8:38 Those pipes you are highlighting are the ullage motors. Early Saturns launched with 8 housings, which was later reduced. A lot of these inaccuracies are due to manufacturers of kits racing to get one on the shelf in the 1960’s.
One thing I’d share having built this model is that the decals are not the right font. The USA font matches the Saturn IB third stage, and the UNITED STATES for the second stage is also incorrect.
Maybe every reference to issues I had while painting the model can answer that question... Yes, this model requires paint. I used the following paints -flat white -flat black -silver -flat gray -gold -flat beige -flat red For the exterior of the rocket and silver parts, I coated them in a gloss cote to make them look shinier. You can use gloss paint if you want to skip the gloss coat step
@@Cris_YtC824 you could realistically get away with painting this model with minimal skills, it's only the fine details that will suck. You can paint a base coat of white paint and then paint the black sections with a brush and it should turn out decent. There's also pre-built models out there so you're covered! You can have this legendary spacecraft in your collection in whichever form suits you best
3:35 The umbilical connector between CM and SM is in the Block I configuration.

Great Video!! Hope you get better! ❤️🩹
11:43 Would make a great side by side with the new 1:200 SLS from Round2.
I'm going to get that kit as well. When I'll be able to build it is anyone's guess
