All these different rooftops are in Rotterdam. The host of Eurovision this year. The former winners actually performed their old winning songs on these magnificent buildings. Rotterdam is a beautiful city with amazing architecture.
All the people singing were the winners in previous EUROVISIONS.
Those to be precise: Lenny Kuhr (1969), Teach-In (met Getty Kaspers, 1975), Sandra Kim (1986), Helena Paparizou (2005), Lordi (2006) en Måns Zelmerlöw (2015)
The lady in red is Lenny Kuhr. She is dutch and won in 1969. She still looks and sound pretty good.
She's amazing. Had the privilege to see her perform live in 2019.
She's also done a cover of Anouk's song Birds in an Eurovision episode of Beste Zangers.
Yep and did you know that Lenny here voice was different in the early days? She had a throat surgery and. That chance here voice and now she sounds like this. and it suits her perfectly👌😁
She whas also on the show of Ali B: op volle touren. Where she sings for Ali b his guest. And the guest sings a song for her.
She is amazing just went to her concert in Amsterdam 10 th of july. She is a kind lady i always talk to her and some times we write messages on FB.
I'm very proud to be from Rotterdam, this is where this "party" held. They are different rooftops in the same city

Let me check, so the clock building is Hotel New York. The place where the emigrants to America used to embark from.
Than the rectangle roof is the roof of the Maassilos. Used to be a storage facility for grain etc. now turned into a party venue. And last, but certainly not least is the depot of Museum Boymans van Beuningen, also nicknamed the flowerpot (It's a Rotterdam thing to nickname their prominent architecture and art).
The performances where recorded on the rooftops and enhanced with augmented reality, so it's a case of best of both worlds. And if you're interested in their original performances, I'll look them up and send them to Mel for your perusal.
Once you win Eurovision you are a legend for all time.

Lordi represented Finland in Eurovision 2006 and that's the only time when Finland won the whole competition! Such a great band! Greetings from Finland 🇫🇮

The french girl was standing on the old building where people went to USA and Canada. The Holland-America line building.
Next year it is in Italië they won. But I have to say this was the best show in years. The first show that I watched from beginning to end. Great special effects sound and presenters. Other years it was so amateurish. Maybe because I'm Dutch I'm biased. 😂😊
Actually, excluding Madonna, Israel was realy good aswell, but they had no COVID-19 limitations.

This was exactly my feeling during the shows! I was nervous for the presenters and the whole organization. But I think we did a stellar job as a Eurovision host.
The Eurovision Song contest was held in Rotterdam (NL) this time. The rooftops you see are on 4 different rooftops in Rotterdam :)

In the beginning of Eurovision you had to song in your on langauge... I believe from 1965 till 1999. After that the most countries song in English, but there are some that stil singing in there own native language.
The howl infra and technical support was done by NEP Netherlands. They work all over the world. (My son works there.)

What is Eurovision gonna do to keep things interesting 10 years from now? First of all: Eurovision is hosted every year by the winner of the previous edition. It costs millions of dollars but also puts your country on the map for tourism, trade, etc. Most of the money is brought up by the host-country, but I believe the 5 biggest countries like France, Germany etc. pay a lot too. So their entry doesnt have to go through the semi finals, but are right in the Finals show. That being said: each year is hosted by a different country (unless they win twice in a row). That means next year (Rome, Italy) will have a different style for its a totally different country. Of course each country looks at what they are best in. We dutch have the top in djs, so 'we' used that. We also are quite far in things as augmented reality. We encorporated that with the real thing by for instance 'transporting' the Erasmusbrigde to the stage in the intervalact with Afrojack, Wulf and GG.
Italy might do it differently, according to their strengths. For instance: when you have the Colluseum, The Forum Romanum etc in your city: you are crazy not to use them... I dont know if they are gonna try to top this years show, but they can also choose to keep it small. Which also has its charm. Thing is: it is not a contest. Well its a song contest, but its also bout showing yourself to the world, having a good time together. That will always be the charm of Eurovision and that is why so many people love it.

@simoncoene7119 no it wasn't 😄 also wasn't a secret it wasn't all live. They explained how they did it afterwards (on national television), and a lot of people filmed it when they recorded it the days before the event.

They don't need to be strong. They just have to be virtual. You either need enough light on a building to be able to map the building to the software, or you need trackers (sort of like radio beacons) so you can move the projection even live with regards to the camera view with a rendering step.

Most people think that Glennis Grace was really singing on the Erasmus bridge in Rotterdam, but she was in performing the Ahoy all the time. Computer technology has really become advanced these days.

This show was exceptionally good, I mean in recent years Esc has definitely improved its quality lrvel but this year it was way better flawless both in style effects ideas performances and organization, yes they had one extra year time to plan due to last year cancellation but praise to the Dutch they were great. I am Italian and I am already very disappointed because after 2 months Rai hasn't yet picked the city/venue where to held the show and all this wasted time is all to disadvantage of the event organization.who requires a lot of time.

Eurovision Song Contest started in 1956. Europe was broken by the war and music was taken as a choice to fix it. It's more than a festival... It is pure history of Europe!! Please react yo all winners :)
Not being able to organize something with people, I guess the Eurovision hostland and the city of Rotterdam and all the artists had to come up with some kind of alternative on the rooftops of tall builings. Hey, we also need a couple of people for the lights, flying around, logistics, sound, electricity, catering, transportation and so on and so on. Apparently Rotterdam could do it.
No one is going to read this but I’ll write this anyway 😅 7:36 This singer, Lenny Kuhr, who performs this song in the video, is the original performer of the song, she won the Eurovision with this very song in 1969. And that’s not a typo. It amazes me.

Hi hc now you know what it means wen they say : ....it aint much if it aint dutch ... comes from 😄😄 ....it is al in the dutch city Rotterdam and al dutch's who made it happen .. davina michelle , glennis afrojack and wolf , duncan laurence and this rooftops show al made by dutch team especialy for the home vieuwers because of the covid .....next year is going to be in Italy because the won this year ...i loved the song of the group maneskin with zitti e buoni .... but that is personal if you like it or not ..i did like it... you wondered how they did this ...wel they used 3 rooftops on 3 locations that is why it looks like differend places but they are all 3 in Rotterdam in the beginning of the video you hear drums and see words in the film that are the locations they used you have to look closely but it is in it they did this becauce they had roles because of covid and they solved it like this ... .the Dutch are inventive as you know by now so this was to be expected from them
