All great points and hope people watching this video understand it takes a lot for their lawns to look like yours. All depends on their location, grass type, what level their lawn is at present time, how much effort are they willing to put into it and their expectations. Rome was not built in a day.
@@Striperman you got that right. Hopefully that came across as well, if it started bad, none of this will fix it. And on the other hand, it helps folks to know that they CAN do it when they see a lawn cruising through a heat wave
JP, your lawn looks frustratingly good.
Thanks boss
My biggest tip for summer survival is wetting agents and spike aerate trouble areas.
John your lawn looks the best it ever has!
Thank you
You the MAN. 👍🏻🇺🇸
Thanks joe
Heads up I love your products and I’m having so much fun growing my UA-cam channel, revolving around my yard and my St Augustine grass here in Northeast Florida.
@@ArtieMcYardie that’s awesome! Thank you for jumping in!
Paint it!
Paint the town!
Good advice!
Lol, I spit my beer out when you said that! Funny, but true!
😉😁
Great video JP! I have a friend/ co-worker that always says to me that he wants his yard to look more like mine, and by no means am I saying that mine is always great, but then when I start going through all the steps I take and products of Green county that I use the response is “F that! Sounds like a ton of money and time spent just to have grass?! “ to which I respond it’s a labor of love, but I have zero weeds, or crabgrass and I water two to three times a week and it’s been hot here and my yard is still a nice green! Thanks as always JP!
@@gerryhenning7337 love it!
Great info as always John !
Thanks boss!
Good video 👍
Thank you
I've been watering at 6pm when my water company says it' okay to do. Denver Water says we have water pipe scouring at 5am in Denver from too many sprinklers turning on, so I moved to evenings. I think this evening time regime is working out b/c it allows long for water to uptake and penetrate compared to watering in the morning and the sun bakes off the moisture by 11am. I know some people will say beware of fungus, but humidity must be too low and it hasn't happened yet.
My climate is similar to yours, low humidity and zero chance of fungus in the lawn. Might time watering with better pressure isn’t a bad thing at all
Long time jp always great tips

I'm totally feeling #9. Underestimating how much fertilizer my lawn needed has caused issues.
There is some research suggesting not to slow down on the fertilizer in the summer, especially in regards to disease. Something along the lines of continuing to push the fertilizer will help it resist disease.
I’ve done it that way before. There’s no way to feed out of drought, but you can always catch up nutrition
My lawn has pretty much only had microgreene and humic12 this year. About 3 rounds of it so far and put down 3/4lb N in the early Spring. Looks fantastic. I need to get ahold of some Hydr8.
Pope!
@@Lawncology ❤️
When I did the math on how much water it takes for 1" of irrigation I was amazed lol
It’s a lot. I need about 3000 gallons to hit one inch a week on my lawn areas. During standard watering I was getting .75-.8 per week. I’ve cut that down in half now, it got .5 after its 10 day stretch, I have it scheduled for another .4” 7 days after that watering. We’re about to hit mid and upper 90’s for a few days so we will see how it holds
@@Lawncology we are in full on mid 90s and next to 0 rain. Its a lot of brown, just bought another aerator lol
My lawn is crunchy dry like a bone! Lol, im saving it by watering it between 4am to 5am east coast
Such a strange summer and we’re only part way in!
I just moved into a new house. Many of your videos is on maintenance. Is there a video on best practices for taking out the small growths that aren't grass? Is it just by hand? Looks like weeds and seedlings
Are you needing advice on weed controls?
@Lawncology it's partially weeds but some of it looks like small saplings.
Hey John!
What was the organic matter/wetting agent you’re using? I usually use Hydretain during our summers, but I’m interested in what you got there as well.
Thanks!
This is called
HyDr8. Both liquid and granular are currently available to Pros, DIY will be able to purchase in the next 5-7 days. One is a co-block polymer liquid, the other is a yard waste compost with the co-block poly infused.
@2:40 awesome manipulation tactics.
I live in the NE in CT and we are in a heat wave, temps between 85-95, is this too hot to blanket spray a weed control. i did not get down prodiomene and the weeds are coming in with the heat.
Yeah that happens. You’ve got to spray early early.
What sprinkler was that at the end? Ty for your time.
Those are irrigreen heads. I have a link for a discount in the video description
@@LawncologyAwesome ty
Anybody got a recommendation for grass seed for St. Louis MO?
What compostel were you talking about
@@manjarikapashi9195 I was specifically mentioning the HyDr8 granular. It’s a compost wetting agent.
When is hydr8 going to be available for the home owner?
@@logicalsarcasm8479 next week
Hey brother can I apply D-Thatch . I do have some GLS ? I am in New Jersey TTTF .
Yes
What is compost and wetting agent you are talking about where can we find it
I can get you the information on it right now but you won’t be able to grab it for about another week. Go to Greenecountyfert.com and look for HyDr8 liquid and granular
Thank you
a tip of the shades

I know you promote irrigreen, but I purchased an Oto and love it. I'm trying to figure out how to put your products in it.
There are ways to do it on your line in.
@@Lawncology It uses a garden hose and goes through their unit which has cartridges.
@@richardsmith1161 yes, you can put a cheap tank on the hose bib and inject from there
@@Lawncology Ok thanks. I'll look into it.
@@richardsmith1161 amzn.to/4cDckQ4
When is your wetting agent being released???
Bags are being filled and labels applied as we speak
@@Lawncology can't wait to try it out
Sharp blades go a long way.
@@dennispage5333 true that
When is the hydrate going to be for sale?
Next week! I’ll post a link the day it’s in stores.
@@Lawncology do you think it would be to late to put down? Grass is toasty
@@dllanzy no. It will help speed recovery and future decline
Here in deep south texas it is hard to keep water in ground 100 degree + days and high humidity its killer on lawn
You may need some surfactants
Don't water at night. Guaranteed way to grow mushrooms.
@@mike9132 the good kind?
Only issue i have is lack of water since rain keeps missing us and water restrictions. It does look pretty good still though by using wetting agents and soil amendments. Cutting at 1.25" with bermuda
@@timborski1210 nice
Not vert bright mowing in sandals.
I learned when I was young not to put my feet under my mower. In Texas as a 10 year old o mowed barefoot. I guess I grew up in a time when people didn’t have to be told that something could hurt them.
Another tip ....DON'T MOW IN FOOT WEAR LIKE HE DISPLAYS !!
Last time I checked, grown men can make their own decisions on footwear and confidence in their ability to walk behind equipment.
Why do you mow wet grass? It’s not good for the grass or your equipment.
It’s called dew and it’s on the grass when the soil is moist. The mower slices right through it and is not an issue whatsoever. The daily humidity here is less than 20%
what product is the organic matter you mentioned 🪨 ?
Hrydr8 granular. It’s a yard waste granulated compost with a soil surfactant
Thanks, bro 🫡. My fescue sod is definitely struggling in its third summer; it has never looked like this before. It was always a bit stressed in the heat but managed to pull through in the past. This year, however, it looks extremely bad. I used the water moisture meter, and it says the soil isn’t dry, so I’m super confused. Lol. Also, the other day, I noticed that the water was just pooling and not soaking into the soil when I was watering. I’m pretty sure this is due to the cheap bagged topsoil that was used before laying the sod down. I’ll definitely look into soil amendments. 🙏🏼
@@peupeuguy310 you should definitely use a wetting agent like HyDr8 to keep your soil from being hydrophobic. It will make a massive difference
@@Lawncology thnks brother 🙏🏼🫡
