    Realistically, similar to electric vehicles, the technology isn't there. On the surface, it sounds fantastic!

    • @BenjaminT.Minkler
      @BenjaminT.Minkler Рік тому +1

      for EVs, they will never be the same as petrol vehicles...so the technology really isn't at fault "now", it is how people "think" they use and fuel a car and if they can change or an EV would suit them our not ....back in 2015 my wife needed a new cheap car for in-town use(I have a big diesel that will go 600miles on a 26gal tank altho my butt won't last that long, has 7 seats, and tows our 6000+lbs boat, however takes a lot to fuel and use) and she found a 2016 Nissan Leaf she thought was 'cute' to replace her Audi convertible - we had no idea what we were getting into(and all I could think was to "wait longer" for better EVs to be available in our area) and now after 7years of use with that 'primitive' EV we still love it; as it is just so easy and inexpensive to use and maintain(ridiculously! nearly "free" in costs, time, and of problems) as every day it leaves the house with a 'full tank' only charging at home so no extra stops at some random sketchy gas station(where my diesel doesn't have that luxury) ....but it has changed how we think about cars, it almost isn't like a "car" at all; as I'm a 'petrol-head' with lots of boats, motorcycles, and an old Corvette - and all I get to do to the Leaf is check the air in the tires and washer fluid, ugh, but a blast to drive - I'll often ask to use it, instead of any of the other stuff, as even I prefer it for most stuff

Last fall added (23) 40 lb bags of pellet lime on 23000 sqft. Spring added 2 bags Lesco Dimension 18-0-4 pre-emergent/plus fertilizer. My lawn looks great overall some clovers & dandelions.

    I would say that as it stands right now, tech wise, one app for a DIY'r looking for "green grass for the kids" will do well with these even at the higher cost. But do these products fine tune based on conditions and needs? They never will, unless we would produce and keep in stock possibly 100+ variations with different combinations nutrients at varying rates. Maybe for the minimum contribution of N our programs require, we could throw down a one app product that carries the bulk of the burden, and our additional apps are still fine tuned to what we need on a particular location. But whats the difference if I add the N to those additional apps or throw it one time at a higher cost? Im going to Irish up my coffee now this was too much thought process for a Sunday 😃

    to tell the truth: I really have no 'textbook' nor 'set cyclic' idea with what I'm doing and if it really works, I only can see when it doesn't work or the yard looks like it needs something ....every season has been different apps at different times of the year, last year was the first time I tried a mid/late fall fertilizer - as that just seemed right for how the weather, soil, new/old grasses were behaving; needing to store up some power in the roots, and hopefully the grass will be strong and full to survive winter and thrive once(when/if) spring finally starts this year(things have looked great all winter) so hopefully I got lucky in this weird climate
    .....but I have no clue what this summer will be like, and what the lawn will need to prepare for that(N-Ext "Bio Stem" pack is my best guess for this spring/summer) and then everything will change for what I need in the fall with doing a whole new seeding on a new space of dirt I'm redoing and giving my full attention to; but all the other areas I did last year should be able to calm down some without being pushed too hard, so they can 'settle in' a bit

Not alot of extra surge growth and lasts until my end of summer application of Methelyne urea while the soil microbes can process it efficiently. as the temps drop going into fall I switch over to spoon feeding urea then ammonium sulphate near the end of the growing season.
