    1. S. kinghorni - The ultimate scrub python, largest and best looking, sadly I don't think there's any outside of Australia.
    2. S. boeleni - I mean look at these guys, need I say more? Ofc the price and difficulty to keep them properly are out of this world.
    3. M. bredli - Prettier than proper carpets in my opinion, and much easier to keep.
    4. A. melanocephalus - Beautiful, unique, hardy.
    5. L. olivaceus - Beautiful and shiny patternless snake, the size and their love for food also help.
Sadly most of that list are not that great as captives but they sure are amazing snakes.

    Top 5 Pythons? Hmmm:
1/ S amethystina- just one of the ultimate snakes. Stunning to look at and interesting to keep. I think temperament is improving with the later generations. Mine is very calm.
2/ L mackloti. I actually don’t own one - yet - but they are so pretty. The eyes are off the scale and they get to an impressive but not unmanageable size.
3/ L olivaceous. Such subtle beauty - they are not even very iridescent but they are very beguiling snakes. Yes they can get to a very large size but are lovely animals. Unusual to find as well.
4/ M spilota sp. interesting, active, robust. Pretty too with enough natural variation among the various sub-sp. to make a P regius morph chaser jealous.
5/ For me you need a true giant in any python top 5 and I’m going with P bivitattus. Wild type of course and preferable a really nice big lean female. Don’t know why I like them so much but for me they just edge P reticulatus (also I do love my pure SD retics). If I had the space though I’d have a big natural burm in a heartbeat.

    2.) Malayopython reticulatus

For me, the top ones are the carpet pythons. Morelia spilota cheynei (jungles) are stunning, as are M.s. variegata. They are active, intelligent, and the labial pits make them look as though they're smiling, and healthy ones will eqt till they explode (of course one doesn't let them do this!). I also like the liasis genus, but they get rather large.

    My top 5 is:

    1: retaculated python (retic)

Hard to make a top five :). I like them all but especially the heavier bodied ones.
I think the Timor or Lesser Sundas python is exceptionally beautiful and also quite intriguing but I would leave that species for more experienced keepers. One of the short tailed pythons I really want to own one day. Those are one of the ultimate pythons for me. I also like my superdwarf retic a lot because of her looks and her alertness. Just an awesome snake. Also a wild type royal python, as strange as it may seem to some, is for me one of the most beautiful pythons. I really like the heavy build, the head and the pattern of a normal royal python. And then there are all these python species that I have no experience with and do not know much about like Amethistines, Whitelips, Ringed pythons etc. sorry for my bad English.
    About whitelips:
    Northern whitelip python: Leiopython albertisii
    Biak whitelip python: Leiopython biakensis
Karimu Basin whitelip python: Leiopython fredparkeri
Huon Peninsula whitelip python: Leiopython huonensis
Southern whitelip python: Leiopython meridionalis --- this one I like the most because of the black colour instead of the goldish
    Wau whitelip python: Leiopython montanus
This list is according to Barker & Barker, its in their latest book.
    Cheers! :)

Not gonna lie my top 5 is pretty much the same as your list:
    Gtp's
    angolan's
    Blood's
    Black head's
    Retic's.
I still need 3 of them though and the ETB trumps the gtp any day imo.

I only have 3 pythons so my top 5 is going to come down only my woma and CP (lol). Calm and ridiculously easy to feed. 2nd place is my Children Python. He would have been 1st if he was not so snappy and a little more predictable. He is usually calm, loves food and his scales have an iridescent look to it. I also have a royal python. I like him, he is a good feeder now and is very docile. Other than the paint jobs, I don't see anything special in comparison to other less popular pythons. Their feeding strikes is the #1 complaint you hear daily from new snake owners.

If they ever breed Asian vine snakes that will eat rodents, that will be all of my top five.

OK I'll bite... Though I'll say that I have not kept that many pythons and so I'm going on affection, wishful thinking an esthetics a lot of the time.
    1. Boelens python. Will probably never keep one, but it's not hard to see why I'll put them top of the list.
    2. Macklots python. Loyalty, its what I have now. Not too big, not to small, active, inquisitive, handleable, rainbows and digicam.
    3. Python timorensis. Another one based on esthetics. Love the pattern and change from head to tail.
    4. African rock. Because apparently we have to have a giant, and this was the first snake I ever held at the tender age of eight. Yes I know lots of people don't like them.
    5. Liasis fuscus. Macklots stroppy cousin. Like the genus, and I guess I like iridescent snkaes
