I've said it before and I'll say it again. ALL EU Hard Rocks are run under licence by The Palladium Group & I honestly cannot believe HR haven't had them up in court by now. If you go to a HRR/ HRH in the Caribbean then you don't have to book a Rock Royalty room for EVERYTHING in your room to free. If it's in your room, it's yours. You run out at 3 in the morning and want a resupply - it'll be there asap ( from experience they aim for 30 mins max 24/7 but it can take longer depending on request) AND that full bar restock will be FOC! imho TPG are being allowed to run the brand into the ground cutting every corner they can whenever they can. AI should ( by the brands own statements) mean EVERYTHING, ALL INCLUSIVE. I have issues with the Punta Cana location charging for nightclub access because it is also open to the public as a 'destination'. In reality anyone staying there can just ask for a free entry voucher & 99% of the time they throw them at you but even that is a bone of contention to me. REAL Hard Rock Resorts / Hotels are a totally different world and I hope you try one one day ( personal fave is Riviera Maya, Mexico but others mileage may vary)

I've worked at the hard rock cafe in Germany and I know the company quite well! This video will definitely change things fast cause this is so bad for their reputation as customers satisfaction is on the top of their list and this is unacceptable! Gaby is gorgeous and it's so lovely to see her living it up with you. They say to travel "while you're young", but you two show a great example of staying young and not settling for less. Much praise for that and being great parents.
I hope that the Hard Rock group see this Tim, absolutely disgusting room. Not just the cleanliness, but basic maintenance in the room as well. So glad you complained too many people would have just put up with it and as for the children's playground, that is no joke, seriously dangerous.

That was grimey and paying over a grand for a night, the standard of service should be on point. i.e. a service manager with a team of cleaners and check lists and supervisors checking rooms before guests arrived, especially if its a 5 star. In the Seychelles they rake the beach ffs.

I AM getting old, but I am one of the first rock and roll generations and while I still enjoy rock music [and other kinds as well] I don't like it loud while dining. You can't hear yourself eat 😉 But, seriously, I like to talk to my dining companion[s] and loud music overwhelms the social aspects of dining out and leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I don't like menus on my phone either. Come on... a printed menu please.

I've been in this hospitality industry over 8 years now and currently run a hotel in the US. That lack of cleanliness is extremely disturbing and any complaining you would have done would be justified. If I worked there I wouldn't have even been annoyed with the situation as obviously multiple people dropped their standards for that room. It's a shame.
Just love your style of reporting. I think you would be the most descriptive person and this is what I like if I am to book one of the places you stayed.
So I can give a bit of info about this hotel. It used to be called the Don Toni and it was run by a hotel group called Fiesta. Not sure for how long but I have many happy memories staying there about 6 or 7 times between 1998/99 (when I was 3ish) and 2011 (when I was 16ish). I think 2011 was a year or so before it was taken over by Hard Rock and I also noticed that year that Playa D'en Bossa was becoming more of a party place (it was usually San Antonio people went to for partying). Ushuaia had opened next door a little before the Don Toni closed and more party-like beach bars were also opening. The clientele of the area had changed too, becoming younger. Back to the Don Toni, the place was separated into 2 parts, there was Club Don Toni which was all the white buildings where Tim stayed along with the big pool and pool bar, and Hotel Don Toni which was the large building shown with the large Hard Rock logo on the side and where the restaurant and smaller pool is but it was all 'Don Toni' so you could use all the pools, restaurants, and facilities no matter which part you stayed in. I mainly stayed in the Club part with family over the years and from the video I think the white buildings themselves are still the same but the rooms are massively different (and I'm not just talking about the decor, they were much cleaner back then!). When it was the Don Toni, it was a 3-star hotel but a lovely, wholesome place that was clean (have I said that?) with friendly, caring staff. It was a shame to see the first room be so dirty and it sounds like reception staff weren't too helpful either. It feels like the hotel now is a bit 'all fur coat and no knickers'. It's just another hotel to add to the Hard Rock collection, soulless, no one seems to care about it's standards. And as for the price... A £1000 a night for Tim's room and what do you get? The privilege of paying 6 Euros for a small packet of cookies? No thanks, I'll save my money and put it into building a time machine that can take me back 20 years so I can stay once more at the hotel I loved ❤️
Fiesta hotels playa den bossa were great back then; fantastic beach set up; and all the games and sports facilities....Palm Beach and Bahamas multiple times. Big changes now to 20 years ago.

Shocking is an understatement! I’ve never seen a dirtier hotel room in my entire life. I hope they see your video and change the management! I don’t believe it’s a simple casualty; the whole hotel is mismanaged and filthy.

That hotel seems to have a cleaning supervision problem, plus low standards of management quality control. Sometimes different cleaning supervisors have varying levels of competence.
It occurred to me also that there may be different housekeeping supervisors in different parts of the hotel. Obviously, your second suite was clean to a much better standard, so I'm glad you were able to change, but the first one made such a bad impression and shouldn't be tolerated. Upper management dropped the ball... and to not get any kind of informational greeting when you checked in and no info on hotel facilities for your toddler Casper... was another ball dropped.
Probably a combination of bad management and overworked staff. The room they gave him probably got cleaned before he went in there. But overall it just looks like a bad quality hotel. Probably have low morale. Should definitely be downgraded. Going to be a nightmare for their brand. Tim gets loads of views.
It confuses me how a hotel knows how to move you to a cleaner suite. Do they have a list of these for complaining guests? Why are they aware which are cleaner than others? Why are they all not cleaned to the same standard?

So far from a 5 star hotel, this is like a 3 star at best. I don't think most folks actually know what a 5 star hotel should look like. They are spotless everywhere, you are fully greeted, your room is perfect. This is nowhere close to 5 stars, I don't care what review stars say.

It’s so lovely when the family joins you. We travel as a family and find all the info useful. We don’t get to travel overseas as much so when we do it’s nice having the information that your family has already been there and you know you’re truly getting a five star family hotel experience. We are off to Disney World in two weeks so if we live throw that again hopefully an overseas trip will be next on the list. lol Thank You for the video, Tim!!!

I think I spent the first 15 minutes going OMG over and over. I was a travel agent for 30 years and traveled all over (which is the whole reason for the job). I'm very picky about cleanliness in hotels, dining rooms, etc. No way could I put a client where I wouldn't stay. I'm very glad you were able to change rooms, I couldn't imagine Casper in there...
I don't know what it is but I always smile when I hear Caspar in the background and then see him running around and I know he's going to be part of the video. He's amazing.

Too many things in this video that make me dislike the Hardrock experience. Having to use scanners to see the menu is annoying to me. Hi tech is a pain in ordinary situations. The amount of dirt and dinginess is totally unacceptable. So happy you found a better room but considering your request you would have thought your room to be spotless. I have been staying in Menorca the same time you were in Ibiza, there had been sand storms blowing up from Sahara, would explain why it was so windy and sandy, even more reason to keep it clean though.

That is consistent with what I have always heard about Hard Rock Hotels. I had a mixed experience with the Hard Rock Cafe in the mid-80's as a teenager and have not tried any of their franchises since.
I fly from Ibiza as a pilot, and seeing the Hard rock hotel at the end of the runway I always questioned whether guests can actually get any sleep with us overhead
Loved Ibiza when i was there i stayed in the Casa Luis hotel which looks way better than that place the food was nice the Entertainment was absolutely bang on and Geoffrey you my friend are an Excellent Host! 👍✌️❤️🙏

Rightly so for complaining Tim as that first room was completely unacceptable for the high price you paid, why on earth would they think thats acceptable! At least your new room was a lot better and most importantly clean but I’m glad they refunded the difference. I've stayed in a motel 6 that was cleaner than this 5 star hotel. The smell in the shower comes from rags that are left in dirty water. They get that musty smell and it becomes sour. That is just laziness on the cleaners, or it could be pressed for time issues and short staffing. Either way, from the unclean accommodations to what seemed like rude staff, this trip wasn't as great as it should have been.

Probably a combination of bad management and overworked staff. The room they gave him probably got cleaned before he went in there. But overall it just looks like a bad quality hotel. Probably have low morale. Should definitely be downgraded. Going to be a nightmare for their brand. Tim gets loads of views.
It confuses me how a hotel knows how to move you to a cleaner suite. Do they have a list of these for complaining guests? Why are they aware which are cleaner than others? Why are they all not cleaned to the same standard?

So far from a 5 star hotel, this is like a 3 star at best. I don't think most folks actually know what a 5 star hotel should look like. They are spotless everywhere, you are fully greeted, your room is perfect. This is nowhere close to 5 stars, I don't care what review stars say.

It’s so lovely when the family joins you. We travel as a family and find all the info useful. We don’t get to travel overseas as much so when we do it’s nice having the information that your family has already been there and you know you’re truly getting a five star family hotel experience. We are off to Disney World in two weeks so if we live throw that again hopefully an overseas trip will be next on the list. lol Thank You for the video, Tim!!!

Average standard of Restaurants and hotels have generally improved, but so has the price.
Its nice to eat with quiet music, i agree with you. Good job they put you outside if minimum spend was that much.
I think I spent the first 15 minutes going OMG over and over. I was a travel agent for 30 years and traveled all over (which is the whole reason for the job).
I'm very picky about cleanliness in hotels, dining rooms, etc. No way could I put a client where I wouldn't stay. I'm very glad you were able to change rooms, I couldn't imagine Casper in there...
Actually gasped outloud when you revealed the price you paid! Can`t believe it was more expensive than Raffles in Doha.
I don't know what it is but I always smile when I hear Caspar in the background and then see him running around and I know he's going to be part of the video. He's amazing.

Too many things in this video that make me dislike the Hardrock experience. Having to use scanners to see the menu is annoying to me. Hi tech is a pain in ordinary situations. The amount of dirt and dinginess is totally unacceptable. So happy you found a better room but considering your request you would have thought your room to be spotless. Thanks for the extremely diligent review!

I have been staying in Menorca the same time you were in Ibiza, there had been sand storms blowing up from Sahara, would explain why it was so windy and sandy, even more reason to keep it clean though.
It's a shame to see the initial room wasn't up to the standards of the Tenerife hotel! Have you thought about visiting Turkey, I'm travelling to Rixos Premium Belek in October, and it would be great to see you reviewing it one day! Great video as always 😊

That is consistent with what I have always heard about Hard Rock Hotels. I had a mixed experience with the Hard Rock Cafe in the mid-80's as a teenager and have not tried any of their franchises since.

I fly from Ibiza as a pilot, and seeing the Hard rock hotel at the end of the runway I always questioned whether guests can actually get any sleep with us overhead

Rightly so for complaining Tim as that first room was completely unacceptable for the high price you paid, why on earth would they think thats acceptable! At least your new room was a lot better and most importantly clean but I’m glad they refunded the difference. Great Insight both. I am amazed that a hotel such as this doesn't keep on top of the maintenance and more importantly the cleaning, and knowing you do what you do, don't look out for the booking to make sure you get the best!!!

I've stayed in a motel 6 that was cleaner than this 5 star hotel. The smell in the shower comes from rags that are left in dirty water. They get that musty smell and it becomes sour. That is just laziness on the cleaners, or it could be pressed for time issues and short staffing. Either way, from the unclean accommodations to what seemed like rude staff, this trip wasn't as great as it should have been.
