- This weekend would see legendary locomotives on the East Lancashire Railway with 60007 ‘Sir Nigel Gresley’ and 70000 ‘Britannia’ both visiting from the mainline, running alongside 45690 ‘Leander’. Locations featured are: Bury Bolton Street, Burrs Country Park, Summerseat, Irwell Vale and Townsend Fold! Enjoy!
Hard to believe that cute little saddle tank L&YR Class 23, was once a tender engine, before a rebuild. And their sister L&YR Class 25 No.957 survives as a tender engine. Wonderful to see them preserved. Both would've made great characters in Thomas the Tank.
Yeah that is hard to believe actually!
Excellent film despite the weather doing its best at times to spoil the event. Travelled behind Britannia, the following weekend to Rawtenstall and yes the rain decided to join in again.
Thank you! Yes the weather could’ve been better!

27:03 The coaches seem to be in pretty bad condition with exterior covered in dust and soot and paints peeling off. Why haven't they cleaned and painted them?
Not sure really. It would’ve made sense to, especially before a big gala
@@that_transport_guy5404I wonder if it could be the effect of exposure to smoke and coal dust, since its the first two coaches behind the locomotives that seem to be in especially bad shape. And by the way, is the white smoke (steam?) seen coming off behind the rear carriage coming from the train heater?
I have a fascination for steam locomotives but never had the chance to see a working steam train with my own eyes (born a little too late for it), so love watching them in videos. Thanks for sharing!
Totally impractical and historically unthinkable to have ever seen an A4 coupled behind another engine. H.N.G. would turn in his grave. Never happened. Watch the 16mm cine.
Yeah the A4 should’ve been on the front as it was on the Friday
Tyler Mac here comes the train 😊😊

Странно такие кривые и никаких скрипов .
Big boy 4014 is better
Nope never will be
Average american would say that.
Average clueless 12 year old would say that.
@@JorgenRomeMojo I bet your one of those fat americans as well.
There are locomotives much more glamorous than the Big Boy. The Dreyfuss Hudson, for example. The N&W 611. SP Daylight 4449 and the Cab Forward. The C&O Allegheny.
Do us a favor and stop bragging about the Big Boy like it's the greatest thing ever built.
