The snapping mechanic looks to need some polishing. Possibly an indicator showing where each contact point is touching. I really do like how building looks and could see some really amazing builds from the crazy creative building community out there. This one is definitely on my wishlist.
My daughter and I lost so many hours in Portal Knights, now that she's getting older I cannot wait to dive into Enshrouded with her! This game has everything I'm looking for and i can't be anymore excited!!
This building system is insane! I do hope that they add an additional click & drag feature for the individual block building/deletion. Will help speed things up for those who know what shape to do pillars and windows, and more.
I really hope they add a build camera mode...it makes building so much better in games like this. Also, here's hoping the clean up the roof placement and snapping...that was making my OCD brain hurt. Also also, hopefully they make another pass on the light engine in regards to bleeding through walls and roof blocks.
LANDMARK online game vibes. That got closed cause it was online only. I'm happy someone made a game with some of those gameplay crafting systems that game had.
Other than the ghost-pieces being to hard to tell the volumes and connection points of, the building look really solid. I love the editable voxel prefab pieces.
I'm really looking forward to the release of the game, I'm enjoying everything they're doing in it, especially the construction and mining part, the game is very beautiful!! ^^
The build system looks solid on the functionality side! I do feel the UI needs some work, especially in the build menu. The icons are tiny and don't read all that well at first glance. Thankfully you have dead wasted space between each build component icon, the object icons have margins already built in the image so you can scale them up and reduce the dead space between them without it feeling cluttered. This might be in the options section for all I know but if not, it's something that should be considered. On PC this won't be as much of an issue because your generally close to the screen anyways, but once you port this to console and people are on a couch 10 ft away there's going to be an issue. Also curious if there is a hold and drag to build system? This would speed up the building process so you don't have to click every voxel cube one at a time, I saw you have larger object chunks but a drag system wouldn't hurt as another layer to the build system. And if resource requirements are not met it on a dragged section it could leave them with a wireframe outline (blueprint in other games) that can be filled once resources are acquired. Again theses systems might be in the game already but are worth considering if not. Ease of building will drastically effect this game for the casual player, for hardened builders like myself it's a massive time saver which makes for a more enjoyable experience with faster turn arounds and less tedium. But overall looking good, I can't wait to play with these systems and push them to the limits. Take care.
Please add hotkey that allows to build under the block that you looking at (so it snaps to bottom of it), it is so missed feature in other games with building
sometimes you can't place the character so that the camera is pointing at the bottom of the block, like building close to the ground, or while being obstructed by something
Now THIS is the right way to handle things leading up to the launch of a game. EA and other "AAA" developers/publishers should take note. I am genuinely stoked about this game, which is saying a lot because I don't let myself get this way anymore. ❤🎉
i tested this game today and this can be unique game. This is what was missing in games. This freedom of construction. You build what you want and how you want. It's just a pity that the game is created for a maximum of 8 players, that it can't be expanded to a large world, but I think that the history and plot of this game will be interesting enough that we will quickly forget about it :)
Yes inside the range listed in the altar. As you upgrade the altar, you build space increases. However, you can build outside of the flame range but will not be able to remove pieces
@@TheBasicBuilder this is interesting....so similar to vrising. I did find that very restrictive but I see builds that are huge so the plots are likely much bigger. Im glad you can build outside the flame...wondering what that would look like in the world over time as you make building mistakes lol. Im thinking ladders...but we have grappling hooks here. Oh well ill just have to wait and see. Im looking forward to it :)
This genuinely looks excellent- PLEASE incorporate a first-person view if thats possible... Some of us cant stand 3rd person, and would very much love to experience this game in 1st.
Out of general curiosity, what do you mean by can't stand? Do you mean as in esthetically or something else? I am wondering as I physically cannot stand 1st person - tried all the settings, but get sick every single time and end up with huge headache, nauseous and the whole room spinning around me (5 mins playing can totally take me out for 2 hours worst case scenario)... there are so many games I wanted to play but cannot cause they are only 1st person :(
@@amaella1 Very interesting! But you're able to play 3rd person okay? I don't like 3rd person because I don't like a character taking up a portion of the screen. It limits the view, and makes maneuvering and aiming (not ADS, just in general) feel more awkward. First person makes me feel like I actually AM the character. Like I'm seeing it through my own eyes. I just strongly dislike the third person view aesthetic. There's not a single game I play that has it. I'm not hating on the games themselves, sometimes they can be the best games out there. Just a personal design thing for me :)
@@_Ike I totally get what you mean, I like 1st person better too, just get so physically ill trying to play it... 3rd person is mostly fine as long as I zoom out as far as I can and don't move the camera too fast. So yeah, a shooter would be a no no. RPG like assassins creed are okay. It's sad cause some of the games I wanna play are only 1st person and I get sick even watching yt gameplays of them.
The build options are endless. I just plopped the 64 block walls next to eachother, then removed a pattern of blocks and filled them up with a different color. It really feels like having my own trademark workshop and home. Can't wait to play for real instead of demo.
Just a heads up, I really dig your videos but do feel you could trim a lot of fat and turn a 20 min video into 12-15 min by having a script of some sort and editing out unnecessary tidbits, while still getting all the same info across. You have great ideas and provide good info but there just appears to be a lot of humming and hawing, some repetitive wording etc. Just my 2 cents because your videos are already 8/10, just trying to give some personal opinions to make them 10/10. Cheers, keep up the great work and Keen Games, y’all are killing it with this one. BTW, TBB is a fantastic choice to showcase your game, please don’t take my gripes as issues with him or your game, you both kick ass and are much appreciated.
Will there structural support in the game like Valheim or 7 Days to Die? Or can will it be free form like Minecraft? I enjoy free form, because that's how you would get some truly amazing builds! I know this is early access, but the camera and the snapping definitely needs some work. Other than that, it truly looks amazing, and I can't wait to see what other building materials y'all add.
I have one suggestion for you guys. Please add actual art style to your UI. Look at how RPG games do it (Oblivion, Kingdom Come, Baldur's Gate etc.). Add designs, icons and motifs to it. It goes a long way. Staying with just a plain and generic UI will just make your game look like a cheap asset flip.
Please consider this feedback. Make this game more MMO, bigger worlds for a more online collaborative play-style. Don't go for this client hosted servers, because this will be almost as a single player title. Create big servers for thousands of players to play all together. This is what is missing in the survival general.
Nice, finally a better valheim. The game was cool but the graphics and animation were so fucking bad. And it was such a fucking no life game, too grindy. Hope this is more fun and casual. This game looks awesome.
Honestly my heart raced when you started putting the windows in and the god rays poured in in real time lol excellent!

Having the same third person camera with the character always awkwardly standing in the way is so annoying 😫
WoW the building in this game is going to be killer!
Absolutely freaking awesome!! I can't wait to build my own!!
wow its going to be so fun building in this game

Extremely excited for this game :D
Looks amazing. Can’t wait to see game play as well. I love the building though.
i hope it runs well and is optimised, my biggest issue with these kind of survival games is how the framerate is really inconsistent
Hey friend @thebasicbuilder ! knew we'd end up playing this. Lol! Nice job. I'm excited about this one.
Thanks Kristi!!
That looks like a lot of fun to be had building very cool looking structures. Looking forward to seeing how this whole game feels to play.
i love it ,awesome building system
So excited to see this

I haven't been so hard watching a video since the Pam and Tommy tape!
I hope i can customize the UI size.
This looks awesome but something that strikes me is the game could really use a build camera. Trying to do all that 3rd person looks frustrating.
Does your building need to be near the flame altar...linked to the 25m ?
Yes inside the range listed in the altar. As you upgrade the altar, you build space increases. However, you can build outside of the flame range but will not be able to remove pieces

I'm a bit worried, is it not possible to use first person view in this game????
the health bar UI not really good
Looking forward to this game. People in my Discord already asked me if I would build a big Cathedral :-)

The frames seem jumpy when the character walks
The version used in this footage predates client-side optimization that radically improved this jitteriness.
Aww missed first
Just stumbled into your game and it's going to be huge. Staff up now! Shoot me an early access key to show me some love!
Wen is it come out PS5
Thanks for the video, but please remove the background music it's so distracting!
