Beautiful work of art and done with obvious respect for the original design. I was born in '51 and my dad bought a brand new Champion; even as a toddler that car caught my eye. Later we had a red and white '57 Parkview wagon with the speedometer in a litle cupola atop the dash with a TV screen shaped magnifier lens to read the numbers on a rotating dial. Dad put black friction tape on the housing as it was painted gloss black and the sun reflected into his eyes anytime we were driving west in the afternoon. We lived in Helena, Montana, and there was no daytime speed limit in the state back then; more then once I saw 110 in that little window on long straight sections of highway. He traded it in a year before I got my learner's permit so I never had the chance to drive it.
Thanks so much for sharing your artistry with us. God bless!
I was born in South Bend more than three quarters of a century ago almost in sight of the Studebaker plant where my paternal grandfather spent his entire working career. His wife, my grandmother, was a descendent of Clement Studebaker, one of the German brothers who founded the wagon building firm that became the car builder. Given my affinity for Studebakers ,to say that I admire your work on this beauty is an understatement. Wow!
Thank you for your great story, and kind comment, much appriciated!!!!!😊😊😊😊
I have a stock 54. I really like your finished product. Especially how you didn't mess with the overall character of the car. 👍
I would have to say that clean is your theme. Strong and elegant are definitely the subplots. Congratulations on your composition- you rock.
Omg what a stunning work of art. Respect brother!
What a gorgeous piece of automotive history! The old Studebaker reborn beautiful but still holding its original impression. I am very partial to the color and the red leather combination, but it’s the interior lighting that would tell me every morning as i approach that I was one lucky guy to be able to drive this thing of beauty. Great job.
An absolute work of art
Thank you so much!!! Thanks for watching,we really appriciate it. Paul
Great job on the Studebaker, one of the best I've seen.
Designed by the great Raymond Lowey. A car of great style and beauty. Not like the generic designs we see today.
So SWEET! Studes of that Era still had the Design Ideal that Loewy/&/ Bourke brought to market, and You just 'cleaned it up' to another Level!! Yeah, i dig this ride!
Thank you sir!!! Really appriciate you watching and commenting ,really means alot to us.Blessings. Paul😊😊😊
Had one in 1957 loved it. 3 53s in a row went into this curve at 100 all made it. Our wide whites were black from asphalt. Shot the push rods thru valve covers trying to hit 110 in second gear. Loved it.
Making something really perfect even better takes exceptional RESTRAINED design TALENT. Incredibly CONCEIVED and perfectly EXECUTED. As a purist and originality fanatic I am totally on board with your EXCEPTIONAL insight.
I think Raymond Loewy would be pleased with what you have done and would give you 5 stars ! 😀😀😀😀😀
This Studebacher is a Masterpiece, so awesome , you did a fantastic job , I Love this, wish I had one Thank You, Steve
Absolutely beautiful. I love all of the custom touches.
Thank you for your compliment, and Thank you for watching,we really appriciate it.
My dad was always a Studebaker man . He also had a Hawk and a Commander. You took a beautiful car and turned it into a work of art . Those cars had a arm rest in the center of the back seat.
The Body & Soul shop really puts the soul in the body of a car! Another amazing job, y’all have blown my mind. You can see the experience, love, and craftsmanship you put into your creations.
Very little added or subtracted from the iconic 10 out of 10 body style - magnificent work.
Outstanding coolest Studerbaker ever great detail and great build quality
Thank you Nick!
Thank you ,we really appriciate the compliment,Thanks for watching!!! Paul
As I was saying I've always thought, that the 53 Studebakers were one 1⃣ of the prettiest and sexy looking cars ever made in the US and if I thought I could afford to I'd try to make a full size version from memory of a couple of different models I built as a teenager 😊😅😮😢😂❤😂😊❤😊❤😊
Stunning Stude. Wheels are proper. I like.
Thank you!
The 1953 was the original and in most ways the best design of the Hawk precursors but had a weak engine, you fixed that problem. Beautiful RestoMod.
The Studebaker engines, especially the V8 were made with very high quality steel alloys and can be built to make tons of power. Putting an LS in it should be a crime
So beautiful the silver with red is outstanding. All the details are perfection.
So beautiful! I can't even imagine the man hours... Thanks for showing the finished job.
Thanks Frank! Definitely some hours put in 🤓🤓
Thank you for the compliment, yes it was a ton of hours.... thank you so much for watching,we really appriciate it.
Clean and elegant, nothing over done. Beautiful!
True custom craftsmanship, every inch of the vehicle is perfected, not even luxury cars are above these custom cars standards.
Thanks Austin!🤓
Unbelievable! So understated.
Oh wow! Absolutely magnificantly mind blowing! Congrats! A stud fan and owner.
Freaking GORGEOUS! Thank you so much for sharing. Been looking at building a '53 Studebaker Champion...now I think I'm going to have to do it!
That is one incredible custom! 🏆
Thank you ,so much for the compliment, much appriciated.... Paul
That Studabaker is clean!! ❤️🔥❤️🔥
Thanks Rebels! Hard to stop looking at it myself lol…Dan
@@thebodyandsoulshop You're extremely talented. Beautiful car!
Much appriciated!!!! Thanks for watching...Paul
The original car was a 10. You turned it into a 10X. Very well done!
-10x with an LS swap... wtf
Bob Bourke would approve!
WOW! What a beauty!!
Thank you!!!!!😊
Greatest build on a Studebaker I have ever seen!
Incredible! Superb! I bought a pillared coupe my sophomore more yr. Out of a salvage yard. On Martin Luther’s Memorial Day. 1967. It still goes today from the best owner. Slightly modified in Drive train. ❤❤❤❤
You did the perfect top chop. I wanted to do mine. I was 15yrs old lack of money and the skill to achieve
Excellent work you had done . Yours is the most beautiful one I’ve seen, modified ❤
WOW! Gorgeous.
I'm sure Mr. Lowie would approve. Absolutely spot on. So many subtle changes but keeping that classic design. Strikes a cord here, I learned to drive on a 53 Commander V8 three on the tree. 9:40 Can you say a tear in my eye?
What a beautiful Studebaker! I can't imagine how people develop the skills to manipulate sheet metal.
Leaves me in a state of admiration. Just too nice.🦇
You are truly an artist I have not seen 1 bad job come out of your shop but of course you would not show the fails if you have any
Thank you for the compliment,We really appriciate you watching. I try my best yo keep the quality top notch. Blessings. Paul
What an awesome masterpiece. More beautiful than anything sold today, and that's saying a lot for a 70 year old car. Rear seat is outstanding, and very natural looking. It must be very satisfying to figure each modification out, then see it realized.
Thank you for watching ,and commenting,we really appriciate it. Blessings Paul😊😊😊
I wish my dad could have seen this machine!
I had a 55 commander in high school.
I doubt anyone will come close to this machine in the future.

Paul - You are an Automotive Picasso . What a Magnificent Car . Four Thumbs Up. -- Jim
Thank you Jim for watching and the kind compliment ,really appriciate it Paul 😊😊😊
I like the 56 Golden Hawk with the Packard 352. I am partial to the Avanti as well. I remember seeing the low slung Hawk series Studebakers when I was a kid delivering papers and wondering why they were not more popular. Many of those Studs sounds great with duals. Most were probably their 289.
Great colour...suddenly bery modern looking
That car is beautiful, very nicely done, subtle and bold at the same time, amazing. 👍✌️
Such a fantastic build! Well worth every good comment made and then some. Thank you for posting and showing all that went into this build! It's the little things that add up to this kind of build.
Thank you ,for watching ,and your kind comment😊
Thank you so much, really appriciate the compliments. Paul
SPECTACULAR!! I've always loved that car and this is the best rendition I've ever seen! Congrats on the gorgeous build!! ❤
Thank you so much ,really appriciate the compliment,Thanks for watching. Paul
Studebaker had some great dashes in their own right LOVED the 1953 and 1956 hawk.
Wow, just wow 🤩 - subtle and intensely beautiful reimagining of a legendary design. Your artistry deserves a larger audience. The roller wheels for the hood and the c cove theme along with the 1.5” front chop roof leveling are so well done that most people probably don’t notice until the second or third time they look at the car.
Great build! I love the Studebakers. I am putting together a 53 as well- more original but really like the deeper coves, front spoiler, and gutter lighting inside. great ideas. build more!
nice build
Wow wow wow! Beautiful!!!
There should be a Pulitzer for such results of determined imaginative work. This car would win easily.
Very nice.
That is a gorgeous restoration! ❤
Thank you for sharing.😊
DAMNNNNN....so fantastic!
GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That car is gorgeous!! I don't know what the investment is for your customer but they definitely got their monies worth. Keep on smiling.
Thanks bro,much appriciated. Paul
•Nice• Job Monfrere.
🙏🦉
It’s beautiful
Amazing!
I had not heard the term 'gentleman's chop' before. It looks good.
This is the best year of the Studebaker, before the gaping snout front came along. That nose on the car makes me think of an eagle.
It does look like an Eagle,Ive thought the same thing while working on it!!!!😊
My first car was a 53 studebaker coupe - maybe this is where it ended up. He did a fantastic job enhancing the lines - it still looks like it was but better.
Beautiful car man!!!
Thank you really appriciate the compliments😊😊😊😊😊
I just watched your video all the farbrication, design, so cool , so perfect , I am into this , like I’ve said before it is a MASTERPIECE, this has been my favorite for years their best car Thank You it makes my day my life Steve
Can you imagine if Studebaker had made their top of the line car in '53 look like that? The only thing I would have wanted was use the Studebaker "S" emblem in the middle of the steering wheel like a '64. Fabulous Car!!
Tank you sir, does have the Studebaker script in the horn button, but not the S. Thanks for watching
Nicest "Stude" ever!!
Thanks Hunter!
Unbelievable Results!
Work of art. very nice.
Damm that car is sharp , you guys are the best.
A true Magician
Thank you for watching,,and thanks for the compliment....
That is gorgeous.
When art and mechanics meet….
wow
The only thing better then a work of art is a derivable work of art
haha! Agreed!
I still like my 55 Commander best .
The owner must have deep pockets to fund this type of build, a customization not a rebuild, which is unique one of a kind, that's why I say this
Masterpiece!
Great jod
Thank you so much!!! Thanks for watching!!!
Boss looking
Raymond Lowey would have loved it! Your repop honored every design que from the original. BTW, Morrison Chassis are pretty first class merch- engineering and execution are excellent- like the body and soul you put on top of it!
Thank You!!! Much appriciated
@@paulherman8931 You did the work, my part was terribly small! The "down side" is that I will expect great as a minimum for your next projects! Here's to ya!
Bob Bourke designed the car but Raymond Loewy got the credit.
I want it😊😊
Talk about attention to detail - wow * Wonder how many hours went into this build. . . :>/
Very nice. If’n I win the big lottery money, I may be in contact with you. LOL.
haha! Hear that!
Any chance of getting the paint code for that silver?
Chrysler Sparkel Pewter
This should be a ridler contender
Thank you I appriciate the compliment
😘😍🥰 "BATMAN"
Cocker sells the red line tires.
Was this originally a Raymond Loewy design?
I have one just seeing more ideas
How much is it going for?
I dig it but for the valve covers, you should have used studebaker valve covers
Beautiful car, fantastic craftsmanship... Where are you guys located?
Thanks Gary. We're in Nashville, TN. Thanks for watching! Really means a lot to us.
@@thebodyandsoulshop Well I'm not far away, I'm in Johnson City Tn... I might have to come visit you guys sometime....
Gallatin Tn
Gallatin Tn😊
Park a 1953 Studebaker Commander/Sunliner/Starliner next to any 1953 car from Chevrolet, Ford or Dodge. It looks like a sleek modern car parked next to a school buss. So far ahead of its time.
A chop that's not simply obvious is very classy. The wheels definitely sweeter than outset, oversize chrome spokes that are so popular. Shame on you guys for raising the bar so high.
Drool...
How many celindar?
Eight cylinder
What's its worth
I agree so much has been done ... totally fucked up classic .. even my shop couldn't
Bring it back to normal 😢
While I can appreciate what you guys do building cars it is a damn shame to not leave it stock and put an LS in it. Those Studebaker engines were made with very high quality steel alloys and the V8s could be built to make loads of power. Should be a crime to ruin these old rare cars with this retrofit bs.
