"today I'm hanging out in the end", says Dire, mining Soul Sand in the nether.
But it doesn't even matter.
Came to comment that myself xD
@Agamemnon r.i.p. chester bennington
RIP
RIP Chester
22:14 Why don't you use a Hopper to push items into the press? It's from a neat little mod called "Minecraft". Just one item that push items in the direction is facing. Also it works like a small storage device with 5 item slots so you can also use it on your macerator/crusher to feed and extract all your ores. ;)
Dire might not know that molten clay can be alloyed in the smeltery - liquid dirt + seared stone + (I think) water = molten clay (the recipe is in JEI); he could make hardened clay that way.
Oh man. i forgot about this recipe. Thanks! I am using bricks as part of my house material and I rapidly run out of clay. This will make things better.
Blockbuster Gaming Wow, I had no idea that worked! With all the TiCon integration and stuff now, I don't even know what all works and doesn't.
Can you alloy Copper + Gold = Dawnstone in the Smeltery? I would guess not, unless some other mod adds it.
Also, is Blazing Pyrotheum still a valid fuel for the Smeltery? How much Blazing Pyrotheum can you get from smelting Pyrotheum Dust *in* the Smeltery?
I'm on a custom 1.11.2 pack, so pretty much anything goes, and I'm mostly default configs.
David Young it's not integration; all of those liquids are TiC except water (which, obviously, is vanilla)
1. Use a dropping conveyor belt from the cloche to take out the canola and seeds
2. Plates are faster on the metal press, I don't think two is necessary for gears and wires. Just change one of them.
3. Instead of a transfer node from a chest onto a conveyor belt, use a hopper that inputs it straight onto the metal press and you put your items into the hopper.
(I'm waiting for you to catch up so I can be inspired to continue my own world xD)
And he ALWAYS uses canola. It gives barely any power, compared to other systems. Just set up a good tree farm, and reliable power.
Fully automated Canola is about 350RF/t for a single generator, and running a pair of generators (700RF/t) shouldn't be a problem with that Cloche. There are better options later, but Canola is a big step up here.
This pack is kickin my ass, instead of rowling ahead and skipping things I don't want to do. I'm forced to stop and collect a BUNCH of different resources and proccess them into different things. I'm 18 hours in and still haven't gotten past the calculation age. It's fun in a, I'll be playing this for a very long time and that means I can finally make a kickass base, kind of way.
It also forces you to learn mods that you may not have needed to learn in the past...wait till you start playing with nuclear material :) Personally i sat in the ender age for ages, trying to get more power.
Not trying to be rude when I say "thats kinda the point". This isnt just a pack of mods like the direwolf20 pack. The point of this pack is to force the player to use all the mods and make it tough to go from one age to another. Some people like it because its more challenging (admittedly in grinding kind of way) but others wont because they would rather just have a bunch of mods and use them as they see fit. I like both but I tend to stick with the mods I know when its just a big basket of them. This mod pack forces me to use everything which I find interesting.
Reasons to use metal press to make plates: 1) Faster. 2) Freeing yourself from the savagery that is IC2 and using something that uses RF like a sensible mod.
Matthew Carter I hate when people hate on a polished mod that is ic2.
Well, you're allowed to have an opinion. No matter how wrong it is.
I find IC2 fits really smoothly into this mod pack. I don't know why you blah blah about it.
Because, it's a bunch of needlessly grindy work for a mod that could be replaced by /anything else/.
Rongmario polished doesn’t make the mod less shit
23:12 I really thought that he was gonna say "I'm in dire need of wood"
Umm....just transfer out of the chest with the transfer node?
I don't play this game for quite a while, but since it transfers to nearby containers, wouldn't work with pipes or vanilla hopper?
Shaidon7 this pack changes the recipes also don't think pipes are in anymore but i have played this pack. Hopper would work if he turned it back sideways but dire hates hoppers. Rofl
Doesn't that mod that add that farming gadget have it's own pipe system? Or was removed for the mod?
Shaidon7 forestry? If that is what your talking don't know if they have pipes anymore. Which mod?
Joseph Bentley maybe he means ie? In which case its conveyers.
Cloche will output to ie conveyor belts too, try them
Andrea Hailes I was saying the same thing. It just shows how much he doesn't really know some mods.
Well its pretty difficult to know every single thing about every single mod.
He could also use flat transfer nodes on a double chest
Or he could just transfernote the itmes out of the chest
I making the comment about every single mod. I.E. has been around for a good 2 years and its a fantastic mod that is underappreciated. Plus conveyor belts are way cheaper than transfer nodes.
I'm pretty sure Direwolf20 doesn't read UA-cam comments, but in case anybody else could use this info: DON'T use higher voltage Immersive Engineering wires than you need to, because they apply an "inefficiency penalty" when their bandwidth is underutilized. For example, I had an Improved Windmill farm generating about 400RF/t at 200 height. I sent that down to the ground over HV coils (which can send max 4096RF/t), and was only getting 230RF/t at level 60, where my machines lived. Replacing that power line with MV coils (which max at 1024RF/t), I was getting 340RF/t at the ground, and as I added more windmills to the top of the pole, the power transmission only became more and more efficient.
tl;dr:
LV coils: 256RF/t.
MV coils: 1024RF/t.
HV coils: 4096RF/t.
Use the lowest tier of these you can that's still enough bandwidth to fit how much you're sending per tick over it.
wtf dire a few weeks ago you said in the let's play series that rotating the cloche is only a visual thing and you need to break it and replace it to change the output direction....and you forgot
Ohh god, he's a human who forgets thing? HOW TERRIBLE!!!
It actually does work now though anyway, I've tried it myself in AoE.
Dire just thought you should know.. Diorite and andesite count as stone in recipes.
Hey Direwolf, figured I'd at least come and say that I am in fact really enjoying this series. It's making me really want to pick up this pack and see what I can do with it. I've been basically binge watching your Minecraft playthroughs over the past two or three weeks because my GTX 960 died (Replacement is in the process of being shipped) and I've been in total potato graphics mode for a month now. As much as your wiring always ends up driving me up the walls, I super enjoy watching your content. Thank you for the entertainment.
I really enjoy the fact Dire is building a house and storing in a drawer the best thing ever cobblestone.
#COBBLE=LYFE
I'm glad dire reminded me cloches existed, because I found yesterday while playing a different pack that they treat mystical crops as normal crops, so now I'm rolling in iron essence.
Judy Hopps got to try this 😁
Glad he got his feet wet with immersive engineering in the last let's play. We'll have a diesel gen running in no time!
"I need a dozen steel plates" *uses metal former instead of block cutter he built and was amazed by. Dire noooooooo! lol xD
Dire placing a torch in his building on the floor! 19:25 "I hate it, but it has to be for now." :P
Too bad Dire kinda don't understand how IE electricity network works. He said in one of the previous episodes that the relay is a bottleneck of everything, which is not true. The only limiting factors in IE when talking about power distribution are *connectors* and *wires*. In this case it's the connector - he was inputing into the network from a single LV connector which means that he was able to pull out 256RF/t max for all of the machines in his RF room. Switching to MV was a kind'a good move, but wasn't that necessary. He could just swap the connectors to MV where he needed it the most (empowerer setup) and then make a transformer to lover it to LV and connect all other machines. On this scale the concern of RF loss is negligently small but if he would play it right it would look lit AF :)
Gravlok So true! I was really hoping he would dive deep into I.E. electrical systems. It has so much potential.
Gravlok but... In order to connect mv and lv power, transformers need to be used in order to bridge the gap. Now, one could make the IE transformers, but Dire would probably slap capacitors everywhere and call it kosher.
True... this is Dire. He Dires all of the things. If he could he would already make everything HV.
Dire a Block Cutter from Ic2 is always a nice way for plates.. cuts a block into 9 plates rather rapid with overclockers
conveyor belts auto-pull from the gloche and i think if you use the dropper conveyor belts they will drop the items into the right drawers. no need for the chest there....
Hey Dire you should go to the NNW (North,North,West) there's a messa biom +- 600 blocks from your base, you'll have free clay there.
Not sure if you ever figured it out, but I'm watching the old episodes and the mouse wheel to take one item feature is in MouseTweaks, not InvTweaks. It's not installed by default.
If you hit the Reservoir with a Yeta Wrench, it will output water on its own to things touching it, no fluid pipe needed.
Dire, in jei if you neglect to hit shift when clicking the "move items" button it will only move enough items to complete one craft.
David Clark that just shows a ghost recipe if they didn't change it
Y tho that was in nei, jei has the one item thingy
It drives me up the wall that dire doesn't know this. Unfortunately, he doesn't really read UA-cam comments much, so it's not like he'll learn this information.
The cloche isn't an inventory. It is always in push mode, so putting a chest right in front of it may be your best option. Also, didn't you already tackle this problem in your single player?
Edit: also, the ducts from thermal dynamics work with the cloche.
TechReborn is basically GregTech. And from what I remember from GT Industrial Grinder is upgrade (might be sidegrade) to macerator
When dire never replanted his trees
I am enjoying playing this pack and I am enjoying watching you play this pack.
u can use a hopper
conveyor belt for auto output for the cloche
Break and rotate the garden cloche then you can pipe out of it. And you could make another water wheel to get some use out of the Lv wires you have laying around.
you can press backspace to go through your JEI lookup history instead of clicking on the target item each time!
you have to use an immersive engineering conveyor belt from immersive engineering for the garden cloche
Holy Canola Batman! That Garden Cloche is even faster than I remembered! Progressing to the next age will be nice, but will probably take a lot of power. Full Canola ahead? #gardencloche4thewin
This is direwire taken to an extreme
I know dire won't see but solar panels from solar flux are pretty good
The empowerer is transparent, so you could hide a torch underneath.
Dire, as a heads up, you need to use LV connectors to make MV connectors
even better would be to replace all the IE wire for ActA energy relays. Much cheaper and can transfer a lot more power.
You probably figured it out already, but a conveyer belt on the top front portion of the gardener will empty it.
A question and a tip:
What other spawner systems do you recommend for a 1.11.2 pack, since EnderIO hasn't come to us yet?
Also, I realize it may be a ways off in AoE, but making the switch to Compacting Drawers and a Drawer Controller early on can make your life so much easier in the long run, especially if you move into a digital storage mod. The cost for a Drawer Controller, beyond wood and stone, is only 1 Diamond, 2 Quartz, and 6 Redstone Dust, and can support an enormous amount of items, compared to even the 64k equivalent cells in something like RS or AE. Combined with Compacting Drawers, you get free auto-crafting of various forms of the same material, compressed blocks, etc...
Just a tip ;)
In AoE the drawer controller is not as benign as 1 diamond, 2 quartz and some redstone. I don't even remember all of the parts that it requires. However, he *may* be able to build it now, not sure.
As for a spawner in 1.11, you could use a resturbed spawner from Extra Utilities 2. They work ok.
Adam Roy Sure, that makes sense. In general though, I recommend them.
A Resturbed Spawner is basically a vanilla spawner with a Drop of Evil on it? Will they spawn all the time on Cursed Earth? Does Cursed Earth still make vanilla spawners spawn constantly?
Yes, a resturbed spawner is a vanilla spawner with drop of evil. If you want to change the type of the spawner, change it *before* you resturb it. As for the specifics of how it and cursed earth works, i dont know. I haven't used it much.
Adam Roy How can you change the mob type of a vanilla spawner?
The only way i know of is with a spawner changer (i think that name is right) from Actually Additions
somebody say dire techreborn is a re-writed gregtech 3
Burak Öztürk köfte hayranısın demek :D
I'm pretty sure the Industrial Grinder is like a upgraded macerator.
what about the reservoir's auto output, just hitting it with a wrench. and now being able to be any shape instead of 2x2x1
Hey Dire, you sure you found Soul Sand in the End? You never said you found a stronghold.
Dire you may need a world interaction upgrade in the transfer node to make it take stuff out.
Dire go for IE Diesel Engines its cheap for the RF you get.
with the garden cloche you need a chest as a buffer between it and Item conduits or transfer nodes.
Na transfer nodes work fine, just dire is forgetful.
ah didn't know about transfer nodes i know Item conduits don't work. Watching dire is painful sometimes.
Agreed >> at least he's entertaining, But he even noticed the bug before about it only rotating the visual before lol
Nvm, guess I am wrong, Unless he broke and replaced the cloche in editing when he swapped it to the chest. Remember it being a thing in other versions.
"TechReborn? I'm not familiar with this mod..."
Isn't it basically an unofficial version of older gregtech?
JiiKoo he doesn't know GT.
Rongmario oh. I guess that would explain it, then. I just sort of assumed he would, turns out I shouldn't have. Thanks for pointing that out.
a few yrs ago Dire did play Gregtech. We all did. I hated the grindiness of it.
Reverend Maillet-Crutcher he played really really beta GregTech which was awesome
It's not as bad. Sure, massive machines and all, but nowhere near as hard to get into and some really good building aids, and... doesn't try to enforce 1wood=2plank.
Hey dire use conveyors from IE for the cloche to transfer items
Wouldn't cloche output into transfer pipe? It definitely works with mekanism pipes and thermal expansion pipes
dire you derp, you can just have canola be outputted to a chest then have the transfer node move it to thr drawers
man Direwolf destroy's his house in this series more then in the scripted endings
23:00 I guess you could say your wood situation is... dire.
Don't forget to do the rod press
I think the step from LV power to MV is a waste of time and resources - I changed my wiring straight to HV as soon as I could afford the steel. The empowerer would benefit a lot! HV capacitors directly on each display stand are also very wothwhile, IMO.
You can have it autopumping it into a chest behind it- then pipe it out of the chest
I can't wait till Dire tries a bronze gear in the metal press, that'll be a fun time. lol
What will happen?
_lion123 incoming crash in , five, four, three...
I wish you would mute your phone during recordings. Mute it and take it off your desk so we don't need to hear it vibrate.
He is on call with his Real Life job. He has to be able to hear it.
Wouldn't the Cloche not need a transfer node and would just push into the transfer pipes on its own...?
Raloris MMO what?? Since when have transfer pipes worked like that??
Get a Diesel generator and PA planters/more cloches! it's 4KRF/t and pretty passive if you ask me
1 9x9 farm should be enough
Dire try out biomass as power source u can use it for EU too
Realms of "not to hard to makery"
you should look into mekanism's 3x,4x and 5x ore processing
Maybe eventually. Mekanism is like Age 11.
Dire, you know that you can use a simple hopper to insert stuff in the press, right?
if u alloy smelt them in quartz blocks they cook ×3 fast
#Diretime and #Direfail
Dire i hope you make storage drawer controller soon so i can see how to get the circuits needed i haz no idea how that mod works so im waiting on you to touch upon it in this pack :P also you should get a drill from actually additions, they are amazingly good ^_^
converge that have the dropper may work
try replacing the chest for a drawer that holds 2 items for the cloche
You should get someone to actually build you a base besides cobblestone boxes
Nope, Cobblestone 9x9s are the model of efficiency.
i saw a building tutorial early april, was this pro minecrafter. he said the cobble 9x9s are the best and explained all you need to know about building them
Michael Phillips that's the funniest thing!
It would be more efficient with bigger buildings, as that would get you more area/volume with less cobblestone.
27 by 27 should be the new 9 by 9
But lighting it without floor torches would be a pain, especially if you don't want to use glowstone in the floor either.
8 hardened stone can be crafted directly into 32 stone
Block Cutter still Reigns Supreme for making plates. Please make a Block Cutter.
3 words dire world interaction upgrade for the transfer node
Yea keep it up im plying a long with you so yea cant wait until you start making end game item but anyway love the videos
could you use the garden cloche to farm ender lilies?
if you can that would be awesome and might be slightly broken
Yes, but I don't think you get the same speed boost due to the way ELs are coded.
chris909090 the water/fertilizer originally sped it up. I don't know if that's been fixed. But when soaryn tried it on a forgecraft they both said it was a tad op.
In the garden thing can you put soul sand and nether wart?
Yes.
TheBelgianWaffl _ Gaming and ender lily on endstone which in cloches is op as fuk!
can you do maybe tr3 oil gen power? I would like to see how it is done and its just good over all
Just a quick question, how come you don't record in 1080p?
you can build a mob farm using cursed earth
It auto outputs onto conveyors
Is the Garden Cloche only in the absolute latest version of Immersive Engineering?
Imagine that with Red Orchids (i.e. redstone seeds) with an Imaginary Time Block, that's OP on a level I can't describe!
Deinonychus194 even without it produces obscene amounts of redstone
Why not pump from the chest into the drawers?!
BUILD SOME !@#$%^&**^ DOORS!
the quality PLEASE 1080x1920 hd 60fps !!!
Juriaan Romkes why? Minecraft doesn't need any better then 480p...its not a AAA game....
8 Hardened stone = 32 stone
so you ran into the same visual bug you ran into with soaryn.. it doesnt rotate..
are electric lamps still a thing in this version
Dire has to go mining for cobble and clay....what is this Episode 1?
Oduunich Loftuer episode minus 1 billion!
Please make an alabaster castle
Why does it take modded Minecraft sooooooo long to start up? Can we go back to the early days where the game just loaded up a little slower than normal instead of needing 10+minutes?
Does anyone know the best way to get Obsidian in this pack? I love compacting drawers, but each one takes 36 Obsidian, which takes forever to mine manually...
Eisbaer Borealis Lava factory from actually additions and transfer node with mining upgrade over infinite Walter source and then just pipe Thema both into a smeltery or into tinkers tanks and from them Into smeltery
Atleast that what i use in my game
Not just 36 obsidian, but 37 iron too, I believe! Anyway, each time I go to the Nether or to mine, I take a few EIO tanks. I fill them with lava for obsidian production, from a Ranged Pumps pump in the Nether, or manually with buckets down below level 13 while mining. I use an Actually Additions Fluid Placer to pour it out next to water to make the obsidian, then an AA Block Breaker to automatically and instantly mine the obsidian.
The nice thing about using EIO tanks to collect lava, is you can leave a large Neotech tank on top of the Fluid Placer, so it auto drains in. Right click the Neotech tank with the EIO one, and it'll instantly dump its inventory in like a large bucket. Then walk away while it makes you obsidian.
Yeah, but the Iron is a side effect when I'm mining for diamonds. I have to go out of my way to get obsidian.
Felix, do you have a way to make sure you get the same amount of water and lava? I think I might use your Lava Factory idea and mlindholm's Block Breaker idea. Thanks!
It this modpack have magical crop ?😕😕
Dire make a mining and diggers backpacks
Direwolf20 Do a marbel room whit marbel pilar to you Trofy room
Keri patur puturdan geldim sa
at least thats the easiest way
my ocd is on fire
techreborn is the old IC2 and gregtech combined (and i dont like it)
"alloy smelter" = alloy smeltery ??
one of the first at least :D
15th yay no blue shell for me!
