East Lancs is a real friendly Heritage Line. A few years ago they held a Carboot sale. I wandered into the shed and maintenance area with a friend and his children and the let us look around the shed on of the volunteers explaining about the work they were doing. Thank great video.
Many thanks. A great day for you!
Great video! I was there on the saturday, rode the 25, the 50 and the Warship 🙂
Thanks Richard.
I like all the Diesel locos coming in & going out of the the station on the East Lancashire Railway. Ian Thompson.
1:59 3 tracks 3 preserved diesels and all working at the same time. Wow!
Total blast from the not too distant past, class 47 scotrail loco pulling a rake of coaches.
Who's that massively handsome chap leaning out of middle door of first coach at 8:13 ? Oh, apparently it's me
Gotta luv a Maybach engine!!!!
My favourite diesel loco
Excellent vid Phil well filmed the Warship and the 14 were the highlight of the day for me.I'm at 2140 running up to the gate in the car park cheers Steve ..
Thanks Steve. Mine was certainly the Warship! The 24 looked good too. Looks like you nearly missed it ?
Fantastic footage Philip, I was there both days and had a great couple of days filming. Thanks for sharing, have subscribed to the channel. All the best, Paul
Thanks Paul, I have subbed back.
brilliant footage Phil, not been yet. Usually dont go a bundle on diesels but Im converted.
Thanks clyde. Aiot more variety with the early diesels than the modern ones.
Great video, Phil. Liked snd subbed.
Many thanks Darren
Now thats what you call a full day of diesel's. Like the class 50, only seen one other that was called Thunderer at Carlisle. thanks!
My pleasure David. Yes a good day and variety. I saw all the class 50's, early 70's when they were doubled headed, Crewe to Glasgow, before electrification
Great video. I went on Friday and it was a good day
Thanks Keith
Great video.
Many thanks
Spectacular video and I work there as a volunteer!! I subscribed
Many thanks Connor. And thanks to you and all the other volunteers for doing a fantastic job.
Brilliant railway!!
Phil Clarke no problem and we love our job
So they had many diesels running, but no 40 or 37,which the ELR has like 5 to choose from
Great day's work Phil. That warship seemed to be burning some oil?
Thanks Alan. Yes someone commented, they could still taste it at home! Glad to see it though, my favorite diesel!
Be interesting to know what will happen to heritage railways when UK go carbon neutral !!!
Even electric trains have to get power from somewhere . . . .
Excellent video Phil. You got me at 11.51 camera pressed to my eye and woolly hat. I think we spoke to each other as we waited to film the 50 leaving. Did you ask me what the yellow fronted loco was about to leave the yard in the distance? I you watch my video again of the 50 it is identical to yours.
Thanks Philip. Haha, comparing our videos, I guessed that must be you at 11:51. I remember being stood next to you waiting for the 50 to leave, but don't think it was me that asked that. Although I noticed you a few times during the day and sure we spoke at some stage.
@@philclarke3203 I am useless remembering faces, if you see me again please say hello.
@@PhilPage227 Haha. My problem is I can remember a face, but not a clue where from.! Saw a man at Stafford model railway show last week, 2 days later I remembered I was talking to him at Berwyn station a couple of weeks ago , where he volunteers in the cafe! Yes i certainly will and if I know you might be there will have to ask a few likely candidates .
@@philclarke3203 Well you should not have much problem with my name.
Super video Phil plenty going on are they all E.L.R. stock ?
Thanks Rick, yes, all based there at least
I'm surprised if they can make enough money to cover cost of running diesel gala on a Friday when many people are working ,
I wish they would paint 47402 to blue again really don't like the green livery , great video btw
Many thanks. No, there weren't many people there on the Friday.
A nicer day for it than today, I bet. The signalman there must be kept very busy mustn't he, there's locos shunting back and forth and up and down and round and round all the time.
Alot nicer Andrei. The river looked quite calm at Ramsbottom, hard to beleive the difference in such a short time?
What No 40's !!!! ? Think East Lancs Railway and Diesel fans think Class 40's, a bit amazed there wasn't any, how come - anybody know ?
that 25 needs some cosmetic TLC
