Pomplamoose was started by Jack Conte and Nataly Dawn. Jack started up Scary Pockets as a side band, leaving most of the responsibility for Pomplamoose to Nataly. Stories was started by some of the other musicians from Scary Pockets, who wanted to cover popular music not only as funk tracks, but also as intimate acoustic records. There’s something beautiful and cyclical about seeing Nataly here now. All three bands are great, and they make one big diverse music family.
Last couple of years I feel like Nataly has become more comfortable and expressive with her singing. There’s more feeling there, and more of *her* in it. And *I’m* feeling *that.*
All along the Western front People line up to receive She got the power in her hand To shock you like you won't believe Saw her in the amazon With the voltage running through her skin Standing there with nothing on She gonna teach me how to swim I said, "ooh, girl Shock me like an electric eel Baby girl Turn me on with your electric feel" I said, "ooh girl Shock me like an electric eel Baby girl Turn me on with your electric feel" All along the Eastern shore Put your circuits in the sea This is what the world is for Making electricity You can feel it in your mind Oh, you can do it all the time Plug it in, change the world You are my electric girl I said, "ooh, girl Shock me like an electric eel Baby girl Turn me on with your electric feel" I said, "ooh girl Shock me like an electric eel Baby girl Turn me on with your electric feel" Do what you feel now Electric feel now Do what you feel now Electric feel now Do what you feel now Electric feel now Do what you feel now Electric feel now Do what you feel now Electric feel now
It's a "prepared" piano sound. Might be masking tape. That would certainly be easier than the old-school way of weaving paper through the strings, over-under-over-under style.
She is Incredible on this! Love how clean and clear her voice is ♡. Anyone else think that Teddy Swims could maybe pass for a member of the ICP if he had makeup and stuff on...just sayin 😜

Anyone else notice how her husband's mannerisms are rubbing off on her? Love the slide playing and the concept of accoustic versions of these tunes. You guys were great, as always! 👌
It seems like they gravitate towards musicians who express themselves physically. I guess they sense kinship. It does seem to help them make great music, though. I wonder if someone's done a scientific study into this.

@@storiesacoustic so basically everything involves Jack being apparently overly (although in reality quite accurately) excited about music
Don't forget Scary Goldings! 😀
Ryan Lerman and Natalie Dawn put out an album together in 2012 called Easier Said Than Done.
I love it all
And the vulfpack just likes to come over for drinks 😂
a superb and intricate acoustic cover with a haunting & saccharine feel + sapphic vibes ? absolutely legendary
My wish is granted! Nataly on Stories again, no headphones, steel guitar, haunting song...awesome.
I absolutely love this song...heard it first on Sirius XM Chill. This cover is fantastic...the steel guitar is brilliant.

Man that steel sounds absolutely incredible
The bounce is this is so lethal. Love it
One of the best ones yet.
Stories is really squeezing the musical juice out of this pomplamoose 😉

Yes, yes, and yes!!!! Love her voice!
this is great!! can anyone explain to what's going on with the piano? I can hear muting but I've never heard anything quite like it
I believe it's masking tape on the strings. Jack Stratton calls it a masking tape piano in the creds for IGF4
Correction, it was on disco ulysses not IGF

Many thanks both, will do some tests on my upright and see what I come up with!
Alexandre Hurr- GO, man. Tinkering is how it all starts.
This is amazing, but have you tried it at +1.25x speed? Slapper
Smart man you 😂🙏🏽
I've tried it at 0.75 X speed - it sounds bloomin amazing
Haidar Ali this is better! I mean if she sing it exactly how it's done it's kinda boring. this speed is perfect 👍🏽
She is Incredible on this! Love how clean and clear her voice is ♡.

Wow! La amo. Mi nuevo canal favorito.
You give me goosebombs

Took a high energy, horny song and made it sound a bit Hozier. I feel impressed
the lap guitar is a nice touch :D
Bit too prominent for me

Anyone know what that vocal mic is?
Oooooo good one!
Nataly dawn is gorgeous
Can you guys do a version of Together in Electric Dreams?
Gorgeous
"Electric Feel" on acoustic....oh the irony! Great cover.
I'm a sucker for pedal steel.
Using musicians like Goldings and Hinman is almost cheating
I'm not always a fan of her vocals on Pomplamoose, but this was sensational!
Electric Avenue please!
Yeey Nataly
WAAAAHHHH
Don't usually say this but *after* a listen hit it with the 1.25 speed..
Larry Goldings is always down

Натуся классная.
Oh Nataly....
0.75x you're welcome

Pedal steel guitar isn't acoustic... just sayin :p
