@@catholicfamilypodcast5501 truth of the matter is, that none of the SSPX ordinations are valid, because Marcel Lefebvre himself was not a priest or a bishop. And Archbishop Thuc reminded him of that in a handwritten letter, signed by him personally, he proposed that Lefebvre be re-ordained by him (Thuc) because he could not have been a valid priest/bishop, the reason was the troubles with Archbishop Lienart.
Lienart was said to have been a 30th degree mason, BEFORE his episcopal elevation, and thus he was only a priest, and not a bishop.
Bishop is not a sacrament in the sense of priest. Bishop elevation is not valid when you have fallen of the faith before your elevation. Elevation does NOT place a Mark on the soul, it is not an 8th sacrament. There is only one ordination Sacrament, and that is Priest.
With bishop elevation you have to be on good terms with the Church otherwise it is not valid at all.

    Small correction.
Archbishop Thuc wasn't stopped from returning to his diocese in Hue, Vietnam by the control of the communists.
The North Vietnamese didn't take control until 1975 with the fall of Saigon.
Rather, he was barred from returning by American and Vatican authorities.
American political and military officials had orchestrated the coup against Abp Thuc's younger brothers President Ngo Dinh Diem
and Ngo Dinh Nhu who headed the secret police.
Their nephew Francis Xavier Van Thuan later became Cardinal Van Thuan after his release from prison.
Vatican officials didn't want him to return because he was a traditionalist.
And of course the Vietnamese Communists didn't want him to return as an inspiration to
    the faithful in Vietnam.

    • @tridentines7878
      @tridentines7878 Рік тому

Yeah, this is wrong. See the Jarvis book "Sede Vacante: The Life & Legacy of Archbishop Thuc". Thuc was part of an evil political regime responsible for repression of Buddhists. Thuc also covered up child sex abuse in Vietnam. Thuc was one of the most liberal at Vatican II - he was silenced for demanding non-Catholics be at the council. He also pushed for the ordination of women. In Vietnam he encouraged liturgical experimentation, prior to Vatican II. Thuc was never a "traditionalist" but instead an opportunist whose driving force was Ngo family Vietnamese Catholic Realpolitik.

Regarding the issue of the 1962 missal: At the 1976 First General Chapter it was sanctioned that the US could use the Missal, Breviary, Calendar and Rubrics of Pope St. Pius X. One of the 9 was ordained that year and 2 had been ordained in the years prior. Clearly there was no insistence from Lefebvre at that point nor could they know what the future held. 4 more were ordained between 1977 and 1981, prior to Lefebvre's 1982 imposition. The last 2 were ordained in 1982 when the issue was still being hashed out between the US clergy and Lefebvre.

"The Five" were expelled by Archbishop Lefebvre for two principle reasons: they didn't want to say the '62 Missal/Breviary, and they didn't think they should say "officially" that their chapels would be open to NuChurch or the NO, when they had no intention of allowing the NO in the chapels. Both were undertaken by the SSPX as conciliatory measures as +Lefebvre sought permission to consecrate a bishop to continue the SSPX.
Further, the issues with +Thuc's consecrations weren't just his mental state, but many irregularities that were reported...hence, Fr. Kelly. Fr. Jenkins, and Fr. Cekeda went to investigate...

The fact that no one will debate Dr. Matatics in the "Thuc line of Bishops being validly Consecrated camp" speaks volumes. Please have a watch and join us daily on Dr. Matatics Facebook page...here is the link to the video in which he talks about whether or not the Thuc line of Bishops is valid or not.
