent display for the models.

    Good color choice and nice finished product.
    I have, what I believe to be, the original release of this model. I bought it years ago at a flea market still sealed. The tires are molded in white styrene and you have to glue the two halves together. I've obviously opened the kit but it remains untouched as far as paint and glue.

      Oh, I hated those plastic tires! I’ve only come across them a couple times. Thankfully they don’t really use them anymore.

    I put the stude body on a zo6 chassis, call it a Studevette.

    Richard, looking for a set of decals for the Bonneville version. Do you still have those in your box?

    Richard, What's in your "purple tank"? How long does stripping process take? Thanx

    • @Kryptosmaster
      @Kryptosmaster  3 роки тому

      Castrol. Depends on the paint. I usually let sit overnight and go over it and dunk it again if there’s stubborn bits.

    So what do you attribute the 1st bad paint job to?? Especially since you used the same paint.! Was it the white primer? Different brand? (The same thing happened to me, but I did not have the patience to strip it and start again! )

    Interesting build and nicely finished model. Looks really 50s they way you've finished it.
    The marks you refer to are where the ejector pins push the tree out of the mould.
    I felt you has sound issues on this video. The plastic bags crackled way too much and your commentary was lost and on your final reveal, the echo was unbearable.
    Otherwise a great video.👍

    • @Kryptosmaster
      @Kryptosmaster  5 років тому +1

      I’m surprised you didn’t mention the lighting. LOL.
      I know what you mean about the crackling noise. It’s not obvious until I go to edit the video. Same thing on the echo. Believe it or not that echo was the intention for that room I shot the reveal in. It’s a music room and we want the reverb. Didn’t cross my mind about what I would sound like. My desk was a mess where I usually shoot. It’s all a learning experience. I have a microphone but last time I used it with this camera there was NO SOUND RECORDING so I need to get a new microphone.
