    I'm barely at 5:27 and I already learned more than I did in about 4 other useless youtube videos talking about electrolytes. ❤

      Thank you! I know with this video I had to walk the fine line between people that really want to learn and know what they are and why we need them and people that just wanna know what to take. I had watched a bunch of videos myself and that’s why I chose the way I did. So many would say “this is what I take, here is how to mix it and the cost” but never explain why. At that, as I mentioned in the video, I wanted people to know how to make a mix that’s designed for them… so they get the biggest benefit of it. Thanks again! 🙏🏻

    Absolutely love this! Only thing I would recommend is not to store the powder in any random plastic container. Ideally, put it inside of a glass jar that you can close tightly with a lid. Don’t want any plastic particles absorbed into the powder.

    Some good news for people who might want to experiment with flavors: In doing some research it seems having some sugar actually helps hydrate you. I figured it's worth mentioning although you have to take into account the sugar you're already eating throughout the day to not overdo it. Eating some fruit with the drink would be ideal!

    Unless you're sensitive/allergic to glutamine, it should be in your electrolyte mix. Increases your absorbtion rate greatly. Makes it more effective .

    The thing with sodium is that we get it from nearly everything we eat - particularly processed foods. From seasonings to preservatives, it appears in everything we eat.

      Thank you! I have my next appointment for bloodwork on August 15th. I’m looking forward to seeing what it says, especially for my sodium & potassium since they operate on both ends of the same scale and we need a balance (heavy on the potassium side). Thanks again! 🙏🏻

    Any draw back to mixing it all together and scooping it out vs making individual servings with exact measurements? Obviously you save a ton of time and materials doing it in bulk like that, but I've seen a lot of other videos that portion them out individually.

    • @FatGuyNoMore
      @FatGuyNoMore  2 місяці тому +2

      None that I’m aware of, just make sure (as you saw me do in the video) that you shake it up VERY good to get it good and mixed. That’s why I like to use a big Mason jar, makes mixing it easy. I believe it would be like buying a premixed electrolyte mixture. It’s effectively what big companies do, but they make a much bigger batch before putting it either in single serve or as I used to buy it, 30 day tubs.

    How are your blood levels now? I think we are going to try this so thank you so much! My question is how do you know that your 1 heaping tsp is giving you the proper amount? You did the math for cost but not for what your body needs daily. So if you need x amount of potassium per day, how do you know you are getting it?

    • @FatGuyNoMore
      @FatGuyNoMore  2 місяці тому +1

      I haven’t had bloodwork done yet since I upped to these marks. I will have that done on 8/14. However, overall I am feeling great! I did have a couple days where my Potassium/Sodium was way off (low sodium mostly - I target a low sodium amount but I was VERY low) so I adjusted that (I’ll do a video on it probably in 2 weeks) and I’m feeling great! The scoop I used, I measured the weight and it’s right at 7.25g like I need (total weight of mix divided by number of servings). So I know as long as it’s a heaping one of that scoop, I’m good. I’m sure occasionally it varies, but as an average it’s right on. As for what my body needs, correct. I can only know what I was doing, what the labs show and make adjustments. I’ll see with this next set of bloodwork if I am good. If so, I’ll keep it up. If not, adjust it as needed. As I mentioned in the video, to make adjusting easier, it’s why I like to make it just 30 days at a time. I track all of my intake, including my electrolyte drinks, in MyFitnessPal. It shows me there how much potassium I am bringing in daily. I shoot for it to be between 4700-5100mg a day. Once I get my next labs done, I can adjust that if needed based on those results. ❤️

    Is there a recipe that will generally work for everyone without the need for a blood test?

    • @FatGuyNoMore
      @FatGuyNoMore  2 місяці тому +2

      That’s a tough question as stated. What are you taking them for? General health? To aid in weight loss? For recovery after work outs? It really will depend. Knowing your bloodwork results sure helps to fine tune, but you can just make a simple mix with 50-100mg of the basics. That would certainly aid in getting more into your body and help with overall sense of well being. If it’s for weight loss, I would suggest a little more potassium and magnesium, especially if you need it to aid in constipation (magnesium citrate is very helpful for that). For recovery after a work out, it might be wise to go a little higher on sodium and potassium as these are the big ones we lose via sweat while working out. The best part of mixing your own is you can adjust it as needed depending on your current situation. If you need a little more of one, add it. Back off others if it’s warranted. I would say that overall there is no “One Size Fits All” for an electrolyte mix and that’s why having as much information as possible when you put your mix together is helpful. Thanks for watching and the question. 🙏🏻

    Sir plz tell me i a m norman 24 year old boy with not Alhamdulillah i m over waight doing omad from about a month and now i want to extend my fasting period so now i need electrolyte.
    How many tea spoon of each should i mix together and how much tea spoon should i take per day in my fasting goal ?..?

    • @FatGuyNoMore
      @FatGuyNoMore  25 днів тому

      Unfortunately there isn’t really a “One size fits all”. There isn’t an amount of each that works for everyone. You really have to know your specifics or at least have a good guess at your levels to know how much to take of each, honestly. Sorry.

    6:46 what about magnesium glycinate? Is that one better for sleeping? I'd never heard about magnesium malate until today.

    • @FatGuyNoMore
      @FatGuyNoMore  Місяць тому +1

      The amino acid glycine has shown in studies to aid in sleeping so magnesium glycinate should do that since it is a compound of magnesium and glycine. Plus, giving the benefits of magnesium itself.

      @FatGuyNoMore for a electrolytes drink though, would magnesium malate be better than magnesium glycinate? (I am staying away from magnesium citrate because I don't need help going to the bathroom)😅

    Can you just consume these in tablet form

    • @FatGuyNoMore
      @FatGuyNoMore  15 днів тому +1

      I would suppose you could. But let’s look at potassium alone. For me, I have 1000mg per drink of that. The highest MG pill you can buy is 99mg. You’d need just over 10 of those to get 1000mg each time you wanted to consume that amount… which I do 2x/day. Then you’d have to add all the rest as well. That would be quite a few pills to take at once, 2x/day. This is not just cheaper than doing that, it’s much more convenient as well.

      @@FatGuyNoMore Thanks for the informative video. I believe only potassium chloride and citrate are regulated to be under 100mg per pill
      I take potassium bicarbonate it is 510mg per capsule. I take 2 to 3 a day.

    • @FatGuyNoMore
      @FatGuyNoMore  2 місяці тому +1

      I started my journey back in Sept of 2022. I wish I knew about electrolytes back then because yes, I believe it would have helped me all around like they do now. I had several days back then where I just suffered. I hardly have a bad day now and I fully believe it’s due to balancing my electrolytes. They play such an important role in how our bodies function. When you’re low or completely outta whack, you’re gonna feel like 💩 for sure.
