2JZ- maybe my favorite from all Rotary engines, 1JZ, the previous MK3 supra engine and all, the 2JZ is just screaaaming with its 3 liters turbocharged. On one side it is like the small cubic, high-revving Japanese engines, running on crazy boost, but it also goes a bi on the big engines side, with the 3 liters 6 cylinder. The sound all JZ's make, ohh my favorite. The 2.0, the 2,5, and the 3.0 liter. All are screaming perfection, what a noise!
Ivan WNY yes a cool fastback, with that overall weight it should do at least 10sec. The 2JZ needs more upgrade, it's capable to do 6sec. like Ekanoo supra
beautiful 75! Sure those studs right off glad it didn't do much if any body damage. I have a 75 St Coupe also 46,000+ original miles. It gets driven every other week just to keep her moving. Within a few years after purchasing her new she got a header, bigger valves a ported head and a cam. Offenhauser dual Port intake manifold with a progressive Weber. I also have a 75 GT lift back. Also was purchased new and it's the car I drove most, with 800,000 Plus mi. and a few engines. It now has a supercharged Century V12 crammed under long it's Hood. 😁 unbelievable power. Yet with that engine it isn't even halfway to its potential. In the early '80s my 79 Hilux turned 12s. It had a stroke 22R larger valves ported head. I ran M50-15s on that truck. And boiling them in first gear was never a problem and breaking loose second and third when shifting was easy. Bias ply LOL Had a 76 Hilux . In the early 80s that truck became a desert racer and then a mud Bogger until there was not much left of it but engine. The engine 20R is now in a buggy. And I still have my 80 4x4 long bed purchased new. It has a little over 300,000 miles. And for decades it has sat on top of a 7-in Skyjacker and 38s. it has a Marlin crawler 5:29 gearing, lockers front and rear. It has a stroke 22R 40 over extensive porting super big valves and cam with much broader torque curve. That barely covers the Toyotas I have and have had.
I bought a new 72 one of these fun little car it stopped within 2 ft with the best corvette tested. Last week I found a shell roller. Tempted to make a street driver.. use what I have and enjoy it.... I only have mopar stuff.. But live near a pull your part place.. I've seen many of the inline 6s in more than a few or all the LS engines in so many gm trucks, like the idea of the aluminum block but I don't have a clue which one to get... but my first car was a 52 Chevy Club Coupe then I fell across a 57 Imperial put the motor, trans, and rear in it.... the Celica would work with a narrowed Dana sixty.... and the race 340 ..O heck what's a few pounds on the rear tires.. No title though, be like Bob Gliden when he ran the 340 in a colt.... and won al but one national event.. anyone got a colt or arrow. ? As always enjoyed the 1320 videos get a billion more views.....
Old School power in an even older school platform! Fixed that for ya. Seriously, the 2JZ is over 20 years old. It's a great engine and I have no hate for it at all. On an unrelated note: suspected 1000hp in a lightweight chassis like that, and barely running high 10s? That's either extremely optimistic, super duper sand baggy, or a lot (and I mean a LOT) of dialing in needs to be done. Awesome car either way. Sucks to see the studs sheared, glad it wasn't worse.
+Youblixuous I'm imagining that if they put some time into that chassis, it'll perform for them. If the Aussies can do it, so can they. I do recall them saying that they really hadn't done any testing on it and that it was finished the night before they left for TX2K.
I had a 72 with 265rwhp in a 18R it would do 0 60 in 3.4 0 100 in 5.1 it was fucking nuts top speed as around 165ish. Those cars are nuts with the right combo.....better grab one when there still there....have fun with the rust....they all have it
what an awesome shot of those lugs snapping off!!!

+Smita 2JZ is not a rotary...
love the body style on that. Overall great looking car.
+Ivan WNY Yeah its a very beautiful car

When he gets this car figured out, it's going to be a monster!
lug nuts said "fuck all this power, we out this bitch!"
+Jmaydon lol
I read when it happened lmao
+Jmaydon Fuck this I'm out!
Cambergang. haha
+Jmaydon Wheel studs failed not the lug nuts.

Loving that old school JDM keep it up 1320video 👍
Wow, never seen someone blow their lug nuts like that off before. That's insane.
My god that car is gorgeous. Those rims look amazing on it.
"Hey you need 4 wheels to race lol"
Amazing shot of those lugs flying off! Nice work guys!
Tons of potential...👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Toyota GREATNESS !!
Love seeing built Toyota models. This is a badass car !
is it me or it needs some suspension tuning.
+Rotarylover This was the first passes on the car, lots of improvement since!
+1320video he did mention that they drove it around the parking lot, that isnt good enough orr? LOL
+Mal Reynolds naw. all they need is a t56 and they'd be good for 500+ more horse
+Mal Reynolds agreed
+Mal Reynolds Those go for good money too, they could probably sell it for near to $5K.
he was trying to go stance nation at the end of the video
HOLY SHIT I just realized 1320 feet is 1/4 mile. Thats why the channel is called 1320
So Much Torque, All 5 Lug Nuts shattered on Launch! HaHa
I'd be so proud to be able to say I blew the lugs off my wheels! Nice 👍
When you're about the drag life but your car wants to be about the stance life. Lol
that thing sounds badass
I was knew one of these Celicas would make it to 1320 eventually :)
The new Bumble bee looks sick
Instant favorite button with that slo-mo of the wheel coming off
The car and video were excellent - thanks for posting it!
Deez nuts is busted. What a fine ride. Great stuff.
Nice car! I dig it! Too bad about the wheel at the end.

Stick shift spinning its way to a sub-11 second pass. That's absolutely incredible!
Awwwh, too bad the lugs broke but it sure kicked everyones butt tho. Its the best Celica I've ever seen in UA-cam!
She's gorgeous omg! Imagine installing an AWD kit on this beast! It'll be fucken insane! She's already a street demon! Long live Toyota!
DLB needs to drive that thing.
Amazing!
I absolutely love 70's and early 80's Toyota Celica's and Corolla' i've owned quite a few of them over the years.
I learned to drive manual in my cousin's '83 Celica! Shame they stopped making them Rwd. Boss car!!
+1320 hello! amazing car!
That car is badass love a great 2jz build
dude on the right when the wheel breaks is killing me.
+yo momma , None of them look very startled or freaked out to me. Or is that what's funny?
Very nice. Sounds great
the 6 speed box makes that shit look so much fun to drive with all the skating haha!
Toyota Power 👍
He lucked out with no body damage.
+Dan Bonnett My thought exactly! So lucky he got away with just snapping the lugs.

such a beautiful vehicle
awesome video ,, great fan of this car ....
Cool car and it interesting how the old Japanese cars have the side view mirrors on the fenders
+Michael Ellestad It was an old JDM requirement to keep the overall width of the car as narrow as possible for parking and pedestrians.
Alot of classic cars do. Their English name is Wing Mirror because they were mounted on the wings.
I have never seen stud bolts break like that ever. Now I have ...WOW !
great slow-mo. shot!
bill is no joke. the vipra...now this...
DAT STANCE DOH!
My favarite Celica was my lover When I was 23 years oid.
Thank you for this share☆
Cool~~~~~♪
It must have made a BANG, because he was off the throttle immediately
I think thats a first for this channel
Love the old school Celica's!!, Owner and hopped up many.. But that is no way 1000hp
"You need four wheels to race man" lol xD
Beautiful car, I love it!
Wooooooow that things nuts
That rear left was shaking at every launch. Can't wait to see this on a softer suspension set up.
+Bad Dallas Drivers might get better traction that way, though it seems to have enough to start breaking things..
Such a rare car!
Good looking car. Nice to see someone doing different things. Would be bad ass with turbo LS
Speed Warhouse!
"He ain"t hurt the rear end, he just run the lugs off it." Mandrell-Shut Up and Race
Bad Ass !! Excellent work on the car guy's. Can't wait to see more of it. Different trans? Tooo much shifting.

in my opinion the sexiest japanese vehicle ever made
This is how a built should be keeping it all one brand..
Light car. Even 300-350hp would fly around.
Pro tip, you can 0.25x slo-mo the slo-mo section of the video!
I love mines first gen for life
Awesome!!!!
Cool car, just seems like 1000hp put down better numbers bro 🤘
that slow mo tho!!
